I dunno but its time to do something, this has been happening a bit too much lately lol
Every evening I sit down to play, the servers crash followed by maintenance D:
If it was that bad, then the other NA data centers would have gone down too. Aether is just being a special snowflake when it comes to sever instability for some strange reason.
If you take into consideration population density of worlds. It's not being in Canada that's a problem. It's the number off ppl on a server cluster.
Mana data center sometimes broken at this patch like, 3 times in 1 week before.
I made another thread about hopeful server upgrades, but I'm sure it will die without any kind of official response or transparency about the issues at hand other than the usual "lol this data center needs emergency maintenance again we r rly sry!!!!!!" Like that other person said, the issue isn't the servers being in Canada, it's with the servers themselves.
A lot of people in the NA community did decide to go to Gilgamesh and Balmung to raid. Both being on the same data center those 2 servers became the most populated on the NA servers. Might be part of the reason that there are so many players in 1 data center.
Our Beavers are currently trying to overthrow the Moose manager it's a very delicate situation expect the servers to be working again soon
Please, no...
I'm getting good pings as it is right now.
And it has nothing to do with the location of the servers. If the servers lack resources, they'll crash no matter where they are.
And I saw other data centers went down while Aether wasn't. I'm doubt it's about not having enough hardware resources. It's just a few down time per year, just like any other networks in the world.
Like its getting ridiculous.
I hope they start the Stormblood server upgrades early because the load of the cross server PF is just too much for the existing systems.
What issues are you talking about?
Every major patch the servers have issues. It has nothing to do with there location.
Also they are in Canada because SE has a studio in Quebec, for that reason they wouldn't move to Texas or Chicago.
I'm on Balmung, I haven't noticed any issues.. playing 2-4 hours a day. Sure they keep doing maintenance but I understand that as a dev post a patch and it never overlaps my playtime.
We don't know anything for sure, it's just speculation that it's overpopulation of those two worlds.
Ultimately it's also nothing to do with us, it's in SE interest to get the servers as stable as possible, but they're not obligated to give us a breakdown of what exactly the problem is and really it's none of our business. We're customers paying a subscription, we don't need to know how it's not working, just if it's working or not.
SE also won't want the hassle from fixing them non-stop and they certainly don't want the bad publicity from servers going up and down all the time so I'm sure they're doing their best to work on a permanent solution.
I live maybe an hour's drive away from Montreal. Trust me, it ain't the location that's the problem.
Also, haven't the servers been kept there for a long time now? Why are we blaming recent problems on something that has been a constant?
Join Chaos, it is out of Canada
Man, that's even worse. I could understand if it was a lag issue (I'd still be upset about it, but at least I could understand it). This is something they could fix in an instant just by making the effect and cooldown happen at the same time, whether that was at the start of the animation or the end. There's absolutely no reason to have those two things happen at different times.
I'd be fine with dying when I tried to pop Hallowed if I didn't lose the 7 minute cooldown as well.
