Dissipation and you

So to my fellow scholars I've started using dissipation on a regular basis and I have to say it works pretty well. Using it on large pulls after using up all of Lilly's cool-downs gives a nice boost and when its time for Lilly to come back her cool-downs are also refreshed.

Does anyone else do this or have other uses for Dissipation?

What do you mean her cooldowns are also refreshed? AFAIK Dissipation doesn't reset her cooldowns??

I meant by the time you can summon her again many of her cool-downs will have finished counting down or nearly finished. so the timing is pretty nice.

Oh! Okay, hahaha. For a moment I thought it had been a new feature patched in, or something. Not gonna lie, if Dissipation did reset Lilly's cooldowns, it would be a big incentive to use it more! Not that we need a buff anyways, but if SE wants to low-key get rid of the fairy... ahaha.

Anyways, as for your topic, I mostly find myself using Dissipation as a boss is dying to accelerate DPS with more EDs, don't really use it much for aught else save for the rare emergency AF stack, but when I say rare I mean rare. Our regular toolkit is usually good enough to save a party from emergencies by itself, so...

I really wish there were better reasons to use Dissipation, alas... :(

if you just would know... why dissipation became a popular topic lately... you would scream - go through the threads Taika linked and maybe you'll find "the feature" you are looking for to use it more often... or if you are a honest player even less. ^^'

I apologize but this isn't reddit. People are allowed to post without previous knowledge of other peoples posts. Unless you are a mod locking a thread please do not tell people not to post on a forum

I only ever use it in Savage when mistakes are made and suddenly I need more Aetherflow stacks than I currently have, and can afford to lose my pet for 30 seconds.

In dungeons I let my pet do all the healing, would never eat her on a large pull since I'd prefer to sit in Clerics the entire time.

you must have run with some good groups then. I mainly spend my time trying to keep the tank alive. I don't normally have space for stance dancing unfortunately.

where did I told people that they should not post in this forum? o.O – I just said there is a reason for so many Dissi threads lately and that he can find the answer why the topic is that popular atm if he goes through the links Taika linked for him... not more not less ^^

Oh I am well aware of the glitch that got patched out. But that glitch still didn't refresh her CDs orz. Now THAT'S something I'd be down with.

wait... what glitch? I was only talking about the time period for cooldowns? I was never encouraging any glitch use.

There was a glitch discovered recently that basically had you use Dissipation right as you summoned a different fairy, which would give you the Dissipation effect, full AF stack, and would still summon the new fairy anyways. It's why Dissipation had been more talked about recently. It got patched in 3.57 before it could see more light, since it was clearly an unintended exploit.

is the 2nd pet glitch also hot fixed? the one where resummoned fearys/egis could hold up their buffs 100% uptime? this one is even worse than the dissi bug... o.o although I was aware of them I didn't know that 3.57 hot fixed them... well never used them anyway - im just curious if the 2nd one is fixed as well or still (ab)usable... ^^

No one can force you, but it's just common courtesy to think of your fellow forum users, especially in a forum that's meant as an information source for the entire English speaking playerbase of the game. If a new SCH players is looking for information about Dissipation, it's the optimal situation if all that information and experiences from other Scholars are found in one thread instead of having to browse through 20 of them. :)
