No though they likely will have a cross over event in FF14.
A Event of FF XV on FF xiv should happend after christmas i guess. I heared SE wanted players play FF xv first
Reminds me of that Odin statue, how long till people start to complain that an exclusive item is gated behind a x $/€ costing game?
Day 1 copies of FFXIII came with a bonus item for FFXIV even though (at the time) 13 was PS3 exclusive. You can argue that the management team of FFXIV has changed since 1.0, but the move itself isn't without precedent.
Hope not. It's not even a real FF game.
It would be funny if we see a Regalia mount :P
FF15 looks amazing, I'd love for an in-game event (with some Glam too which I normally don't care about, ever).
I don't want to know about that story. It's not a Final Fantasy.
I just really wish people would say "for me, it's not a Final Fantasy", because it's been one for more than 10 years, and a main number FF for years. If you don't like it, don't play it but no amount of denial is going to make SE pretend it didn't make it and call FFXVI XV.
No respect for the guy who's trying to turn FF into a KH spin-off. Why FFXIV is the best modern FF? because it's a Nomura-free FF.
My only beef with it is the use of real world items in the series. Things like the car and the cell phones in Advent Children hurt the immersion for me. It's one thing to invent something based on something real, but product placement in a Final Fantasy game is just cheesy.
That you dismiss it as "Teenage Roadtrip", which really could summarize, oh, every single Final Fantasy when you get down to it; short perhaps the MMOs, really makes it sound like you have no clue what you're talking about. FFXV's story is, plain and simple, the same as any other Final Fantasy. At least those that go with the "Evil Empire" angle. Which is all of them. Give or take the particulars of "Empire".
I am not telling anyone to not like it now, am I? Just the recent games have not been appealing. The depth of story is just missing, it doesn't pull me in anymore as they used to. And more than any other, this one gives me the "teenage Roadtrip" vibe. To each their own, I certainly won't be bothered with this game.
SE should close that thread ;(
Exactly, the PHS in FFVII was taken wholesale from real life, it is a real-world mobile phone/cellular service that formerly was popular in Japan and is still found in some Asian countries to this day. The branded phones in the Compilation only extended from that.
And besides, before you pass judgement even the linkshells here in FFXIV are effectively mobile phones in all but physical form (they give a phone like tone when someone is calling on them in cutscenes, and Cid even explained at one point that they use electromagnetic waves to function: i.e. radio. Which is how phones transmit information at their core.).
So real world concepts definitely do fit in the FF series (lets not also forget that the very first FF game featured a mechanical robot, a submarine/scuba diving, a holographic video display and a flying castle/airship too in an otherwise Tolkien-esque fantasy world of knights, castles, elves and magic, but that's another story...).
It's sad what the single player FF titles have become. 98% linear/completely on rails with no sense of adventure or freedom to play around. Just follow our boring rehashed story of war and betrayal from start to finish then throw the game away as there is no reason to ever look at it again let alone play through it again.
I considered pre-ordering ff15.... but the whole 'Bro-roadtrip' aspect has been so heavily pushed that its just turned me off the game entirely.
When the main marketing things I have seen for a game are a bunch of 'cool looking bros' and a raunchy reimagined cid.
I haven't been able to discern a relatable or inspiring or interesting story behind all that testosterone leaking out.
I also hate live action battle. I really enjoyed atb-style rpgs, which is why the ff series suited me really well. They took a key element out of the franchise.
Ff XII have the style of battle like ff xv if i remember well ( it getting old lol )
I'm quite hyped about FFXV. Final Fantasy XV: Brotherhood was amazing and made me enjoy the characters that I absolutely hated from the trailers. Kingsglaive was superb and laid down a starting foundation. Platinum Demo was really fun and I enjoyed the action, hack and slash inspired combat.
For those saying they don't like the fact there's no turn based combat; you've not been keeping up with the news. The game has in-battle "pausing" that allows you to set up moves. This was done to allow players to be able to breathe and still play the game, even if they are inept with action-style games. It's essentially a time-limited turn based gauge.
All I hope for is Lunafreya glamour for females in the event and Noctis for males. Please PLEASE SE do not make this cash shop exclusive. You have the opportunity to get players even more familiar with XV after they play it with an event in xiv.
