Issue with the new apartments

Well..um, when my FC and I bought this house for 100M+ back when they first came out we did not intend to have this be right near our house >.<

None of my FC Likes how it looks..and they want to move lol, posting on behalf of them..but I doubt anything will change...it used to look so nice here T_T

I can say for sure if this is how it was back then we would not have paid that much for this property :x I know I know..lucky to have a house (Yea well we farmed MORNING till NIGHT for 3 months STRAIGHT daily so don't give me that)

Could it be scaled down or option to hide it even? >.< We are not the only FC/people who feels this way...at least the one's I have spoke with. It looks like a giant factory is right near our house lol.

Every other city it blends in nicely it seems like but this one is just..bleh...

Welcome to the ugly side of land development. Now you know how people feel when companies bulldoze trees or tear down beautiful old buildings to put in ugly mini-malls or condos. :/

I agree that the LBs buidling is the least attractive of the three (someone once said it looks like a prison and I agree) but you are right, I can never see SE changing it now that it is in.

My FC has the large to the right of the apartments in Mist. Haven't heard any complaints yet. You are right, ours blends into the mountainside very well and there were already those structures on the sides of the hills. The apartments just look like a larger version of them.

Maybe they can tweak it a bit to look more like a giant tree house/forest type thing? It's not moving ever and I very much doubt they're going to assign a graphical option for a handful of houses to hide it. At best you could make some suggestions to beautify it and hope they take that into consideration.

Honestly, the one in the Mist doesn't look much better at night. I think the problem is the amount of "window lighting".. it's just overdone in comparison to the structures around it (even in the Mist), to the point of looking fairly fake since usually at least some windows would be dark.

Meanwhile, the roof of my house *still* doesn't have lights. >.< Maybe the apartment complex stole them.

My fc has their mansion right next to this in the lavender beds. I told yhem beforehand "there goes the neighbourhood. We are now in the projects"

My FC leader said essentially the same thing. "There goes my property value!" First world problems.

It's really not that bad. I mean how often are you standing that far away from your large house? If you don't like it, just up and demo the house and let others have it. I'm sure there are plenty who would be grateful to own a house.

P.S. Just because you spent x amount of gil on a house does not mean SE has to accommodate you.

Well that does happen since you don't own the land outside your lot, probably not as big of issue making it out to be.

I run an FC and have the same plot (We were the first LG house on our server and paid way more than 100m(ward 1 of course)) I love our new neighbors! Lots of people running up and down that bridge that used to be a bridge to nowhere. More people in the housing area is nice, it reminds me of back when housing first came out and we had actual communities instead of just empty houses with empty gardens that came with the private home ownership rush.

I'd say for that particular plot we are standing away from our house that far atleast 50% of the time. The trip up that little hill is where the Market Board, Summoning bell, and vendors are. There is also a tiny well that must be guarded by a lala at all times or the zombie will escape.

Haha. That's how I feel about mog and chocobo exteriors. Muh property value!

So far I only heard of house owners being happy that so much life returned to their immidiate surrounding, but then again, I got my apartment in the Goblet (my own choice, not because others were already full..what's with all the Goblet hate btw xD).

Over there, absolutely nothing changed since the building was there before, the bridge leading up to it was there before, heck, even the ENTRANCE DOOR was there already! Only change is an extra market board and retainer bell and chocobo stable, which said direct neighbour house owners are actually happy about since before, those houses were grade 5 plots that were a whole journey away from the next MB and now it's right out their garden :)

I have been busy furnishing my apartment, so I haven't spent much time at my house since yesterday, will need to check how bad it looks ingame in my ward. SeraphimXI's picture does not make it seem that bad, but then again, it's daytime so the lighting wouldn't be a problem.

A little blown out of proportion for sure. I checked it out for myself last night. Granted I can't compare to what it was before but it looks fine to me. I tried to make our FC one in mist look bad by trying different angles too but just couldn't find a complaint. Even from my house on plot #1 it looks fine.

Agree with all of this (and I actually chose Uldah/Goblet too as the 1st choice for an apartment..they have the best sunrise of the 3 areas! Go watch it!)

OP...if you were trying to prove point using the pic..methinks it had the opposite effect....that looks BEAUTIFUL at night! It reminds me of the sylph's territory (and strangely reminds me of Legend of Mana for some reason lol) Either way, it can't be all that bad~ Aside from the fact that you're more than likely to hear your roe'n'lala neighbors makin the bed creak, now you'll have lotsa activity in your area to liven things up.

On the other hand..I kinda get your pain a little. I spent about 2 months trying to find that place that fit me JUST right (Lav beds plot 49 by a quiet pond and a big ole tree ina nice shady corner!) so If SE decided to suddenly add houses to block out my view...ya..I guess Id be a bit..annoyed too.

Thankfully our FC house up top is not near the Apartment complex

Oasis apartments are in the best spot on a cliff overlooking the city and a waterfall.
