...I've been looking through the Goldsmith recipes on the Lodestone and I'm not seeing any recipes for non-dated rings/earrings. Sure I can go ahead and make some dated jewelry, but where are the non-dated accessories?

Not implemented yet. Probably will be in 1.20.
^ there's no new recipe for goldsmith, alchemy and cooking. They'll show up in next patch
So until then we are forced to nom dated ham sandwiches D:
I'm guessing goldsmith rings and jewelry are being saved for the "dropping of slot cost" for jewelry. He said we'd be able to wear every piece of jewelry that we have a slot for at once, but for that jewelry must become less potent. I'm guessing they're rebalancing stats on jewelry now, and we'll see them back by 1.20 or 1.21. Without it, it kills goldsmith. You still have weapons and little things you make, but jewelry was a main repairing/making market for goldsmith. While my goldsmith is not leveled high I feel sympathy as a crafter, being a weaver if they took away the ability to make body pieces of something crucial to the class, I wouldn't be happy, so here's to hoping they bring jewelry back in 1.20.
i wonder if you will be able to make materia rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. The level requirements would have to change though unless they are going to allow 20+ str rings to be equiped at 41. It would have to only allow tier 1 or tier 2. That might actually give those materia value!
I remember hearing that culinarians and Alchemists were getting updated recipes in 1.20. Didn't think about other recipes being added alongside them.
Deceptistar? Your sig cracks me up. xD Except I thought the Grid salute was more like the I Dream of Jeannie "magic nod" lol http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...photos/1-1.jpg
^^That, and the LL salute is actually British, not American. :p
all jewelry is dated
US troops and British troops actually salute slightly differently. The British (and LL) salute show the back of the hand when viewed from the front. The American one shows the edge of the hand when viewed from the front. Also, Americans don't do the stomp to attention thing that the British and LL soldiers do. >_>
Actually, the salute as far as the hand placement and position is American. The foot stomp could be British.

That is definitely not palm out but palm in. Here are the respective salutes and that is much closer to US Military than British as far as the hand goes.

And tbh, after serving in the military, no offense to General Gates, his salute is "unsat" and lazy.
oh great attack of the how-to-salute nerds.
Okay, so I never zoomed in to see if it was palm in or out, but considering that the American one is palm-down. . . Well, I can't say that it's closer to the British one for that, but combined with the stomping, I'd still peg it as overall closer to the British salute.
Also, yay for completely derailing this topic. :D
The fear I have with the changes to jewelry is will it force people to use up more inv space for gear to get the same effect they could've gotten with 12/12. Since they do have to adjust the potency of the jewelry to balance it out to me it feels like we'll just need to wear more to get the same effect we could've gotten before if we just stuck with the 12/12 limit lol.
