1rst lieutenants reporting for duty!

Got my promotion Saturday, but it seem we are still quite the minority. So I figured why not make a thread so people can post their bragging rights (until it become mainstream at least)

I would be one but silly me decided to dismiss high level members for a cute au'ra/miqote.

did yesterday too, kinda disappointed by the reward of the special assignement and the fact we can only do one per week. the item given are kinda garbage for a lot of us... maybe with the expansion they will get usefull... but since it's faster to level up in the palace of the dead, what is the point of scroll increasing the exp earn, seal, symbiose and such.
however some new affinity are kinda neat like have a % to get materia as reward from a mission.

absolutely guilty of this. kept one token lala and one roe for racial diversity, and the rest are qts

I'm not sure it's really bragging rights as it's not exactly hard to get... both my character, my two alts and a few people in my FC have done it and I haven't even asked around!

They're essentially an additional FC buff, which means that many people can now have three things going at once. They may not all necessarily be useful all the time, but all of them have reasonable application.

That aside, I got my promotion today. I got a bit lucky in not needing to dismiss too many people to get a team I wanted. Just had really bad luck with failures.

probably, but it don't change that when you get lieutenant, you have already a very high level. and most of this buff are....well nice but it's not what you do expect from mission you can do only 1 time per week as reward.

Could be worse. It could be what it seemed to be at the start, itemless retainer ventures. Or, more frustratingly, the same sort of crap retainers pull anyway. Send off a level capped retainer, it comes back with level 1 fish.
And, as you said, these personal FC style buffs are on top of the things they can be made to bring back anyway, like Materia or Clusters.

The food buff alone would be a great help for raiders.

Those buffs are very potent and even if you aren't levelling now they will be very handy when you have to go from 60-70.

like i have said, i don't say they are bad by design, but honestly i have almost every jobs maxed, i don't really need to symbiose anymore with palace of the dead and tribal quest. repair? i repair my stuff myself... gold saucer m...yes... why not, reduction of teleportation cost? honestly?

anyway, all i say is for a mission we can do only 1 time per week.... it's low as reward. especially since they are kinda hard to do. then, why not add stuff more relevant for a 1 time per week mission?

I got my rank up 19.5 hours ago ^.^ Now to stock up on GC seals with the lovely new cap. Interesting that, if I read correctly, the new missions that you get you can only do one a week, which will definitely slow down level progression. Wondering if there will be another squadron rank up mission at level 50 with more missions available?

i doubt it the mission are level 40 we can safetly guess that the max level is 50...

The promotion boosts your GC seals cap to 80,000. Worth it I say.

ohhh another complain is the look of the lieutenant stuff... i'm a monk or tank generally, and gridania lieutenant stuff is.... a caster robe.... *sighs*

it was a chemistry that was increasing the gain of exp of the squad, i did see it too, but i can be wrong, my higher is 48 i will know soon enough

I had some struggle about which one should I trained. Any help/recommendation is appreciated.

I have squadron composition MRD/CNJ/ARC/ROG, they are level 42. The subs are 2 THM, ROG, and ACN. I had rank 3 promotion mission with requirement 315/325/340, while my squadron now is 315/355/322. So what should I do with this?

I thought in another post talking about squadron chemistry there were examples of chemistry that didn't come into effect until they were above level 50? Will try and hunt out the post in question :)

EDIT: while I can't for the life of me find the post about it, the incredibly awesome squadron calculator (http://ffxivsquadron.com) does list "Above level 50" as one of the chemistry conditions.

Yes I had one squadron with chemistry when above level 50, 5% exp increase

Yeah my highest is currently 47 so I am very intrigued what will happen when 50 rolls around ^.^

So I'm guessing max level will be 60, just like with our own characters. Hoping they get a rank up and new missions after level 50 with higher exp rewards!

Got it a couple days ago. Now I'm just slowly leveling everyone to 50 and trying to get stat boosting affinities on them.

I expect the level cap to raised in the future with harder missions, so I'm preparing for the future.

You might need to change class for some members to maximize all trainng attributes.

I'm actually 1st Lieutenant in 2 GC's now.

Just transfer 20 of your second stat to your third stat through training. There's a calculator somewhere, that can calculate it for you, if you have trouble.

You have to do multiple different trainings.
If you give me your training enhancements (the numbers you see when you access the training board), I can tell you which trainings you have to do.

Okay so I use my 1st training today to increase physical and tactic. And now they're 120/120/40, while my squadron's stats is 338/318/344.

Hm... okay. You will need 4 more trainings, sorry, didn't find a better solution. (that first training you did today screwed it up a bit)

You are now as follows:

+20/-20/0

(+20 = at least 20 above requirement; -20 = less than 20 under requirement; 0 = no more than 20 above requirement)

To reach 0/0/0 you need to:

Train the first two stats again (+20/+20/-40), so you are at: +40/0/-40
Then train only strength (+40/-40/0): +80/-40/-40

Now train the second and third stat two times to reach (-40/+20/+20): 0/0/0

So how many seals does the promotion cost? I need to know how badly I need to start saving up lol.

Promotion is free, believe the mission that grants it was 2,000 seals.

Happened to check my requirements and fiddled around after levelup on the last mission just prior to maintenance...

And got a bound to succeed on the level 40 rank up mission.


We'll see if I manage to rank up after it finishes. :3

...I hope when I deploy before weekly reset, the new requirement stat didn't affect while in deployment .-.
