Other than Raw Int. + Awareness, none. It's not often advised to stack multiple defensive cooldowns.
{Blood Price} + random non active skill
As WAR I always use Berserk and Bloodbath together since they have the same cooldown time.
Same thing with PLD Fight or Flight and bloodbath. Bloodbath is great, I hope Dark Knight has something to pair with it.
Living dead with Convalescence I suppose. Even then, its only if you happen to have Con available at the time of LD. You should be using Con throughout the fight. Raw Int + Awareness is the big one. Don't do Dark Dance and Blood Price. Although its not really the same, try and used weaker defensive cooldowns when you can Inner Beast a big hit - bigger cooldowns when you cant. Canadane is pretty spot on though, stacking def cooldowns is generally avoided as a rule.
Berserk/fight or flight and bloodbath go well together. But yeah it's generally not good to pair CDs as it reduces their effectiveness, since they're multiplicative, not additive.
I think you mean walking dead, using convalesce while living dead is active is kinda counter productive.
Other than those, there are a couple to avoid (DO NOT DO THESE):
- Blood Price + Dark Arts + Dark Dance - Dark Arts is highlighted in red, because when you use it with Dark Dance, you get a boost to your dodge chance. Dodged attacks make Blood Price less valuable.
- Blood Price + Dark Arts + Dark Passenger - Similar to above, this one afflicts enemies with Blind, which effectively increases your dodge chance, and works against Blood Price.
- Hallowed Ground + any other defensive cooldown - Hallowed Ground is godmode. Why would you waste something else on top of it?
Otherwise, I have a few pairings I do. Fight or Flight pairs nicely with Bloodbath, Dark Dance goes well with Foresight, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head for WAR.
its better to use Dark Dark Dark passenger when there 2+ adds since its a higher potency then Dark SE and with the blind effect it really not that much so blood price is still good on it. Also Dark dance is pretty much good with anything since it increase the rate of parry and sometimes it better to just leave it by it self if you know your not going to have foresight shadowskin and scale up
While mting as Drk once you have enough eminity and your healers can heal you while without Grit you can combo Blood weapon and bloodbath it some below the hps of Fof Bloodbath or Berserk bloodbath but its Hp gain
No love for Vengeance + Bloodbath in large pulls?
Dark Arts/Dark Dance + Blood Price isn't as tragic as people make it out to be.
The only place Dark Arts/Dark Dance really shines is in Dungeon runs on trash packs and I hit Blood Price with it all the time. Dark Dance is going to last pretty much until the pack is dead and hitting Blood Price is still going to get you some mp and it will come off cooldown for the next pack when you hit it right away. So if you didn't use it just because you had dark dance up, you basically wasted some free mp in my opinion. As godly as Dark Arts/Dark dance is on trash packs, it's still not 100% dodge. MP regain will happen.
I tend to combine Foresight with moves like DD, RI, and Bul for a little bit of extra mitigation. Foresight very much is one of those skills that you want to use in conjunction to build up.
Awarness + Dark Dance, because you can't parry critical hits.
I use this all the time. The synergy between them is fantastic, and dropping a few Overpowers on 10+ mobs with Maim up alongside it basically makes you invincible. I use this for pulls that will really hurt.
Foresight + Convalescence is my "this won't hurt as much" cooldown. And then obviously Raw Intuition + Awareness, but that's situational - more often than not I just use Raw Intuition to extend the stack timer.
It depends on how much mitigation you need too, and whether you need/want to use tank stance or not. For most dungeon pulls rotating vengeance/berserk/bloodbath and thrill/foresight/awareness/raw intuition should be plenty.
For savage raid tank busters, I'd suggest at least two cds without defiance. Thrill and vengeance for example, and plan your holmgang timings to get the most out of it. If the tank buster is physical you can also use foresight and raw intuition.
Conva and ToB? How about foresight, that has to be paired to make that dinky little thing count for something. Stacking BB, vengeance, and berserk makes for AWESOME self healing and deeps when you're downing a large pull in dungeons, and that's not even counting the inevitable decimate and overpower spam. Cooldowns can be paired just fine to get a good amount of synergy, especially on WAR. "not often advised"? get out of here!
Off the top of my head:
- Fight or Flight + Bloodbath
- Berserk + Bloodbath
- Vengeance + Bloodbath
- Thrill of Battle + Convalescence (especially when dropping Defiance)
- Raw Intuition + Awareness
- Dark Dance + Foresight/Awareness
- Bulwark + Foresight/Awareness
- Foresight + Convalescence/Awareness
Does anyone know how much reduction forsight gives at i260?
I think it reached 10% a few patches ago. It might be at 20% at some point during Stormblood.
The best cooldown pairings? The ones that go with your healers' cooldowns! (Virus OP xD)
Defo FOF+COS with GB.
Can get 2 COS and GB's with FOF on.
Using DA+DD and Blood Price is just counterproductive, since Blood Price requires you to be hit by mobs to regain MP and the more mobs that hit you the more MP you get back, which means more DA+AD spam for damage and to get health back. Same with DA+DP, the Blind effect works against Blood Price.
They meant in straight up mitigation of the total dmg.
Its usually averaged out to be 5%, it can be more or less, depending on your gear compared to the content.
If I go i270 into some lower, no i cap, content, I dont usually see my HP drop below 95% of my max HP, and foresight ends up being strong enough to survive physical tank busters (Like Sophia EX, though depending on the dmg roll, i can now survive it w/o a CD)
When I 1st started some fights as DRK, and didnt have -20% or -30% CDs, Reprisal usually wasnt enough, so I would mix in foresight with it, to add the extra % into the mitigation. (plus it actually adds, rather that multiplies, due to affecting defense, rather than straight - dmg taken.)
Otherwise my weakest CDs on DRK are awareness and blood bath, so depending on the situation, i may stack them, but I tend to stack awareness with dark dance, so its usually not up.
I'm aware of what the abilities do. I'm not going to skip out on using Blood Price though when I know it's going to be back up again when I need it. All i'm saying is:
Trash pack A: I dark danced and I hit blood price. Able to spam Abysal.
Trash pack B: Dark Dance on cooldown. Still able to hit blood price. Able to spam Abysal.
I just don't understand why you would just let it sit there for the first pack. I'd rather just use it twice. Even though it's counterproductive on paper, in practice I would just waste a use if I refused to use it with Dark Dance.
So far DADP works better on huge pulls, missing 100pot on 3-4 packs is huge. DADD hasn't been a highlight for me at all. Even with Blind, you still get hit occasionally that your mana is still fine with DAAD, your mana when Blood Price is up on big pull is practially always full on big pulls anyway, hence why DADP on big pull is justified but DADD remains shitty mostly just because it is a waste of DA on something else, you normally hold DACnS on big pulls as well, not using DACnS just means that your mana is going to overflow and becoming a waste as well.
Example from Berke:

As long as your healer isn't WHM and no Holy spam, you are likely to be fine on mana.
Edit: cooldown pairing for the most part is somewhat useless because most CDs barely sync up. In some cases, you even use Skin+Wall, some even ToB+Vengeance. This is to allow tanking in DPS stance of course. DRKs don't even consider pairing up LD+Conva, theoretically a good one but in practice I haven't seen the pairing used heavily.
