I don't know if this has been adressed previously, but I've been playing the game since 1.0 and I've always wondered why isn't there a way to voice chat with everyone in your party when desired to do so. This has been an ongoing problem across all platforms. PC players, Xbox, PS4, and Mac players can all chat with each other with others from their own systems only, why not make something in game for everyone to easily communicate with the party members. I know there are some really rinky dink work arounds out there so that everyone can talk, but to get to that point it's just to much work. Everyone should be able to be allowed an equal opportunity to communicate and enjoy the game together. By building this into the game, it allows everyone the opportunity to advance equally without unfair advantages.

I honestly dislike voice chat unless it's on something extremely difficult. I play late at night with people sleeping in the same room. I also like the anonymous nature of the normal type chat. It shouldn't matter who I'm playing with but as it is you really don't know and that's a great thing. Trying to make a cross platform chat function would be impossible without all the platforms agreeing on something which you know isn't going to happen.

I just set up Discord for my FC. They have an Android and iOS client as well, so the people on PS3/PS4 have been using that. It doesn't cover random duty finder stuff, but I don't really want to talk to them anyway. Nobody in the FC has to use it, but the people who do use it seem to enjoy it.

As long as I can completely forget the feature exists, I wouldn't mind it. I only use voice chat with my FC and even there, only very very sparingly - that is, in raids. And even there I don't speak but rather chat, so I don't have to hear my own voice.

Because the built in voice chat is always worse than the dedicated ones. And Yoshi-P didn't want it to become a requirement because its in the game itself.
It would also take away resources better used elsewhere. -

I only use Discord with friends and my static. To be honest, I'd rather not give the 500 DPS Duty Finder superstar a way to vocalize how the rest of the group is horrible after he stands in three AoEs and went from 100-0 with no way for the healer to save him.

I'd have it turned off 24/7. I only use discord, last thing I want is to hear someone's horrible music blaring, that guy who doesn't know how to blow his nose, the girl who thinks she can sing....I'll pass on it all.

I don't really want to hear random people's voices, or hear god knows what people may play on their mics when I'm running through idyllshire. I've seen what happens with the open mic policy in elder scrolls online and things get weird sometimes. -

I dont think its necessary to use up resources to create an ingame voice chat feature.
Most people will keep using teamspeak or discord (just like back then when WoW made one and noone used it).
The players who use a PS4 usually have a teamspeak or discord app installed on their phones. -

WoW has ingame voice chat... most people don't even know its there, even less people use it, if at all.
TS, Ventrilo, hell Discord is all thats needed and then some.

In game voice will make fights much easier, every night when I'm playing feast I hope teammates can hear what I'm saying so I don't need to type them out. Especially when I'm the healer.
But then I realize... if they can hear "I need mp manasong plz now!" they can also hear "Wtf is this **** doing he's blind or what" lol

It is not good idea.Like parsers, can be used to harass or starting demand people use it, which is a legit decision use it or not, no one can decide it for your. Voice chat it is better only for friends or statics. And using Discord with is free and run also on smartphones is enough. And not, it is not required for savage or any other content. Can help of course, but is not essential.

Harassment wouldnt only be limited to female players though - this was discussed before and I'll repeat myself: As soon as they add a voice chat to the game its a pretty strong signal that the content is supposed to be played using voice chat, making it a mandatory option for things like PF or even DF. And no, thanks - its easy enough to get a voice chat working with the game, if you WANT that. No need to waste ressource on an ingame voice chat that has enough potential to cause harm...
(I could also imagine that it would be more difficult for the GMs to take actions against harassment that happend in voice chat - they can acces our chat logs, but... if they would want to do the same with the voice chat they had to record it... so...) -
