This was just a joke someone made. xD
That is just photoshop. The salt has been real :p
Because we really needed -another- thread on this.
Because SE clearly waits until the first page of the General Forums has so many threads on a topic before replying.
Because there aren't already two or three threads on this.
I get that your comments aren't likely to get a lot of attention unless they're on pages 1-3 of a thread, but come on. Just suck it up like everyone else and continue posting on pages 4-infinity.
Relic step 280 confirmed in 2.56?
Oh dear... Close thread please
Finally someone with common sense. I'm glad I'm not the only one here who shares the same opinion.
And answering to those who feel "cheated" and "offended" by the new bis wep.
If this 280 wep came out in conjunction with Savage and anima at the same time. I will probably complain.... but we are 3 months away from SB and people Dare to complain about this freebie?
Stop crying over and move on. You look and sound pathetic.
Be GREATFUL and ENJOY what you've got left of HW.
This subforum should be rated 25+ tbh
The thing here is that we're still on the same patches that brought the ilvl up to 275 max for weapons. Breaking that now mean they could do it in the future but closely to the raid release or even at the same time to please casual who doesn't raid. So what would be the point in raiding then? We're taking out the difficulty, and now we're taking out the highest tier of weapon in the game. Just rename the Game FFXIV - A Realm Casual and don't add raid anymore instead of playing with people to fill your wallet.
Didn't know stupidity was comon sense.
With this little update and the i280 weapon SE litterally set the world on fire by making 2 years grind (relic weapon) and months of investment (savage clears) useless.
The worst thing is that they launched this 280weap' just 9 days after the last relic step.
I won't mind this add 1 month before SB to keep people busy but right now ? That's just stupid and a bad decision.
Keep thinking you're right, that's funny to see.
Made my day.
Or something like "Glamour Fantasy XIV"
sits down... starts praying... Dear Yoshida...
If anybody noticed except the weapons you get from Diadem 2.0 (and that pegasus minion) there is no new addition as rewards in the Diadem. Yea, I know, some probably dont have the mount yet or want the exchanges for materia or materials. But I'll predict this, Diadem 2.0 is going to die after people are done farming and nobody will touch it again. Why you ask? Well, the idea and mechanics of bosses seem fun for now, but in the end it's the same. FATE chaining and completing duties. We dont have any proper rewards, except that Im actually able to farm my materials in diadem instead of wasting blue scrips on them. I should be grateful for content which do not endure long enough, like the relic...
I guess I'll bring over here what's being said in the other thread about this.
1.) It is incredibly difficult to obtain this weapon. People have done the math: every player has less than a 1% chance of even getting this weapon. It does not invalidate the current top relic weapon. You investment in the relic is far from useless when looking at weapon power and glamour
2.) Casual players will not be getting this weapon unless they are insanely lucky and it manages to fall in their pocket in their first run of diadem
You do realise that 3.3 was 3 months away from 3.4 right? and that 3.1 was 3 months away from 3.2? Gear was made obsolete in these patches, however if casual side content had given a higher ilvl than that raid tier there would have been uproar. Why is this any different?
For me,its a bit like the bird drop when its hard to get them, yeah yeah the chance are low,but you still see tons of people with them,so that ilvl 280 weapon, with a litlle bit of time, you will start to see a lot of them. the armor should have been ilvl 260 and the weapon 265/270 no more, and on thing thats is infuriating,is that yea,the weapon is ilvl 280,but with the weapon damage, its a ilvl 285,+2 weap dmg for melee is a lot,you dont even need good roll on your weap, even without secondary stat, those ilvl 280 weap are already better.
some people are too lazy to do content, and its the raider ,mid, hard core gamer that are punished.
Lets see... savage is still active and has a lockout, anima content came out last week, and we still have a patch cycles worth of time before the expansion. If I'm not mistaken, this is 3.55b, and we still have 3.56 to go. Heavensward isn't done until that 3 turns into 4.0, just as 3.3 doesn't end until 3.4 begins.
This is not dead content that is being made obsolete, it is content that people are still actively doing (in the middle of the patch cycle), I get that you don't care, but that doesn't make Heavensward done.
That weapon would've come at the same time as the 275 step of the relic if they wouldn't have found a bug in diadem. Its still a slap to the face of people who put effort in their relics or raids.
The funny part is that most people are not your oppinion, probably because they've put effort in gearing up their class.
a 1 percent drop rate makes it seem not even worth it really , much rather have a higher drop rate and a lower item level like 260 or 265
Which begs the question: What is its purpose?
Is it to get people to play the Diadem? With a drop rate like that, why waste your time?
The only thing the addition of this weapon is guaranteeing is the further split of the game's community. The backlash was so easily predictable, it almost hurts. It worries me that the dev team didn't see this coming, because its either they weren't capable of predicting this, or they DID predict it, and just didn't care.
Stormblood needs to get here like now.
This is all part of the biggest concerns about it. It's annoying that some random person will likely have a better weapon than my relic by the end of the week but it's not world ending.
The big problem for me is that SE has shaken my hope that they learned anything from all of HW. They created terrible content, withdrew terrible content for a few months, re-released terrible content now with FATE farm (because everyone loves FATE farms right?! People kept doing them for a long time so they have to love it.) and then slapped a BiS weapon inside of it as a carrot on a stick to get people to keep trying to do it. Now they may look at it and not realize that it's terrible content because Hey, people are doing it, right?
And THAT is the real problem, they give high end weapons to people that don't even know how to play at high level.
I already seen people quit parties because one member had a PotD weapon.
After 4 relics, I think that for SB I´ll just live with primal/raid weapons
Because some people will only do content that will potentially give them bigger numbers, the Coven weapons are bait to get them to do Diadem in the hope that they get the 777 jackpot.
Other players are going to use the i265 pink gear to gear up their other jobs for SB. Other are going to be farming for the new Minions.
They likely predicted it and realized that the storm will blow over after a few days when players comprehend that these weapons will not be anywhere near common.Quote:

You only have a 1 in 72 chance of getting a weapon with a 1 in 13 chance of getting a specific weapon and the Emergency Mission will not always happen and is easy to fail.
Players have a little more than a 1% chance of getting a weapon and a bit more than a .1% chance of getting the specific weapon they want on top of a rare chance of seeing the event.
But who has a 270 or 275 weapon for every job that they play I dono maybe people do tho, and so far nobody is sayin anything about weapon drops just talkin about gear drops, and Id say weapons are the main thing people need atm gear is super easy to get. A better drop rate for a lower level weapon would of done fine to me but who knows.
Personally I'd like for both options. See the thing is, every time there has been a new weapon that either barely matched the ilvl of the best available at the time, or was weaker, people have basically said "Well, what's the point in that? No way I'm wasting time on a weaker weapon." It would not take long before people started posting that Diadem II was DOA because of that.
So putting in the best available in Diadem II as a ilvl 260/265 weapon would have done nothing and gone no where with that part of our community - I mean, how many times have you heard the sentiment that someone won't run something if there's nothing in it for them?
But if they include a stronger weapon, even though it has an anemic drop rate, they remove that argument, and give every player a reason to do it.
