The 3 stages of Alisaie in 3.4

So it has been revealed Alisaie's personality will be affected by what stage of Coil the player is in.

We have..

Stage 1 (did not complete Coil or only complete 1st Coil)
- The No character development and "you're not so great stage" Personality.

Stage 2 (complete 2nd Coil)
- the "oh it is you" stage and character still not developed Personality.

Stage 3 (Complete Coil Storyline)
- The "Hi friend" and Developed character personality.

You think her personality will persist into future FF14 storyline until players complete Coil Story or will there be a story character development that set her into stage 3 for players who did not complete Coil Storyline.

They did the same with Estinien. I was eager to complete Coil to witness this for myself but I am surprised that so many other people are taking it as seriously. In Estinien's case, it was a single line of difference and then he regarded you no differently to a non-DRG player for the rest of the storyline; I expect no less from here.

Nonetheless, it's something I want to experience on one of my characters first-hand.

It's more a case of introductions I think. If players haven't done Coil then they have never actually met Alisae properly. The most they've done is observe her and Alphinaud have an argument way back around level 20.

The difference in dialogue here is likely just to cover introductions where necessary, with her treating you differently upon meeting based on how well she knows you.

Only difference will be the introduction when meeting Alisaie and during the MSQ when she refers to something that happend in Coil, If the topic is about heroes, primals, her grandfather etc, she will have certain lines depending on your progression in Coil, atleast this is what I think.

I think it was said to be a single sentence change. I still did the Final Coil to unlock it, but you probably won't miss out on some huge piece of lore, or WoL/Alisae shipping story.

guess it is the feeling that the WoL's actions was not forgotten and had actual effect on the world.

Coil is a very big deal when you consider the scale of danger it had if the WoL was not there to defeat that great threat and even the story hinted that Alisaie alone will never defeat that threat without the help of the WoL due to her current character state. If Coil was never finished then the world is bound to end because the WoL was not there to defeat this great threat more dangerous than the Main Scenario Final boss. Yet having the world act like it never happened just brings a bitter taste and disappointment considering the effort put into that seriously important storyline.

I don't know... Yoshi-p did say in a interview that he would like it that people do coil before 3.4 because of the changes. The fact that he telling people to do it means it could be more than that. He even said unsync it if you have to just go do coil for extra dialogue. Also they said if you complete coil after doing the 3.4 story you won't be able to see the dialogue in the Inn or House using The Unending Journey.

Never set foot in the Coil and have no desire whatsoever to do so. Hopefully this amounts to nothing more than a tiny dialogue change which has no bearing on anything.

Isn't that what it's like in most RPG games? I think the only time I ever played a game where the world noticed what you did was FFX-2 when Yuna was a cleb.

But thinking about it now most stuff we do we don't publicly advertise or send a twit about it and most the world don't know about it because they have no option to.

We go underground and do some shit no one can see or heard of.

but it was like that in the olden days. Where now if something happens we hear of it instantly but back then it would take weeks or months before like the whole world or country would know.

Coil basically reveals what happened after the ARR intro cutscene. How was Bahamut defeated? What happened to Louisoix? How did anyone survive who wasn't explicitly saved by Louisoix in the cutscene? What's the deal with all those chunks of Dalamud that got scattered around Eorzea? All we know to start with was that Bahamut ushered in the Sixth Umbral era, a calamity that SHOULD have all but wiped out almost all intelligent life on Eorzea... but five years later, everything's relatively okay. Coil helps fill in those gaps.

If storyline isn't enough reason to justify running through Coil, that's your choice to make. Running it unsynched does make it pretty trivial, though - particularly if you're able to wrangle a group of eight to do it with (smaller groups of four or five may struggle with mechanics on Turn 9 and a few other places that still remain instant-death).

Coil has interesting fights and the best story that this game has to offer. I recommend going through it, at least unsynced, otherwise you are greatly missing out.

It's a tough choice.

Unlocking the special dialogue vs avoiding being reminded that the speacial dialogue is not deserved with the faceroll state of the content... -_-"

I think I've ruined the story for myself by now with YouTube :P The thought of trying to reach out to that many strangers to run the content makes me ache, too. DF is one thing but PF represents a step I'm not willing to make.

You'd be surprised how many people are interested in such a thing, especially with a free 1200 Poetics on the line.

You've clearly made your decision, but count me in as part of the many voices saying that should you ever go back on it, you won't regret it. :)

Don't know how the situation is over on Cerberus, but farm and clear parties pop up regularly on Zodiark. Just put up "T5, 9, 13 clear for 3.4" in the description and people should come crashing in. Set party to single tank, single heal and 6 DPS, only T11 really requires two tanks due to mechanics, the rest can be cheesed through by damage.

We did T11 with only one tank (unsynced) - just need to either time your damage reduction right or have enough health to survive it.
