Worth a shot.
I feel it is horribly inconvenient to put maintenance on reset days. People might need those last few hours to cap or clear some piece of content.
Please move maintenances to the night after weekly resets (or any other night).

Oh for Gods sake.
Every single time.
They made capping tomes a day quicker and yet these threads still come up, you can never win. Don't leave it to the last minute next time.
There's a whole week to do that stuff...
A week.
Fixed it for you!
Jokes aside and me being a bit mean.
There is no such thing as a good maintenance time when it's a game being played worldwide. Someone will always get the short end of the stick. It is perfect for me as an European. Because I still have the entire night before reset. Not so good for US people where it falls in your night.
I am capped and have everything cleared for the week. It is human nature to put things off, and it makes much more sense to give people the time instead of ending weekly reset early.
Why do people assume this is because I didn't cap so I must have to post a thread about it. Please be a bit more respectful as I was actually trying to look out for the community. I see a lot of PF trying to clear things at last minute at 10pm.
Do it right after reset/weekends also it was announced the whole time lmao
You pay a Sub for a game and can't seem to cap tomes with 5, 1hr dailys? 5days! For 1hr a day! That's all it takes..... Log in for 1hr do Exp.. Log out...
I made a thread like this once, and people tore me apart verbally. Good luck buddy.
I was going to type up a short tirade over why it's regular maintenance is when it is, and why putting it after the reset would be stupid...
But then I realized it'd be much shorter to cut to the chase and just note that people will always complain no matter what.
I'd love to know what these people the OP mentions are doing.
I have a family, a home and work full time today is my first day off in TEN days and I still managed to cap.
Okay y'know what, no.
There are 168 hours in a week. Maintenance cuts that time off by no more than 3 hours, except before major patches. That is 165 hours in which to do whatever weekly caps you may need. If you didn't do it up until then, the only cause would be that you have other stuff going on in life. And that's life. Shifting maintenance to be after a reset would not help anyone in this regard.
But y'know what would be a pain to a lot of people? If the very evening after a reset, when they're having fun getting fresh rewards for the week, they're suddenly kicked off for maintenance. Which does happen in emergencies, and is a major bother to a lot of people. Not just some silent faction you claim to be speaking up for.
I would like for you to read again what you typed there. And to go back to my reply.
Someone will always get hurt, no matter when you put the maintenance.
There are no but's and if's. Even is you went with the situation of "put maintenance a few days before reset."
That one specific day and moment, might be the only moment for someone to play. The world is a large place with more than millions of people habiting it. There will always be that 1%/0.1%/0.01%.... that will not benefit from it.
If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it. Spark has an opinion, and regardless of whether you like it or not, it is his.
Not just about capping tomestones..
Why are you so hostile? Why are you taking this so personally? And boohoo if someone can't get a clear on reset night, they have 6 days ahead of them, see that works in reverse too.
Also everyone in here that is griping seems to forget THERE IS MORE TO CAPPING THAN TOMESTONES,
Alex Normal and Savage are also something to be discussed and take up a lot of time and add in rng.
Of course someone always suffers, you know who suffers most for every maintenance is PST users, but that's another issue. To me it appears as a cost benefit analysis the ones who suffer most with maintenance are PST users on reset nights hence this suggestion which people get pretty rabid about for reasons that are completely beyond me.
Really? The sjw has got this far in the US?
Wake up and smell the roses, you little sensible panda. Either you make a post and wait for a debate and don't get hurt by sarcastic and mean replies, or don't post at all.
More healthy is to have an opinion and stick to it and view from multiple angles.
P.s sorry for offtopic ...
I am NOT a social justice warrior. Please don't ever make such a ridiculous assumption again. All I was asking was to respect an opinion, because I get the feeling he will be verbally harassed on this forum. To be fair, I don't even agree with him, but I still understand where he is coming from, and I respect him.
I will stick to the topic this time .
As it was announced with more than 3 days before the maintenance, I can't really agree with your opinion.
The problem with moving said maintenance time, is that you then end up screwing over the CET playerbase. Move it earlier and you end up screwing the Japanese playerbase. There is no winning and satisfying people when it comes to maintenance time is simply what I'm trying to say.
And this is coming from someone that had to endure losing 1 game day during maintenance back in the FFXI days. When S-E decided to put it in european prime time.
Was it annoying for me and can I understand the pain? Hell yes!
Did I openly start to complain and ask for it to be moved on forums? No
Why is that? Because I was understanding and knew back then when I was but a teenager that there was no safe middle-ground.
The only moment where there is a good safe time for maintenance, only applies to MMO's where the game is seperated by region. Examples: Aion, Tera, GW2 and so on. Where each region is handled by another company. FFXI & FFXIV has servers where everyone plays together. And is handled by 1 company.
They already said that they check what times there are more people online, and schedule the maintenance at the times when less people will be affected.
They don't choose a random time or care less about certain demography over others. They have the data and they use it.
Sorry about the people who couldn't finish their weekly caps, but is still mostly their own fault.
Thank you, I appreciate your maturity very much.
You assume that said person NEEDS to rush, not that they have life, obligations, priorities. I never need to rush, I am always capped and bored by Friday so again, this isn't about me.
Is still relevant: As time goes by, more and more people are done with their weekly caps, and therefore, less and less people will be affected by a maintenance on the last day.
If is of any comfort, you still have some more hours left before the actual reset... if a game is so important to you, then you would be trying to get those things done until the last second anyway.
But again, I jump back to my reply mentioning that even moving it on another day will not solve the problem. It's merely shifting the problem so that other people become encumbered by it. You're going with the assumption that everyone can play each and every day. Say that they shift it a day earlier. Well that one day and hour might be the last day that those group of people can play before reset. It does not solve anything. It only moves the problem in someone else their shoes.
Also, I'd like to say that all my replies are written in a calm tone. Even if it comes across a bit harsh. I'm just being straight-forward.
The complain is just ridiculous you would have the same time to play either way they just choose the time when most ppl finished their stuff and even announced it before. If those ppl had rl stuff to do its no excuse cause others have that too devs won't adjust on your schedule guess what some ppl don't have time on reset day then it would be the same problem lol
oh do shut up...
Uh... That doesn't solve anything. A magically increase amount of time doesn't magically form just because you move maintenance.
available playtime is still the same.
No I hear and respect what you are saying and I agreed there will always be people who suffer no matter what. People can attack me all they want as I have said so many times I am not doing this on my behalf so their posts are pretty moot. It basically feels like a jip to cut reset off 3 hours early.
