Watching it now, they just confirmed there are no plans currently to expand the creator creation options. :(

Maybe next time lol.

Thus far we have "No new character options" and "No more garden slots".

Hopefully this Q&A won't just be "We want this!", "Sorry no can do."

The reason he gave for not adding a butt slider doesn't sit well with me. The textures would get stretched? We already have sliders for other things, including bust, so it's not like there's no way they couldn't make it work. At least he realises there's a demand and said he would look in to it.

I think we really needed more character options...the game is sorely missing a lot of options.

I switch from Au Ra to Miqote because i get bored. The Au Ra would be good if we can choose the horns we want and the rest of the characters need a lot more than what we have.

Yay, they didn't even understand the hempen set question. :(

It's beyond me how some Free2Play MMORPG has more Character Options in the end than a Pay2Play MMORPG that we're playing currently.

FFXIV has one of the poorest and limited character customization screen if not the poorest of them all in all recent MMORPG's. F2P,B2P and P2P combined. The options are so limited it reminds me MMORPG's of the previous decade.

Big fat NO to DPS meter, but there's something you can redo until you clear it, but that sounds a lot like stone sky sea.

Unless it's something like WoW's proving grounds.

How do those other MMOs compare in terms of gameplay, world-design, graphical fidelity, level of content, and frequency of QoL and content updates?

There are games out there with way larger open world, better graphics and way better character customization. I can't say which games because we don't want that kind of threads here and I don't know even if it's allowed. But if you look out of FFXIV there are. FFXIV stands on its own and it's a very competitive game but that doesn't mean we have to remain stagnant and do not evolve. FFXIV needs to improve on some areas.

That's pretty disappointing, honestly - that it isn't at all on the radar. Hopefully that changes by the time 5.0 swings around because it's sorely needed and more important/beneficial than a new playable race. As always some of the questions are things that have been asked before already or could be answered with some simple research/common sense. I'm pretty sure, for instance, that a previous Live Letter already addressed the fact that Hildibrand quests would not be associated with trials. Thankfully the expansion looks promising and I'm definitely excited. I do get the impression that things are being played a little too safe though.

There's little point in blaming Balmung. Yes, it's one of the larger servers but it isn't as if Balmung has the final say in regards to which questions are chosen.

After they push out cross world friend list they plan to implement cross world tells, linkshells and free company invites.

They were randomly chosen. Probably. Maybe.
Would've been nice if they'd parsed them before-hand. Saved a lot of time, provided some actual solid answers.

The fact that Koji has to re-read the questions to Yoshi-P in Japanese, and then translate his answer back too, means that every question takes up twice as much time as they might otherwise.

Props to the translators, I can see small inconsequential moments of being flustered but they always push on and get their job done well - which is admirable. Making a mistake in my own language on a big stage, I'm pretty sure I'd fly right past red into some danger zone purple lol.

And congrats to the team for the awards :)

Dying for more info on the expansion though.. I'm with withdrawal-ing (*rocks manically in chair*), really hoping for more interviews in the near future lol.

I'm starting to remember why I don't watch question live letters... Always full of glamour questions.

It's common to see a Doppelganger of your Character Ingame, even if we have huge Number of Colors to choose for.

... and mostly if that happens either that Doppelganger is surprised or is going to get mad/angry about it...

The production cost for something like that, which effects body proportions etc alone would likely be pretty huge as they would have to adjust armor to suit - not just new armor but all existing armor as well.

On top of this they would be obliged (mostly by the community of complainers) to give everyone a free fantasia, which is in effect a free month's subscription to the entire playerbase. A fantasia costs $10, and that $10 could be revenue from the mog station that they would have recieved from all of the players that are toying with the idea of doing a reroll.

I can understand why they are hesitant to add things like this.

If they ignored the fantasia handouts and just said "well we will do it but if you want to change your character you have to buy a fantasia", I could understand the request being reasonable - especially if it's for things such as facial sliders (cheek bones, chin, eye depth etc). However I also imagine the resources required to adjust stuff like this would be a lot more difficult since faces are currently set in a "ABCD" system.

Changing things such as adding more styles of facial marks for Miqo, or detaching horns from facial structures on Au Ra I can understand, however sliders are a completely different ball game I would imagine.

They are doing major server upgrades in order to add onto various content. I don't see why they can't just overhaul the character creation system too.

Hmm not much new information was to be said but that's how it always goes with these live letters with Q and A. Just waiting to hear more of the LALALALALALA not listening to some reasons why this isn't possible.. Oh...

I also like how Yoshi is actually holding the community to account once again regarding hard content. If you want harder content they will give it to you but do not complain if you can't do it, because the community asked for it.

I still have my free fantasia(s), thanks SE~ lol. Every now and then I think about turning into an ankle biter though ... :3

I figure Yoshida was joking but uh.. he said if we're okay with stretched textures we could get a butt slider haha. So, there's peoples first customization they can petition for big butts. What a patch note announcement that'd be. Just to make everyone say it multiple times I want the One Eye & Yoshida to do a live stream demonstrating it's function, and undoubtedly show how it does nothing on lalafels lol.
