Disappointed in the story because of how short it was. Expected more voice acting and stuff to do. They kinda false advertised with showing Nero and the grinning guy from Empire in the trailer.

It's Part 1. We're on a cliffhanger until at least March.
I know but still just five quests.. expected like 10-15 with important cutscenes and voice acting. The budget apparently increased.. where its at?
It only feels shorter, it's because the Primal/warring Triad Content and the MSQ content are separated. If you took the Primal content and added it on top of the MSQ it would be the same amount of content/story.
This is probably what you get when you have so many that complained about the length of the 2.x series.
I thought the story was very good, quality over quantity OP.
I thought it was well paced, told what needed to be told. This is just part 1 too.
It's not like 3.1 which was just "is that it?"
The obvious cliffhanger did feel a bit jarring but that's just me wanting some closure.. This is what we went through with 2.5 and it was said several times this is only Part 1, sooo set up camp cause it's gonna be a lil wait
You want a long story... Start from the beginning.
Do not also forget that apparently the "Girl in Red" we were suppose to find out about her, so more MSQ in part 2 of patch
It was short, but I don't really mind since we'll be getting plenty of other new stuff in the next few weeks. 3.55 in about a month, the new Fan Fest, Part 2 in March.
I did find the cliffhanger to be a bit frustrating, admittedly, but a lot of stuff did end up happening during the MSQ's. I suspect that the next batch of MSQ's, released in March, will be pretty beefy as there's a lot of plot points to wrap up and advance in preparation for 4.0. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up getting a surprise dungeon/trial thrown into the mix. I believe that was the case with Nabriales?
This felt less like two story parts but like one coherent storypatch cut in half. It ended too abruptly imo.
I rather they get to the point and cut it off rather than fill it with meaningless detours. Do you want more "find the kids/pick up boxes/Help Tataru gather" tasks in between your MSQs?
Certainly would be a character development that makes sense.
I could certainly see her dedicating herself to monk-style training and all that as part of dealing with her loss. Or it's a side of her that she lets free as a way of coping that she's kept hidden. Either makes sense in this case.
