I don't speak memes. English, please.
That's not even a meme. That's just a short clip of something.
I also don't speak in .gif
A wasted zone with literally nothing to do there in between patches where main scenario sends for some quests. Why all end game content like tomestone shop is in Idylshire?
Lovely place to do rp !!
It's not the same situation at all. All major ARR cities have reasons to visit them daily like GCs. And they are always populated because they are starting cities. Ishgard has neither of these, aside from levequest counter which is near aetherite. And there's no reason to go to marketboard section there. I don't even take weekly B mark bills in the inn because they take hours to find in enormous new areas.
They have very specific spawn points, a quick google search will produce multiple maps for all hunts mobs in a particular zone. Use that and you can jump spawn point from one to the other of your specific hunt, usually takes about 5 minutes from warping into the zone to find the mob. Now you can do Bs :D
I agree though, they don't need to put endgame stuff in Ishgard but why are things such as the upcoming painter in AFKshire and not Ishgard? It is a really underutilized zone.
Translation of the meme is the place is pretty much a joke. There is nothing, literally nothing to do there. At this point I would be happy if they added in a whole bunch of NPCs to make that place feel like an actual city.
AFKshire is a lagfest, so much so I wish people were kicked into the hinterlands if they go AFK there.
You say that, but originally Idylshire WAS going to be connected to the Hinterlands, but the devs decided to separate them because they didn't want the entire zone to be affected like Mor Dhona was in 2.0. But putting end game token content and whatnot in Ishgard is just shifting the AFKers from one city to another and you may as well not even have Idylshire at all if you are going to force people to stay in a major city. But why stop at Ishgard? Why not just keep people in the 2.0 zones for the sake of looking like they are busy while making the new zones look like ghost towns?
Considering that you return to Ishgard many times in the MSQ, do you want endgame AFKers also taking up space as people doing the MSQ have to suffer from lag too?
This is why I hate that there are hubs in this game. In another post, I already mentioned how it kills off other maps by making them useless. They really do need to spread the love to all other maps. End game NPCs should be different towns in different maps. You put them all together, then that's where all the people will be. Only thing missing in Mor Dhona and Idyllshire is the market board. If it wasn't for that, all starter cities would be completely dead.
I always thought itd be a cool idea to put different disciple's tome equipment in different locations.
MIN gear trade in could be an NPC in an outpost somewhere in CWH.
BTN in Sea of Clouds, Camp Cloudtop
FSH, Forelands
Tanks could have been an Armory in Ishgard with DRGs.
MNK and NIN could have been in the Brume,
BRD, and MCH in the Machine Factory place in Ishgard, or Zenith.
Casters could have easily been in the Monastery in The Pillars.
Idyllshire would still have Alexander raid gear, NM and Savage. As well as scripture turn ins for crafting mats, as well as Chloe. Also they should have kept it to where you have to go to the entrance of Savage in order to que in. I understand that some of you hate having to do this, but it adds to the immersion of a game, like it or not. Itd also make Idyllshire even more of a hub for endgame raiders.
Having dozens of players all huddled around a glowy blue portal. Yep, that's quite immersive.
Even if things are spread out, players will still tend to gravitate towards a single area.
In 1.0, most people gathered in Ul'dah.
For XI when I played, it was mostly Jeuno, although there was a fair amount of players in Whitegate.
In vanilla Everquest (at least on PVE servers), it was the tunnel in East Commons.
Hell, even now, most people hang out at Limsa because the markets and aetheryte are in the same zone.
