Just how different are the 13 jobs with regard to secondary stats?

I've just recently started to take note of how much impact secondary stats have on jobs, and I'm trying to adjust my gear choices accordingly.

However, as I try to keep every job up to at the very least the item level requirements for duties, I'm finding that I'm at a loss when it comes to what jobs want what secondaries. However, considering how crit impacts on two levels (rate and output), are there any jobs that DON'T want crit on their gear?

WHM is Crit/DET, Det @ 0.342 (or something), But i do SpS/Det bc SpS is more useful to a WM then other healer as it makes the already powerful HOT heals OP as fuck, and Det is 3x higher then Crit in stat weight. So i dont use crit on WHM as it not very usefull, like it is on SCH/ASL

You can all was go Det>Crit>SpS for whm and work for all 3... but i do just fine solo healing A9S/A10S and still ify n A11S with SpS/Det build whm.

No, Crit is bar none the best secondary stat in the game, everyone wants some crit.
That being said, some jobs will favor Skill/spellspeed, Det is decent, tanking stats are not as good as Crit in most cases.

WHM is the only job that can get away with no high crit, SpS/Det build works very well. Not saying you cant or dont have too.. But it work grate for me with just 670 Crit, I have 987 Det /1012 SpS and my heals are jusy fine, iv tryed the Crit SpS build and it good to.. but my OH % was 47% with crit/SpS or Crit/Det build... were with SpS/Det it only 26-32% OH ( Dont for get im talking solo heal build here) and i have better HOT heals now. Crit is more usefull on SCH & ASL for Shields and Crit heals.. sure crit heals are good on all heals but whm can get away with it easyer as we dont need crit as much as other 2

Accuracy (to the cap) > Crit > Det > Skill/Spell Speed seems to be decent enough...
Maybe work some Piety in there among Det and Speed for healers...

If you know how to not over heal/use/do pre caster for heals you don't need Piety

SkillSpeed does not scale with the MCH's turret (which is 15% or more of their DPS).
It is by far the worst stat for them. It does less for them than practically any other class.

Ya but i only have 14000 mp.. and dont add any Pity, no point 1-2k more wont make a big diff.Im 100% comfortable with 13/14k Mp it rare as fuck that i run out in a dungen. and even when soloing endgame i get low a few time.. but only run out on learning party till they get it down.

It the one job you dont need to pack crit on too or pity

Totally wrong. In most cases: 5 critical hit rate = 1 str/int/dex

In Black Mage's case: 3 spell speed = 1 int. Black mages that stack spell speed have a significant advantage over those that don't.

Law of Large Numbers balances this out very well. With how many instances you roll for crits in the average Raid or Boss fight, it evens out the RNG significantly.

But the increase from materia stacking alone is hard to make this a large number worth a difference. People don't realize this i guess. Gear alone is all you ever need to make a difference in this game, since there are stat caps on notable gear with your desired secondary.

Stat weights are calculated by absurd amounts of testing. You make it seem like it's just theorized damage, which it is not.

The power of secondaries has been proven numerous times in the past with world first clears. Groups were able to bypass gear checks.

No matter what you believe, you are gimping yourself somewhat by thinking secondary stats are not important. If you don't bother to meld any of your gear then you're missing a decent chunk of dps.

I usually go Crit/Det with most jobs after I gear to meet Accuracy caps (I don't meld accuracy into any of my tank or DPS jobs).

I haven't really messed much with melding healers, and I am still unsure which stats to prioritize with each of them. So I'm not quite sure which ones they benefit from--though I think SCH benefits a lot from Crit (those Crit-lo <3).

For bard, I used to do Crit/Det, but now I have switched to favor more Crit/Skill Speed. And I think it works out nicely for me. My det on my bard is probably low by some's standards, but I'm fine with it.

For monk, Skill Speed is pretty important, too. I believe you want to have over 700 skill speed for monk, and then prioritize Crit/Det. My monk has 730-ish skill speed right now. But I am a terrible monk, and only play the job for funnsies, so don't quote me on monk stats. ^^;

As someone else said before, BLM benefits a lot from Det/Spell Speed. An FC mate of mine main's and raids with SMN, and he prioritizes Crit/Det.

Really, I think it all boils down to preference, at the end of the day. There may be a "right" answer, but people will still contest it if they have different opinions on which stats are more meaningful to them.
