Do we get the day back?

Does anyone know if we will get the day back for the servers being down all day? Will they add a free day of time to our accounts for compensation?

No. They never have and they likely never will. Never seems to fail there's at least one person that asks this each major patch...

times that by how ever many accounts are active in this game. That's a lot of money wasted. Thanks for the sarcastic responses. A simple yes or no would suffice.

Routine server maintenance for patches/hotfixes/etc are covered in the Terms of Service agreement that you already agreed to before you started the game. No one is going to be "compensated" for what is a necessary part of updating the game.

Your compensation is getting new content. Other then that no you don't get any other type of compensation.

Subs don't work by hours logged in.

And yet, its a paltry amount for anyone and everyone. they compensate people when there is unexpected and excessive downtime. A day for a patch that adds a lot of content is neither excessive nor unexpected lol

Most other games would compensate. Just wondering. Thanks you guys have been great!!!

The patch notes are up... Not exactly a secret.

You also disregard the lack of routine maint's the game gets. There is no few hours maint a week... Tbh the game needed this, was starting to suffer with lag in instances etc.

Of the sub games out there... heh...

None of them have for expected maintenance.

Now... things outside of the control SE (ie cascade errors that crash servers left and right and it takes a day to fix) would likely be compensated.

But to answer as has been answered, no. It wouldn't happen. And I'm sure this game does the 24 hour maintenance window on major patch days regularly.

5. INTERRUPTION TO THE SERVICE
From time to time, in order to provide our customers with the optimal gaming experience, it is necessary for Square Enix to conduct routine maintenance on the computers and/or servers that support the Game. During these times, access to the Game or support services may be interrupted. Access may also be temporarily suspended in whole or in part, without notice, due to emergency repairs, fire, flood, explosion, war, strike, embargo, governmental action or failure to act, the act of any civil or military authority, act of God, or by any other causes beyond Square Enix's control, or any other reasons for which Square Enix, in its sole discretion, deems that temporary suspension is necessary. How long has Heavensward been out? And how many major content patches have we had during that time. Do the math. The avg content patch is roughly 6 months

Compensations happen when something major happen, not for an expected maintenance.

Best example would be those unfortunate earthquake that happened in Japan where SE postponed house destruction by respect for those people, thats compensations and for a good reason.

As it should be, also that's the only time they've given a compensation. We didn't get anything when there was connection issues for a good 2 days on some data center so don't expect anything for a patch.

19 months (ish).

So content is patches every 2.3 (ish) months... This is including the .x5 updates.

I guess it depends on what you deem major content patches?

After a quick Google search for around when patch notes came out (so a few days before the patch, give or take):

3.45 came out on Nov 1
3.40 was Sep 26
3.35 was July 18
3.30 was June 6

... I could go on.

Today that little shiny star taught us how 3 months and half is the exact same as 6 months.

It's 3 months. The only patch that i know of that took longer was 3.1, no idea where you're getting this 6 months from.

I don't see a reason for us to be compensated.


An update is a gift. They're not obligated to give us any.

You can argue that subs will go waaaay down if they ever stopped updating the game.

Then I will say: "Shaddap and wait."

Compensation is given when an unintentional event puts you in a terrible circumstance out of your control.


Compensation is not given to put you the complainer in a state better before you were affected.


Tell me, what exactly did you lose to cause you distress from the servers being down for 1 day?


Hint Hint: You won't win this battle in the courts because you know why? If you ever read the Newsletter and the popups whenever we log into the launcher. They always give us a 3 day advance notice so we can figure out what we can do with our lives. [Like Go outside and breathe the air]

They probably played a Blizzard game. From Vanilla to Lich King account was given extra time for multiple down time. Never for schedule though if I am remembering right, was always for multiple bug fix patches.

So I have played a few NCsoft, Blizzard and Turbine games I don't remember any of them having multiple full day patches over the course of less then 4 years.

We never got them, even though we should. And the fans are gonna make fun of you if you ask for it.

He is wrong and the 3 month thing is wrong they average all over 12 weeks with some being 16. That is not three months.

12 weeks is 3 months (on average) and 16 is more... Either way 3 months is a nice approximation to put on them.
