Um.
Firstly, the cash threads are dying down. (Thank God.)
Secondly, you do realize there are entirely separate teams working on battle, system, and art, right? They aren't goimg to pull the lady off of making the boy bunny outfit for the Gold Saucer to tweak the math behind new mudra combinatiom timing to compensate server lag. That's not a modeler's job!
Instead of putting items in the cash shop put them as rewards for >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Raids are more fun than credit cards.
Please add cash shop support option for no more cash shop support :D
I'll be honest, I was secretly paying attention to this thread hoping nobody replied at all.
That would have been a good laugh.
I support a lot more customisation than race . If i get elezen want looks like Alisaie. If i get Hyrur i want more faces possibility.
is this the weekly butt thread? when are we getting 1.0 butts back?
My credit card doesn't yell at me and call me all manner of things just because I made one single mistake.
My card doesn't look down on be because I'm not an überl33t pwnage killing machine that's done god knows what to others mothers.
You might see what I mean, the Raid community can be a little too elite for alot of people.
I'm not saying everyone act like the "common" gamer elite.
But I also know alot of people that shun away from specific contents because they have been treated badly and are now afraid to try again.
Making mistakes in games is not a life threatening situation and alot of people have to take a chill pill sometimes.
I know people don't wanna waste their time either. But learning through mistakes is one of the best, if not the best way to learn new things. In games and real life.
But some people wants you to know everything beforehand and never make a mistake.
Yeah.... I'm kinda ranting atm.
Anyway, back on topic.
I support the idea of no more "X" threads. But I also know that'll never happen because people are never satisfied (almost) unless everything fits their taste like a glove.
Not that it's wrong to voice ones belief. But I understand how others might find it nothing but anoying when several threads about the same topic pops up everywhere.
And this is why as a mentor I take it extremely seriously to be a voice of calm, a voice of reason, and a voice of insight. If anything goes wrong, I will calmly explain what went wrong and how to deal with it, and then give everyone a rallying cry of encouragement to say they can do it. But I won't get salty (or at least, I won't show it, sometimes it's like "WHAT!?" but I'm just like "Well flipping out at them won't solve anything even if it feels like I'm talking to a brick wall").
My main issue with the cash shop is that things are priced in a way I believe most people are deterred from buying what they would otherwise buy, and I believe enough people are deterred from buying that net profit may be lower than what it could be.
A good example is the moogle mount, it is really expensive at $30, but it is also really cool. I ain't paying $30 for it though, with $30 I could buy a new game on sale, or multiple new games on sale, or pay for half of a brand new AAA game, or pay for overpriced BS download content (which is relatively much less BS than a $30 mount). Trying to grab $30 from me for what costs pennies to distribute and process payment fees is just greed, and out of principle it turns me off from the cash shop and believe me, I always think back to some especially overpriced things like the moogle mount when looking at new mogstation items and how I should avoid the cash shop out of principle.
Now if the price was $15 for the moogle mount, I think the price is a bit high but I could definitely see myself buying it to try to support the game. If the price was $10 I'd think it was fair, and I think a lot of people would be buying it because the mount is really nice looking and they wouldn't mind tossing $10 to show their support, and I strongly believe you'd get much more than 3x the number of sales than you'd get with the current price of $30. If the price was $5, a lot of people would be happy, no one would be b*tching about it being in the cash shop, and if other items in the cash shop were also made reasonably priced there'd probably be a lot of people who feel they should buy up a lot of different items in the cash shop and they would enjoy the game more for it and square would make more money for it. I know I probably would buy a lot of things on the cash shop if prices were reasonable, and I'm a really stingy person, but I can appreciate and would support a cash shop of a game that gave people high quality models at a price accessible to everyone even if they wanted to buy every item available on the shop.
Also, I think a lot of the mogstation models are really great. I really love the artwork and models in this game, and think it's a real shame that I only see a mog mount fly by maybe once every few dozen hours of playing. Pricing things out of range of what most people consider reasonable is making poor use of the great art that have been created.
The cash shop suggests otherwise, as the current highest selling items are:
Fantasia
Chinese Dress
Y'shtola's outfit
Previously, Sleipnir, Bennu and I think the Moogle mount were all ranked in their top three. Suffice it to say, people are buying them enough to warrant the current prices. If they weren't, Square wouldn't keep selling stuff that high.
Yes, when it's me that does wrong I am extremely harsh about it. When others do wrong, I am very calm about it. But with me, it was more what I did was actually against ToS in-game that was the reason for me acting the way I did. I am of the belief that if you break rules, you should get heavily punished for it. I've tried reporting myself to the GMs about it too when I've broken ToS. They didn't do a thing about it. (For clarification, this was before I became a mentor. But I'd had a really bad day and for some reason the WAR just refusing to even say a word and say he'd prefer to MT even with me as PLD just rubbed me too far the wrong way and I decided to ragequit. I was always of the belief that even at 50, PLD makes the better MT as WAR provides way more damage.)
yea people shouldn't be able to make threads about what they want!
man people are so selfish that they forgot other people don't want what they want and need to be quiet because they don't matter!
I beg to differ. If you over charge or even charge it and don't pay it will do a lot worse then call you names. Also if you don't own certain cards you cant do certain stuff (black platinum American express) lol
Stop using this as an excuse, ignore those types and move on. Get a group of nice people and play together, be more active and social. You know how much I get bullied online and how much crap I deal with...I ignore it and keep going, and always accomplish what I set out to do.
You can't rely on money to get you things in life this way, try raiding and doing stuff in game with actual friends and people that aren't jerks, it's a lot more enjoyable, I promise.
I guess you didn't get it, but my post was part silly, part sarcastic and part over-reacting.
You can read my second post which basicly explains what I meant with the first one.
Personally I play games for what I find enjoyable. Raiding is not one of those though, never been. I'm too casual to put in the time for it and don't think more about it.
Edit: yes, someone can misuse a card, but that is a real life thing and alot more serious then failing in a game. For that reason it's only logical that people would get mad at you.
Raging over a game is just silly. But I am no saint either. I have raged over games, alot. But I have learned to control myself and realize that a game is just a game, there's no reason to get mad over it.
Few years too late don't you think?
More people should have been against the cash shop in the first place. No going back now.
I'm not really against these threads of people asking for stuff....
But it would be nice if they could all be contained to a single thread... XD
Maybe they should make a cash shop forum section and remove any cash shop suggestions from the suggestion thread.
http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploa...y=70&strip=all
They should lock the forum behind the cash shop so then I don't have to be tempted to come here
but gems like shark fin soup and the recent one about the tribal gear make this train wreck of a forum so goood.
Firstly...secondly....thirdly....
Hey, this is the land of free speech. If people want to publicly demonstrate their lack of comprehension as to how things get done, and show their general unemployability due to a general disorientation to their own modern times, I say let 'em!
It's a free count...uh...internet, right? (Next thing you know they'll be asking to get these lame emoticons changed.)
