Ok its about time we start figuring some of these things out NOW!

3.4 will be here tomorrow and us serious crafter/gatherers need to start our collective brainstorming!!

Patch notes next to new recipes have not listed what is SPC required and what is not; however its MORE THAN SAFE to assume spc DID NOT GO AWAY...

As anticipated BSM is OP this patch i think they have the longest list of new recipes and a few pre mats required in other recipes! Let's start with them first; so it appears there is a new desyn materia that comes from WEAPONS!?? And if that is so my guess is it's just like patch 2.x where u needed to desyn primal weapons to make the newer primal weapons. So we'll probably have to desyn Nidhogg or Sephi maybe even thordian and Alex savage to get desyn materia ( i am honestly thinking its 235 weapons plus so that would only mean Nid; Deep dung; old lore weapons (240); and Midas savage 245). Make sure we figure that out asap and share with the community!


ALC has made a comeback for the SECOND TIME in a patch!! I for one am very happy for ALC, whom before last patch were back to back losers second to ARM( rip to ARM this patch.....#pour40ounceOverGrave). Dissolvent 3 has made its debut and taken the place of Diss 1 (diss 2 never counted....) and its used in similar fashion to Diss 1; All this again is good for ALC as they again for a second patch have a hand in every final syn gear made and not without an assortment of crafts! ALSO ALC has yet another set of new str/dex/vit ...etc potions!!! I think it's overkill; but for sure hardcore raider like anything that gives them even a .001% increase in overall raid dps :) (I would buy it if i can get to see a 20k crit fire IV). Last thing about ALC; there is a new recipe with the name cordial in it....hmmm....MORE GP IS ALWAYS ALWAYS WELCOME (if thats what it is). edit watered cordial is GP but its LESS THAN regular cordial (which makes sense given the name) but what the hell??? it better be on its own CD...probably not....

Yo!!! What's up man. Yeah, I've been trying to prep for this patch too. BSM/ARM/WVR thinking I can make bank. I'm on Gilgamesh now though (about a month now), and I think I've figured out the market trend. There's a crap ton of players here though, and even more crafters than back on Sargatanas, so we'll see how things go. Good luck to you bruh!

CRP makes Teak Lumber, which is needed for basically everything, including the larger aquariums - it also requires 9 borax per synth (2250 seals ouch)

CUL food could be godlike, or it could be worthless. CP food or Crit/SS or Crit/Det food would be an amazing addition, otherwise I think it'll be mostly worthless.

Totally didn't consider the CRP and Aquarium equation. Nice. I have a friend prepping CUL. She's been gathering mats for weeks...

I'm still hoping for that Crit/Det food <3

Also BSM seems kinda bad, all the 250 weapons require the new demicrystals which seem extremely hard to get, might be worth leaving out BSM as a spec this round..

Well that depends. I've been saving up in anticipation for the mats being hard to get/expensive. So I'll probably have to buy them in order to make new BSM weapons. Gotta spend money to make money lol </3

I've had BSM special since the specialist system was added, but I'm thinking to just make the weapons that I want early and then switch specialist to something that will last longer this round. BSM doesn't really cover that many of the weapons because CRP, GSM, ALC can all make some weapons too. GSM does the BLM rod and AST star globe in addition to accessories. ALC is going to have super lasting demand from Supra potions and G3 dissolvents.

Borax and other GC comp are the easiest thing to get (not hq but well..)
If everyone do their GC turn in at 60 you get around 15k to 20k dpeending of star each day
Which greatly cover your use

Except if mass produxing then it can be tight

I expect cul recipe to be really relevant this time

nawwww u going about it all wrong!! MOST of the gil that is made in game (if you're not a super duper dedicated crafter) is made within the first few weeks of a new patch; EVERYONE HARDCORE DOWN TO SOFTCORE will need a weapon and bsm makes tanks(3)/mnk/nin/mch (6 of the 13) while nin and mch are so-so in demand TANKS?! 100% HIGH DEMAND and mnk is pretty popular as well! Also consider for long term that BSM makes glam and a few pre mats used in other syns (heavy metal ingots etc).

BSM is definitely NOT the SPC to give up; at least not yet...

FSH got shafted again, if you're the type of FSH that likes to be a part of the eco.... while, yes several new big fishes were added; if we're not to believe the current trend; all those fishes only desyn into something useful at less than 1% and are typically have very particular req's to catch..... we got one CUL recipe that requires a big fish catch; one that is very ez to come across....we can only hope the MEAL is useful... or return to RIP FSH......

CRP like someone just mention is PRETTY OP THIS PATCH! more so than BSM; CRP gets 3 weapons several accessories and a few premats; and if you're into glam that too!! CRP is a great SPC this patch!!

I would assume Demicrystals will be like spiritbounding your gear. People will do their day to day grinding to charge it up, once it hits you have a lil baby. Doesn't make sense for it to destroy your weapons in the process. Read its description "Aetherial residue seeped forth from spiritbound weapons".

So don't expect and "day 1" i250 crafted weapons or anytime soon. Yoshida said the new crafted weapons are "new endgame". People have always complained crafted weapons were always really weak. This is his response, granted the weapons will be obsolete once people get the newer earned weapons. Also worth mentioning these i250 crafted weapons can be fully pentamelded.

FSH is not left out as far as "gil" goes. The fish for aquariums will most likely have to be caught. One of the mats needed looks like it might be a Diadem caught fish. And gloaming coral and blue cloud coral are gonna shoot the moon because of one of the grade 3 dissolvents. Luckily for me I bought 100's of grade 2 dissolvent mats thinking they would be brought back, they weren't BUT the mats used to make them are half the mats used in the new grade 3's. :D

Looks like WEV and LTW will need each others mats, nothing new here. ARM/GSM/BSM need each other as well as far as mats go. Seems like you could go GSM/BSM or ARM/GSM. GSM has an ingot they both need. ALC is a MUST, Im currently ARM/LTW/WEV. I will drop ARM for ALC. I saved up soul of crafter incase I hade to change. I will save up more soul of crafter to change spec "teams" all at once if I can.

Luminous Fiber and Hive forewing are my first targets once I log. I will then proceed to buy up dubbin, schelite, saurian skin, borax (I have about 500 already, teehee) , gobcraft resin, wattlebark, glass fiber and carbonfiber. I have stacks of Battle demi III's and everything else. I spent 20mil+ prepping the past few weeks. Sitting on about 100mil and hope to double that by a couple weeks from now. Make about 20mil a day in sales when i put in the work (about 6-8hr). Fingers crossed! GL \o/

Naw I disagree; for SE to do what you're suggesting would demand implementing yet another system that needs testing/feedback from the community for proper adjustment. A more reliable approach would be to continue what they know has been functional in times b4; notice the recipe for new weapons follows exactly that of the old 2.x primal weapons: battlecraft a few end game mats and primal desyns; this setup looks exactly the same just fewer mats; and we know the demi crystals comes from weapons (somehow) a new system?? or the same old desyn that we've been doing for almost a year now? We'll see... lastly take notice of the name demimateria; it follows the same naming scheme of the old mats (demimateria of crag; ...of inferno;....of vortex; demimog demimateria; all of which risked desyn old ex weapons at a chance of new mats)


THERE WILL BE SEVERAL NEW FIRST DAY WEAPONS!! I hope to be among the first to make them.

Old lore- 1-2 possible
Nidhog - 2 possible
deep dung - 2 possible
upgrade lore - 2-3 possible
Alex savage - 3-4( or 4-5) possible * its so close to 250 and the hardest by far to get....may have it basically reward those players with less steps.

Well, if you're right, then not allot will be on mb anytime soon. Peeps will be gearing themselves up before selling spare. I know I am. And I highly doubt allot of ppl will have high enough levels of desynthesis to even succeed. I will be dumping Roundtable weapons up if that's the case. I will switch my ARM to BSM and spam out them glam weps all day. All my other points were spot on tho.

Judging from the naming convention of demicrystals (demi being the key prefix) as well as the description, I think it will be possible to desynth them from fully spiritbound weapons. Whether or not you need weapons of a specific tier (over 50, over 60, primal only) is hard to weigh in on. It would follow the same desynth game that's been ongoing but adding in an element of another system already in place which is spiritbinding.

If past conventions hold true (being that goblacquer, Titanium Carbide, Scintillent nugget, Goblinol, Invisible Ink, and Hemicyon Hides are all 20 Lore for NQ, 50 Lore for HQ) I'm coming up with a need for about 3900 Lore (assuming you get all HQ), and right around 120k GC seals, and 108 new gathering items for a full set including weapon. Along with a some minor items (griffin hides, shroud tea leaves, feberites, cobalt ores, raw diamonds etc. etc.) Then of course the demicrystals for the weapon which could be a gigantic pain in the ass.

If I'm right tho, do I get a cookie? Day 1 i250 just seems unreal to me. I will check back on this thread after patch to see who's right. :P

If i'm right; i think you're right!! AND I'M HOPING ON IT!!! B/C I HAVE NEVER EVER kept the first spoils of my craft when a new patch comes out!! BC that's when everyone (like u just said) wants to GEAR THEMSELVES UP FIRST! And my aim is to help "you" do it....FOR A SHINY PENNY!!

Also though, if desyn stays like its always been..... desyn a 245 ilv at 220 syn will be at 25% success rate (without food or tinker)......NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WILL BREAK A 245 WEAPON AT THAT RATE unless they got all of them a one they don't care for.....

NAWWW BRUUHH; adding SB as a requirement would be way too cumbersome; mind you this is the lowest lvl gear the new patch offers; meaning (starter kit) for the latter upgrade in the content; all that trouble to just get 250 to then try your primal luck at 255..... not worth it IFF u have to SB as well.....not only would that take forever it would be harder since the higher the weapon the less mobs/dungs/raids that would actually add toward its spiritbinding.

Last point which is really my strongest point... go bk and read the descriptions for all the old demimateria.....all fo them say this : " A crystallized mass of residual spiritbond energies transferred to an article of weaponry or armor by ..." no SB was required then...why now??

That's fair. I haven't read the previous demimateria descriptions in ages so I guess I forgot that they all said similar things.

The real question is where all the new mats will be gathered. As pointed out in the interview they stressed that gathering is important. Now where will those nodes spawn? My current guess is that diadem's revamp might be tied to the new gathering. So I expect we might have to get some frequent flyer cards. On top of that for those that are worried about some of the older mats like Scheelite, don't forget about the ixal vendors. I know I have stacked up a fair amount of oaknots. :D First of course, put together your list of what you can craft and then bum rush the marketboard. I am pretty stoked, I am going to try and put 1 up of everything (All Specs w/ full melds). (only thing slowing me down I believe will be the demicrystals, hopefully all my rav/bisEx tokens will come in handy) Once I get the ball rolling I will post up the locations of items I find. Happy hunting crafters/gatherers.

diadem seriously flopped in its introduction; but unlike other flopped systems (i.e. favor mats ) this flop we're stuck with it!! They allocated too many resources to the shear size of the area and the countless servers prioritized for diadem that has been going UNUSED but by the few bots/dedicated gatherers that use FC airships.

I agree with you that they will attempt to liven up the zone by adding a few new slots to the already existing nodes to go along with how you can now (tuesday) enter diadem as DOL! If you check the list of stones/metals/vegetation mats in patch notes it's not unlike a few of them could be found in diadem and it still be fair and encourage more ppl to play it!

My most sincere guess is given desyn has taken a noticeable role since patch 3.05; and SE is adding new 235 gear that can be farmed in Diadem; you'd have to wonder why??? Why would you be raising the lvl cap from 240 to starter-kit (crafted gear) to 250 THEN also add ANOTHER 235 raid???? My guess is DESYN!!! While of course u can always turn gear in for tokens to buy other mats i think these pieces of gear can be broken down directly for useful mats otherwise it looks like this is a lazy-man's Weeping City.......MARK MY WORDS---desynn!! Will be OP.

I shet, my desynthesis lvls are about 168 for GSM/BSM/LTW. Great, looks like I will be blowing 10-20 mil on catching up. Maybe just gonna focus on BSM for now. I haven't desynthesized anything in like 8mo. Valid point OP about the wording of past demimateria introductions. Can't sleep!!! Feels like the 1st day of school when I was a kid. XD

Even more reasons why to believe DEsyn will be playing a huge role in this patch!!!!

I'm just not seeing BSM being the cash cow people want it to be this patch. Yep, they get a lot of 250 weapons. Yep, you're going to need 5 of those Demicrystals to craft each one. Yep, these weapons will sell to glamour hounds if they look good, and people who can't handle a new Ex Trial that's supposed to be easier than Nidhogg Ex. I'd realistically expect the market to bottom out much faster for weapons that any other crafted item this patch because of Sophia. It's possible that the spread of secondaries, and 'some weapons' not receiving a WD increase for that 5 ilvl difference might make a couple crafted weapons more desirable but......it sounds like the effort to profit margin just isn't big enough, unless enough people drop BSM spec to make the rarity drive price up.
And IFF Demicrystals come from desynth, it depends on what ilvl they start at. Most people have ignored desynth completely in 3.0 since we've only been leveling it to get the same exclusive items from i220 gear that we got from desynthing i70 gear. Anyone not already above that level to get Demicrystal will probably not find it worth their interest to level for it now.

this bleak outlook you pronounce is EXACTLY WHY THE RICH WILL GIT RICHER!! Those in position to make money from BSM will corner the market while those on the fridges will give up due to competitive advantage in spending time else where. Take for example how ppl make money off of pots b4 x3 per syn??? Those dedicated to that craft had NOO COMPETITION, IT WAS JUST TOO DAMN HARD TO FARM MATS AND ALL THAT WORK FOR 1 SYNTH?? GTFO; but....the dedicated sold it exclusively (on my server for 34k+ per; and its still around there even though syn yields tripled).

Another example; on my server although it wasn't at all popular anymore; ilv220 eikon gear still sold regularly.....220? after 240 was basically free for everyone willing to grind hunts forever.... So the difficulty curve for the causal player defeating the primal; the case where a few 255 weapons will have horrible stats; and that not just ANY BSM will be ready to pump them out on the MB; makes its most ideal for the top tier BSM

A matter of opinion I guess, to me that bleak outlook is just one logical conclusion. I foresee BSM products being the slowest moving items on the MB this patch. When I saw the specialist recipes for CUL in 3.3, I dropped that spec as fast as I could, happy to leave those profits for others. CRP does look like it will be god tier this time around, and ALC is mandatory for all the other combat gear producers, and although I'm tempted to go back to CUL, it will really depend on the difficulty of Creator Savage. Will the stat caps on the food even be attainable with less than BiS gear? SE has screwed us on that one before, lol. And will the difficulty of the content have the kinds of checks that even require supra-pots and top tier food (doubt it), or will these products primarily be for parse runs.

Not trying to intentionally be a Debbie Downer, just keeping it real and give people some extra things to thing about before changing specs to BSM. 'Course, it's only ever 1 week of red scrips away :)

I completely agree with your latter analyze; esp the past CUL patch..... i kep cul HOPING AGAIN HOPE CUL WILL COME THRU.....and it didnt....now those 2 recipes off SPC...rip; the stats on new food will dictate if I swap it out or not myself; I have 2 crafter souls waiting for the switch(s).

I just hope these Demicrystals can come from any of the newly-desynthesizable weapons / tools.

IF we can get them from crafting / gathering off-hand tools then it should be easy to get them.
I have BSM at 186, GSM at 216, and LTW at 220. But sitting on a good supply of crafting tokens and capped centurio seals waiting for continue my desynth as soon as we get in.

I will also be trying PvP weapons, although I don't have many PvP tokens right now, so it will have to wait a while.

If primal weapons are necessary it will be a tough hurdle because of higher IL and difficulty to get them.
If Normal sophia drops weapons or weapon mats, it will be easier though.
I wonder if Bismark weapons will also give them?

Unfortunately I have none of these weapons in stock. I just have Anima Weapons...which can't be desynthed (and wouldn't do it anyway)

I hope that the BiS EX or RaV EX can get the crystals. Still if it's just the upper tier items it's going to be a pain. We will see!

It almost sounds as if they will randomly drop from battles fought with a spiritbound weapon and not be a desynth product at all. That could actually be kind of neat...depending on drop rate and if it drops from all weapons or only high-level ones. Could be an interesting way for low-level players to make some money too. What do you guys think?

I need 2,115,000 GC seals by the end of the day. A bit tight, yup. And that's just for 3 teams. I can't even imagine the nightmare on larger hardcore FC.

Yeah, I'm glad I switched back to BSM. That's doing well for me, along with WVR. Kinda wish I replaced ARM with CRP though. Not too many doing that. Side note..the Gilgamesh market is so different from back on Sargatanas. Man...
