Ok so this content isn't that hard. What is hard is finding a set group of 4 people willing to do it. Since by 3.5 this content won't be new or anything would it be possible to put it in the duty finder for matchmaking ?

Agreed. Let the challenge be in the content and party makeup, not artificial gating. I love nothing more than matching up and running with what I get. I don't want to go in with the "perfect" party. That's boring and runs counter to everything that makes PotD unique.
You've failed to understand the point of floors 101-200. All you're asking for is the ability to get bad players that ruin your save file by wiping you, though.
And no, the hard-Gameover on a teamwipe does NOT need to be removed. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT.
all i would want is that i can directly start with floor 101 with my set party if we reached it once without wipe.
No no no no no. If anything I think the premade party only thing should remain, you should be made to start from floor 1 not 51, to get to 101-200. And if you wipe, you should be forced to restart from floor 1 after a week long ban from POTD completely. With your stats reset to +0 on both arm and armor (or +1 if that's what it started at by default). And yes, I know a certain someone is going to come here and tell me not to have kids again... but I still stand by my beliefs in this. It should be a timesink in terms of getting to the floor, and then brutally difficult once you reach it, and failure should be punished heavily.
The main part of PotD 51-200 that i don't like -> even if you speedrun it, you still need around 6-8 hours to get to from floor 51 to 180+ , it's a gigantic time sink, and it does not reward you with anything, unless you are lucky and pull a mount. (other glam pieces dropped in prices dramaticaly)
The reason this isn't run much is because it is glamor content with a large time commitment making it hard for someone like me who really wants to do it. You can get a mount from it. I collect mounts which is pretty much the big pay off from it.
Why is it locked out of DF still? You can even queue for savage in raid finder which is progression content. I really hope this is put in df soon.
Tbh the worst thing about the POTD slog is floors 51-100 if they made it accessable from 101 if you reach it once that would be more than enough but after a wipe starting from 50 again is abit meh :/ and not everyone has that amount of time free all the time.
Horrible idea.
I'm fairly certain if you're asking for this you haven't touched 150+. No healer? Dead. Someone not on the ball with dodges? Dead, potentially even wiping the entire party. Some random pulling hate on a Chimera at a bad time? Everyone gets AOE'd and instant-wipe.
Many literally have enrage timers if your party (like most pickups in PotD) is playing half asleep.
And, welp, there goes hours wasted for everyone.
Pretty much this. Good luck with Behemoth on 170 (?) with randoms. I cleared 200, and the last 30 or so floors are some of the most mentally draining things I've ever done in this game. The rng nature of the place has you on edge constantly, because you know that one false move (chimera trains anyone?) is gonna make the last 4 hours you spent in the place mean absolutely nothing.
Players have been asking for content designed for groups / fcs for a long time. A reason to actually do something with there fcs /friends or others rather than just pug it in duty finder. It's small but potd is a start.
As for the time commitment. I really disagree. It saves after every 10 floors so even if you only have 45-60 minutes to play you could still make progress.
I've been doing it with the same group of people for 1.5 - 2 hours every Sunday (excluding the last 2 Christmas and new year) at floor 190 currently. probably have done it if we didn't farm floor for aetherpool.
It really doesn't take much time at all. 2 hours once a week. it's hardly a huge time commitment.
Tbh, floors 100-150 feels absolutely unnecessary and is the same boring/nochallenge/timesink/etc grind, as floors 51-100.
It would be better if they just released 151-200 as 101-150, skipping those 50 filler floors.
p.s. I like how location/design changes when you step into 151+ zone.
(a copy from my other post):
Wasting 6+ hours everytime just to get to a Floor 180+, when the "real challenge" starts (for some people it's 170+), is a huge repellent factor for me and some of my friends, i.e. i need to endure 51-170+ boringness until things start to get interesting, and no (this is an answer to some another person), you are not in a "tension" all the time in PotD, unless someone trigger 3-4 traps at once, while spawning Mimic and fighting mobs. Not until you hit that 170(180) Floor, that's when the "tension" part starts.
Even my best IRL friend refusing to go to PotD now after 3 runs, he don't want to "waste any more time on it" and his main argument is pretty much "Floors 51-150 offers no challenge and no rewards, i will fall asleep before completing that XXX times again, sorry". He only likes gold bags, though.
TL;DR Would be nice if 101-150 didn't existed.
Most of the people in my FC that run PotD don't try to run just 10 floors a week, they try to run the whole thing in one day. So that 4-8 hours or w/e is a pretty significant amount of time to lose. I'd actually feel WORSE if I spent 9 weeks getting to floor 190 and wipe than grinding away my saturday afternoon and wiping. I've avoided it simply due to the having to start over at lvl 51. Like others have said, 51-150 is very boring unless the party is bad and losing that time grinding through boring floors is just not worth it to me. I factor in "potential time lost" in my time commitment, not just setting aside time to do something, I guess.
I would prefer starting at 101 but wiping on floors 101-150 will only make you restart on the floor after the last boss you beat (111,121,131,141). Then on 151+, if you wipe, you lose all progress and start over at 101. To me, that would get more people to at least try it since the starting levels aren't that punishing. I'd settle for just starting at 101, tbh.
I agree with those that are asking to allow fixed parties to start at 101, if they've gotten there at least once. 51-100 is a slog.
I hate the fact that 8+ hours are required to devote to it at that very moment. Good luck finding 3 other people of complementary classes to want to sit down and do that stuff for 8 hours.
Actually no. Floors 101-200 isn't really hard enough to require a fixed party. And the great thing about opening it in the Duty Finder is that if people want to take the risk of getting wiped because of a bad player, they understood that when they used the Duty Finder, yet you can still go in with a fixed party if you want.
Having more options isn't a bad thing, especially for content that really isn't that hard.
It should be challenging and require coordination but at the same time it shouldn't be a complete pain to get a group together.
Actually, no. You can handle every floor without a dedicated healer just fine. You simply need to be careful and know when to exploit your self heals. Paladins can also serve a pseudo-healer if needed and we all know Warrior is just stupid with all its self-healing. Would the necessary coordination work in duty finder though? Probably not. At the same time, who cares? If you don't want to risk a bad group, you can still go in with a premade.
150+, there is a Flood Dragon mob that turns around to use an ice puddle AOE 5-6 sec after you pull it that does around half health on non tanks on impact and applies a frostbite that ticks for an insane amount of damage (5k per tick on dps) that will drop someone in about 2 ticks with no healing or cleanse. Need a fast cleanse for that or paean if no dodge. Worst mob in there.
Chimera is next since the voices need to be silenced and a non dodge causes a one shot. The worm doesn't use the draw in insta wipe unless you dps it too slow. Crawler uses a really bad poison but if you stun after getting slowed you can avoid it.
Rest of the mobs can be cheesed by stunning.
They can add it to DF, just put a difficulty warning. 101-151 is pretty easy though. Malboros are pretty cheap and the self destructing slimes are back but those are the only two mobs I remember being annoying in that bracket.
They are not going to remove the option of going in with a fixed party, if that is what you want. All we are asking is to let those of us that want to go in with matched to be able to do so. It is called give me the choice and I can decide what I want to do. To just have it gated for no REAL reason is ludicrous.
The funny part of this is that there REALLY is NO reason to have it gated. You can choose what you want to do if you want to go it with fixed party that is YOUR choice. Don't try to dictate what I am doing based on what you want to do. No one is asking you to join a mixed party if YOU do not want to. You queue as you see fit. What is the big deal? I pay $$ and I want to have a choice that's called freedom of decision. Is there an amendment for that? How about “Freedom of Choice” is a fundamental right, grouped with a “Right to Privacy”. The Ninth Amendment alludes to it and the Fourteenth Amendment enforces it.
First of all, you have no idea what the ninth amendment and fourteenth amendment are about. At least, not the US Constitutional Amendments. Maybe some othercountry. Second of all, freedom of choice is not a fundamental right. Third of all, throwing money at a company does not entail control of the product's further development. I also pay my sub and I want light speed on black mage. Does that mean they should give black mage light speed? No, it just means I want it and if enough people want it and if granting it would not piss off enough people that they leave and cost SE more money than granting lightspeed would gain, it would probably be a good idea to then do it. Even if it is a good idea, they are in no way obligated to do it. You didn't outright say they are obligated to, but you definitely implied it.
How can you try and make an argument and then use what I say to make the point? Read the paragraph you used. Is that NOT the same thing? I never said that they HAVE to do anything I did however ask for it and to quote you: "No, it just means I want it and if enough people want it and if granting it would not piss off enough people that they leave and cost SE more money than granting lightspeed would gain, it would probably be a good idea to then do it. " so don't just read whatever you think you read and present the same argument in a different spin. I asked for something that to me (and a lot of other people) would be a great thing for SE to implement. NO ONE ever said that they HAVE to do anything.
The end of your post implied to me that you were saying that they had to do it, with all the stuff about paying money, the constitutional amendments, and fundamental rights. I still think that's what you meant, but maybe it was just bad phrasing.
My argument was looking at it from a cost-benefit analysis. To be honest, though, I highly doubt it will have much of an impact on costs anyway. Most people probably won't quit or join the game either way.
Ahaha, no. No.
