Dear Bayohne & Rukkirii

How do we get your attention, or at least your acknowledgment about REAL issues or concerns of the fundaments of the core game?

I'm not upset that you haven't said a peep about "my issue" with the game: (Targeting priority options)

I'm jsut disappointed that your attention is given to threads like
"too many moogle weapons threads"
"dyeing AF armor"
"eating chocobo for TG meals"
"player created guildleves"
"the sound moogle weapons make"

on the JP side they get quick responses about the position of sound in relation to the camera vs the player
and responces to loading screens with tips.


but can't acknowledge an idea that could possibly make the core of the battle system more palatable? Something that can potentially make the game better right now.

I like the community outreach, but it gets discouraging when you read responses to topics that seem so trivial at this time, and real issues fall on deaf ears.

Maybe I'm being selfish by saying my topic needs to be addressed, but at least 34 other people agree with me, and I'm not the first person to bring this topic up and not get a response. Targeting issues is one of the biggest compliants I hear about while in a PT.

I even spent like 2 hours using an online photo-editor to make you guys a picture (couldn't find my photoshop CD) I had to cut out a freaking malboro by hand which took so long it gave me carpaltunnel.

maybe you just haven't seen the thread, i'm gonna keep bumping it until targeting is changed, you shut down the thread or give it a reply.

aren't important at all indeed. However ""player created guildleves"" seem to be more important, and worth drawing attention.

no, no I agree that player created guildleves would be a great addition.
However something like that would take a lot of resources and time to develop and most likely wouldn't see it until ver 2.0 or sometime after. Yet it gets a response from a rep fairly quickly for something that would be for so far off in the future.

Yet something like the targeting priorities which would take much less time and potentially be in game quickly gets nothing from the reps.

I think they're paying attention just they say they try to lurk in the shadows lest the masses raise pitchfork high. To that I say, pop up more often but just be honest that you don't know when the team will listen, respond, or do anything. Then we can all feel feelings of happiness.

Just the validation alone would be welcome.

Targeting sucks in this game. If they added an option to allow radial (closest to furthest left to right / right to left) tab targeting it's something that could immediately improve one of the core aspects of the game. BATTLE. Yet this issue is not acknowledged.

which have to do with population control post billing. I think everyone here might want to know if SE has a plan inplace incase server population suffers.

or when patch 1.19 notes came out a few days early and people were concerned about MP regen & Enmity issues. Several threads and rage arguements insued. Yet no rep came by and said "this is how it will work".

Instead they spend time replying to topics that have no impact on current or near future game play.
Things like:
Moogle weapons will go "KUPU" when you draw your weapon... so what!
You can't dye AF armor, that sucks for customisation, but AF armor is still 3-6 months away!
There *might* be shops in hamlet areas, Hamlet def is still 3 months out.
player created leves (GREAT IDEA!! I hope it happens) but what are the chances we get something like this before ver 2.0 which is a year away?

Gath believes that they have to wait for a response from the dev team in Japan via email or whatever means they use before they can post a valid response to "hot" topics. When they finally get an email back they either get a valid response or they get a "We can't answer that right now." or something along those lines. They get a lot of heat when they post that so they decide not to post on it at all. You get nothing if they respond in that way or if they don't respond at all.

Give them a break, they try to mingle with us and whilst they wait for emails they post in topics that are just plain silly.

Gath also knows that they won't post in the same thread as Gath for their powers will be seeped into my being if they dare cross these boundaries.

Gath's 1 gil is worth more than your 1 gil©.

Hi OP. They and others are reading the forums. Some topics, due to their content, need to go through the proper channels on their response. Topics where they don't need the chain of command or allow some executive decision based on the info given to them allow for quicker responses.

I understand for situations like "will servers merge" they need prior permission to give us information

but for thigs like
"Targeting is horrible can we get an option like this?" they can't say "thanks for you're input, we will pass it along"

not to mention one of the server merge posts is over 40 days old. that a lot of time to go un acknowledged.

Certain peoples opinions are prioritized over ours.

If they don't have any info from the dev team regarding your request/inquiry, what else you want them to say?

While they can't respond to every worthwhile thread, I think they've done a worthwhile job relaying the info.

My one pet peeve is that, they are our only way to have a real dialog with the devs. And I wish that threads that have had a lot of time spent forming ideas in them, they would give us more insight into the direction of those specific topics, so we can form ideas based on the real workings of the dev team, as opposed to what we think they're doing or things in game now that might be altered fundamentally.

Don't blame the reps, blame the community and human nature that'd rather make multiple threads about things like Moogle Weapons and do not care that much about things like server issues (as seen in the past).

It's the same concept explaining why most hardcore players wouldn't make good game developers (same logic behind the common "good salesreps do not make good sales directors" statement in management strategies).

I agree that it would definitely be nice to get some better information sometimes. It's a little disheartening to hop on the Dev tracker and find that the past week the only thing you see is a Dev talk about Chocobo dinners.

However, at the same time, you have to realize this is their job. They are representatives, not decision makers, and are bound by policy & procedure much like everyone who works for a company/entity.

Honestly, just judging by the way they talk I bet some days they are bursting at the seams to say things they're not allowed to just yet.

They could at least offer to forward these concerns tot he dev team and let us know that they've done so. It would be nice to know that it's at the very least being acknowledged rather than being ignored

It's basically what they are doing on a daily basis. They are paid for that. They don't have to reply to every other thread just to say "We did forward it to the dev team", that is completely pointless. Everything is read.

OP i have only ever seen one dev response in a thread, and this thread is asking why you have not had a response to your targeting questions. so if you do get a response in this thread, it would most likely be to the question "why don't you respond". and your targeting question will still go unanswered

They're probably not commenting on your suggestion because a) they don't have the tech or time to do so or b) they have a new targeting option already and don't need suggestions. The moogle threads are dumb, but the reason why they show up in those is to show the community "hey we're listening to everything!"

It's not our policy to respond directly to threads that are targeted directly to us, but I wanted to respond to this before I close it so others can see it as well. I understand that you want your voice heard, just as every user who posts on these forums does.

Please do not take the fact that we haven't posted in your thread and said "thanks for the input, we've passed it along" as a lack of acknowledgement from us, or that we haven't done that very thing. I've said this numerous times in the past, but we simply don't have enough time in the day to respond to each and every thread with feedback. But we do strive to make sure everything is passed along accordingly.

I also would like you to keep an open mind to the fact that while threads we reply to may not be important to you, they may be important to others. With that said, please do continue to make your suggestions and feedback, as it is important to the future of the game, but please keep in mind that we won't always be able to reply to every single thread that arises.
