Physical Appearance of Characters

I would like to see a greater range in body types as option when creating your character's physical form. Right now, the characters' appearances are too generic. There are already plenty of options for height, from Lalas to Roegadyn and Elezen. And there are options ranging from the diminutive, Au Rau, to the extremely solid, Roegadyn. But, for females especially, there is very little choice in body type within the race. I would like to see the option to make their hips wider, butts larger, tummy rounder, bust larger, etc. on all the races. If you want your character to be short, like a Midlander, Miqote or Au Rau, you cannot have a large bust, butt or wide hips. Was already asked. They said they might look into it, but no promises. Yoshida even asked if people would be okay with the amount of stretching with textures on characters if they did this.

As much as I'd like varying body shapes, I'd also rather not have horrible armor textures.

I'd love to be able to alter physique.

If it effected the way our gear looked I would not be ok with that.

They said maybe to the butt slider since apparently a lot of people wanted it. Clearly Yoshi P found it an odd choice for a highly requested customisation feature.

As to the rest I think its highly unlikely. The way he was saying it suggested we aren't likely to see any additional customisation options soon, at least in part because they are worried that due the way the data transfers that as they add more options it might start to effect game performance. That might just be a engine limitation and if that is the case they might not be able to do much about it without a substancial amount of time and money. Honestly considering many people really like the look of the game I think any such change would be a rather low priority.

I'm sorry but this triggered me ! i do not think females need anything more ! try playing as a male character and then judge before you go on saying female do not have much options !

They weren't talking about glamour. And I have played as a male character. They have all the cool stances/poses.

It took forever for them to change the appearance of Egis (3 years I think), it will also take forever for them to change the character creation mode...

I think the OP brought up females specifically because while men and women have the same level of customisation (rather than glamour, which I have moaned about a lot) it's a lot harder to have, say, an old or ugly female character. Female characters range from 'super adorable' to 'super attractive', while there are at least a tiny number of options for guys to look a bit different. More configuration for body shape would help. As someone with a huge character I don't think the stretching for a butt slider would be as bad as it sounds; big characters already experience noticeable texture stretching with certain gear and we still look ok. Having said that, I like my scrawny Elezen and wouldn't use a butt slider anyway. My dream addition would be more scar options, particularly body scars and tattoos. Maybe when PS5 is a thing and PC 32-bit support is dropped...

A matter of opinion; I'd much rather have the girls' DRK pose than my current one. A /cpose option to cleanly solve both problems would be lovely.

Not sure why your triggered, phsique changes would help us all out. I didn't want a male Miqote because the shoulders were too bulky and I'm a pretty slender guy (in spirit lol). Shame too because Miqote are cool with the animal features but its the body structure that annoys me. Even the female Miqote which I decided to go for since I didn't look like a testosterone heavy, short catboy. Just plain cat boy is fine please. So I'm down with physique altering but not as much as in those pinup drawings, too much is just too much. Some of em looked like they would get a heartattack in a middle of a Raid. X(

Also I can't stand when other players are like, "DON'T CHANGE MY MIQOTE!" When I'm changing mine. Mind your businesses, my Miqote is "MY" Miqote. Just a side rant lol

I think the problem with different physiques and body types is that SE would likely have to alter/adjust a lot of the gear to compensate. If I recall correctly, miqo'te had more volumptuous bodies in 1.0, particularly in the butt region, but when 2.0 came out they gave them pancake butts because it was basically easier for the majority of races to have similar body types (plus it allowed for addition of male miqo'te) than having to alter pieces of gear for larger rear ends.

I, for one, would like to be a less twiggy cat. To put some ammo in the gun show.

Everyone's got a pretty generic physique barring roes and highlanders, i'd like some muscle adjustment options, and some options for all body proportions in general. Especially the butt, because i aint got one

I also hate being a ken doll, but that is a fight for another day.

Thats how I play since release 2013! - Stretched! - o_o

I got a huge 16:9 TV and I play that game on my PS3 (wich has ScreenSize options PS4 dont have!) with 4:3 size

Result: To avoid blackbars left and right the PS3 system Stretching the 4:3 screen(20%) and every1 looks like normal proportioned people!!
Gears also looks normal. Everything o:
I dont like how my chars and everyone else looks so thin/flat on PS4 so I still play on PS3 <,< (all other games dont has that issue - flat avatars...)

I hope they will give us PS4-user a screensize option(like every PC has!) when 4.0 is out and PS3 support sadly gets cut :U

When I first started the game on PS3 in beta phase 1, I spent almost two hours finalizing my character. I don't want to be in a situation where something like breast and posterior dimensions makes me take longer.
