A little suggestion Regarding the Wintrading situation.

Its by far not a Solution for the Whole thing. But maybe a little step into the right direction.

I noticed (and many others too) that wintrading players often decline the invite when theyr Wintrading partners dont get invites too to avoid honest playing people.

So in another MMO (not sure if im allowed to mention it here) a declined !Rated! PvP match immediatly counts as a loss and lowers your Ranking. When i was playing soloqueue in the Early morning hours i sometimes had 3 declines in a row after getting the invite window popping. So that would have counted as 3 losses for those people. Maybe that would be a step forward to give those cheaters a little Wall to walk into.

I for myself stoped playing rated for the moment. It just feels pointless especially when i see people on the top 100 that clearly dont belong there and it gets even worse since SE isnt really doing anything against it wich encourages even more players to do it.

Not the worst idea, and arguably better than what we have now. The issue with this is that it now becomes too risky to afk when the queue for some roles is over 30 minutes at times.

There is always a downside i guess. But the positive effects outweight the negative effects in my opinion.

Wait this isn't already a thing? YES PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN. I know the MMR in question, and I'm pretty sure I've played the same one and been punished for AFKs, loading screens taking too long and blocking me out of the queue, queues not popping for me etc (if it's the game I'm thinking of, I was 3K MMR in Season 15 and it could take up to 20 minutes for a queue sometimes because the only other teams would be queueing were ones that were willing to risk their rating because they were positive we were counter comped). But these are worthy sacrifices when you don't want win-trading/premades in solo q to be made easy. I mean it'll happen anyway, but anything to make it harder I would welcome.

I'll be trying out ranked when the new season starts, what're the tank queues like on an off-topic note Araxes?

I could get behind this 100% Queues are long and trying to go AFK for a couple of minutes usually doesn't hurt anything, but I'll routinely drop queue if I need to AFK as it is. It would be a bit of a hassle for a lot of people to drop queue if they needed to AFK; but I agree the benefit would certainly outweigh the negative.

I'm on board with this! As long as canceling only hurts your rank when the queue has actually popped

Its different from Time to time. When i tryed to play last time as a Tank with platinum Rank it showed 30 minutes + in the evening. Then it opened up at like 3 am in the morning and got multiple declines with no further pop. As is said i stoped playing rated for the moment, hoping SE does something against this situation. With a lower rank you should get invites more faster.

I am thoroughly behind this. I haven't played ranked since first trying at release (I got bad toxicity poisoning so stopped). A friend & I are looking at next season but I've noticed the same issues of dodgy queue popping in unranked too where people are trying to get with certain 'co-conspirators'. This would be a great solution!

I don't think it'll work.
If people will lose the same amount in legit match (and wintraders always lose legit matches) and by withdrawing, they'll prefer withdrawing to being humilated/spotted by a legit team.

Yeah but they will still loose rating wich makes it more Harder for them to cheat theyr Way up.

Easy to fix this too. Instead of it counting as a loss in your current tier (-5/-10/-15/-20) making a withdraw always -25, that would really make win trading almost useless

But the point is they'll still lose their rating. Which means the system works.

@Araxes yeah surprisingly got some queues tonight, 3 of them, then a decline and nothing else (2:30AM~ ST). Got a little taste of 4v4 now I want MOAR.

What makes you think that only bad players cheat? Think of the greatest professional athletes of the past 30 years. Of the names that come to mind, I'd be shocked if only a few have admitted to using steroids or similar at some point in their careers. The desire to "win" can make people resort to all sorts of things.

On the other hand, the community in general does seem to look down on cheating and I doubt there's like a wintrading cabal of players on every leader board. I'm sure it does happen, though (and I'm almost certain I've seen it). Keep in mind that people are probably using alts and bought/abandoned accounts to boost each other. That can be a very hard thing to detect, and even harder to prove.

I think a good solution would be SE showing us detailed match history. Probably not gonna happen though... "witch hunting" and stuff

edit: I guess you were talking about 4v4? I dont know how SE could possibly fix that unless they start actively policing it. I'm pretty sure they knew it would be a disaster too xD thats why they didn't initially plan on offering rewards for it

Its not always totaly bad people Wintrading. There are also Good players wich are just Lazy as fuck and prefer to dishonor themselves than claiming the Ranks legit.

That would scare me, for sure, as a "fair" (prepared to lose most of the time even when trying my best not to) player. That said, I would love a general solution to having to take a piss an hour into a queue without fear of wasting the whole thing.

Like, perhaps a "skip" or "abstain" mode? You hold your position in queue, but temporarily those behind skip ahead whenever the queue would pop for you, until you turn the mode back off.

Granted, that would make it easier for win-traders to match to each other during low-pop hours, but in high-pop? I think it would be worth the QoL change even if it means we let a few more through the cracks than otherwise.

What stops them from making two teams and allow one throwaway team to always que first to check if someone else ques? Even if they withdraw they'll not lose points because they are rated 0.

Because at some point your throwaway team will need to rank up to stay in the same queue. The point is to make it as difficult as possible to use win trading to advance. This won't solve the problem with LP, only solo Q where healers would pair up and win trade. It still doesn't address the other problems with cheating in feast, but it would be a start. I doubt SE cares though; so don't hold your breath.
