Please SE fix people going afk in the Feast

with the new Garo event going on people are just afk'ing by the entrance and just sit there to get wolf marks while some of us are trying to get our wins for the mount. This happened several times today with different groups and there is no recourse since you can't kick them.

Well, the first course of action would be reporting them. If they aren't doing anything it's fairly obvious from the score.

I luckily only had one such person in my like 200 games so far. And he didn't even AFK at the start but rather under the bridge ._.'

There should have never been a timed event (even if it's 3 years long) by utilizing PvP. This is more cruel than if they had locked the horses in Diadem.

Bitter rage: I can't get a freaking win from shatter. I just want the horse.

How many games have you played? I'm like 9/6/7 for the week, which isn't too bad. Had a super-long lose streak yesterday; before that I was 7/2/3 or something lol.

I don't think it's unreasonable to say that most people who actually try to get the rewards from this event will be able to do so.

Indeed, report straight away. If you can't be bothered to report then please do NOT whine about it. It's your responsibility to police the community where possible as GMs are not omnipotent.

I myself have been experiencing more loss than win in Frontline shatter. Feast is about there but isn't too bad my opinion I think most players just don't understand basic tactics and strategy. I guess the bright side too losing as you still get with marks and I like collecting cosmetic care so this lets me collect more Garo gear.

I've only had one instance of someone going AFK during the feast fortunately. However something that does seem to happen on a regular basis is queuing up with a team that intentionally throws the game so that it ends early. I guess they're speed farming marks or something? It gets frustrating when you are one of the only people actually trying and the round ends in like 2 minutes.

Ha! Not sure of the AST, but your name was easy to spot/remember. We ran on the same team every now and then.

I grinded out 30 wins this weekend and did not see this happen once. Is it really that common?

Happened to me once since event started (haven't played many matches). He ran out ahead of the group while we were grabbing buffs (suicide), and stood around (weaponed sheathed) or jumped in place towards the end, not heeding multiple calls to retreat (feeding). Reported him and got GM response asking for the time, which I didn't remember so I could only give a vague window.

TL;DR, report people not playing competitively, using their name, world, and time of incident including time zone. It helps weed the trash out.

It happened multiple times just yesterday with different people. As it was my first time doing the feast I didn't know this was reportable, I will may sure to do so going forward.

This doesn't happen on my datacentre but I would be happy to take this punishment if it solves the problem. The rewards for loss are clearly too high if people are using gamethrowing as a valid progression strategy.

Another possible problem that answer can create tho is more people giving up 1st to make sure they secure second aka 2nd place people screwing over last place instead of going for the win in fear they might let 3rd catch up and push them to last

That would punish too harshly those that are trying but still lose but or perhaps maybe farming the wolf marks for the Garo gear. Just report those that aren't observably participating in the battle and such.

It's all or nothing. These participation awards are not good for kids nowadays who believe that they will be rewarded with something by doing almost nothing. Not just for MMOs but in real life as well.

It's kind of weird that you can get kicked for afk-ing in the triple triad battlehall but not PvP.

weird, the other day I received an in-game message saying "you've been afk for 1min, 1 more and you'll get kicked" (not THOSE excact words of course but that was the idea) and I was'nt doing anything cause....we were waiting for the game to start xD

I respectfully disagree with giving 0 marks for losing.

I am a PvP beginner and am trying my best. But my best does not amount to much and I have a 30% win rate.

I keep playing because I know I am rewarded something: 250 marks and perhaps a slight increase in skill.

If SE does drop the rewards for losing in PvP, the following will happen:

1. backlash from casual players/Glamour chasers versus applause from a handful of dedicated PvP players

2. lots of people simply do not bother with PvP anymore since it is 10 minutes of effort for nothing

3. People will quickly give up when they are losing. Why bother going for 5 more minutes when you can AFK and achieve the same results

0 Mark for losing would assuradly kill PvP, so I don't think that's a good idea at all.

There are three teams, 2/3 the players will always get 0. Also certain GC have a higher win rate, its like horde vs alliance in WoW lol - so if this happens then the winning GC will be flooded even more, already taking the now less popular content into a worse scenario. The queues will be god awful and there will be a lot of raging going on, like LoL level toxic rage.

So please no, never ever do that.

Like in the other thread I thought perhaps they should reward you based on participation like FATEs (bronze, silver, gold, platinum etc etc), except ranking is a little bit more considerate of specific activities (not which team gets the most aggro). So if you do nothing (0 in all stats), 0. If you contributed very little (like 10% of the average team's contribution), fraction of the original reward, normal is normal (if you contribute, even if you're bad but trying - this should be easily attainable), and if you're amazing you get even slightly more.

You will get kicked for just straight-up afking, if I recall. When people are using the term in regards to PvP, they mean the player is actively moving or using actions in order to avoid the auto-kick, but are not contributing to the match otherwise (NINs staying in Hide and meandering around, healers running in circles and jumping at base, etc). This was fairly common in Frontlines during the original Animus weapon step, but tbh I don't see it much these days, I guess because it's just not efficient or fun.

They actually try to promote pvp and we win more marks than before.
Win 0 when u lose would kill pvp.
Pvp is good as is it , winner and loser win something.
Personnaly, i not saw afk people sitting when i do frontline or the feast 8x8.

I personally haven't seen any AFKers in Frontlines in a while or in 8x8

Well they could add.... do 100 PVP front lines and 300 PVP feast.

feast. You must do one of the following to get credit. deal 20k dmg, heal 20k HP on other players. Or ratio to that effect.
Similar on Frontlines, but lower it to 5k because sometime as a healer I just hold the base. if there is 2 healers. I can solo cover the base forever against 2 foes. which is normally enough time for a party member to come help or 5... and then they die.

Well, people want those exclusives gears, sadly only due PVP! <,<

This is true, as a pld I can pretty easily hold the base against a group for a while, after using a macro to call out the attack, but depending on the number of enemies and the frequency, I might not break a high number despite being active in other ways. (Breaking ice, buffing passing alliance members, etc.)

this patch seems to have affected the quality of pvp matches in an extremely negative way to me.
Used to be able to win fairly consistently or at least feel like winning was within grasp and now it feels i'm lucky to get 1 win a day
just the groups i get paired with just sort of mill around not actually doing anything spread out all over the map, running away at the first sign of other colors

It's very frustrating to constantly go into pvp and within the first couple minutes realize there is zero chance

I've been experiencing something like that in Frontlines but I think I've only had one win in think 12 or so battles that I've done so far since the patch. Hey can I get more wins in the Feast then Frontlines. Note: this is queuing a solo, I got a few Wins when I went in with a premade. Just difficult creating pre-made for Frontlines.
