We Need Glamour GearSets

This is a suggestion to the SE team regarding Glamouring. I feel there should be some sort of glamour gearset if you will. A method for glamour multiple looks to one item. For example as it stands if you have all your classes leveled up and then you want to Glamour you PLD to look a certain way, your only two options are to have all three of your tanks look the same or drop down in gear for your other tanks sacrificing Stats/ilvll. I know I am not the only one who wants individual glamours for each class I level. Each class has its own distinct feel and personality so it is only natural to want to express that in a unique glamour without sacrificing stats/ilvl. Someone else pointed out another possible solution to this problem would be not making gear cross classed. For example WAR has its own gear and PLD has its own and so on.

OMG I so want this, like I would love to have my eso sch gear glamed to my lore gear but the pure weirdness of the lore gear look(since my whm and ast cant wear my sch eso gear, it'll show the real look of the gear I'm wearing.) really hurts my whm and AST in beauty points, come on SE support the real end game, GLAMOUR!

SE is too busy making 3 female only glamours and making them similar to the others. That or adding them to the mogstation for sale. Implementing a new feature like this would be really nice but they don't even fix the report system since the game came out and it won't make them money so idk. At least we didn't have to wait as long as WoW for glamours.

+2 this QoL improvement

People have been begging for the implementation of a "glamour log" like in GW2 for ages. Right now our faint hopes are directed at 4.0.

While I believe most people want this or a glamour log (both would be best), it seems SE is reluctant to do this.

I'll go ahead and assume 2 reasons:
1. Less need for storage (= less money from people getting retainers)
2. Server issues

I've been barking up this tree for a while; I play both AST and WHM and I often glamour an outfit to match a (new) weapon and sometimes what looks good on one just doesn't look right on the other. If glamour could be assigned to an entire job/class rather than the gear, this might be some sort of solution.

Asking for more gear not to be designed for cross-class (which I'm willing to bet only future job AFs will have, now that PvP gear shares roles now too) will be reasonably met with stiff opposition about inventory/armory bloat.

Absolutely yes. And glamour book where store glamour sets instead of armoury chest..

Not just inventory/armory bloat, but also less gameplay options. Cross options allow you to gear all your healing jobs at the same time, so you only need a unique weapon for each to play them at the same level. If you segregate it, you suddenly have a steep performance loss when switching to another healing job and you need to gather an entire set again.

Even if that is true, SE needs to get it into gear then. Practically every MMO has some sort of glamour set feature. In fact, we already have one with our retainers. Just utilize the same idea; separate character menu can be brought up and any gear worn there overrides the look of your otherwise equipped gear.

Just want to say this real quick, FFXI (you know that other mmo SE runs) has gear sets in it and all you have to do is hit the lockstyle option in the menu and bam whole glamour done. Could bring thatlockstyle function over to 14 since we have gear sets already.

I am by no means against it btw, I would LOVE that option and SE needs to get this game up to par with other games.

Yes please can we have this D; I know it seems silly.. but my White mage and AST isn't as geared as my Scholar simply because they would have all the same glamour... and its not like you can run around with three sets of identical gear in your bags cause you know.. we can't expand armory bag space. >.>

All these are good options I just hope they acknowledge the obvious oversight. For me Glamour is my end game content lol. I was discussing this on facebook and someone said that SE said they were not going to do Glamour gearsets because they would have to completely overhaul the gear system...

Players have been asking for this for a long time. Anything that they implement in regards to it would be an improvement. The way the system works now is just plain boring. There are so many games that have awesome systems for glamor so I don't buy the reasons listed above as being valid. If SE wants to do it they sure can come up with something. Something as simple as a wardrobe slot just like we have armor storage they can do the same it does not have to be anything crazy but I have so many different looks I have gone through with my guys and I like them all but I can only have one that display at all times, that is ridiculous.

Exactly! Maybe they are working on it quietly and plan on releasing it in the next expansion.

We need this!. I'm pretty much forced to either make glam that every Tank would look good in or focus on playing one Tank.

That's where I am at right now. Ive yet to find a Glam that looks good on all three of my tanks.

As much as I'd LOVE to have gear sets of glamour (Infact I hate to share the same look on all 3 tanks), I think we firstly need to fix the glamour itself.

Don't take me wrong: gearsets are a good thing if they ever implement it, but SE should focus on fixing the current glamouring system before implementing anything else. Yeah yeah i know it's their gimmick to make us buy more retainers but if they fix it (I HIGHLY doubt they would, but I wish I'm wrong), then gearsets could become a thing in the future and even more. Maybe even improved dyeing with more parts to color (Like in Wildstar).

Heck, even WoW (worst game in the world yadda yadda) has finally a better transmog feature with an actual log that saves your appearances loot (And I won't lie, I never had so much fun making out sets and running old content for unlocking more!)

PS: I know, it's the usual "Limited data" stuff that we've heard for centuries now.

What do you feel is wrong with the glamour system now? I do like your idea of being able to dye more gear and picking specific parts of gear to dye. I could live with that for now lol.

Retainer data is saved differently and in a different place than character data.

When you call up a retainer you are calling up an individual retainer linked to your character but not stored with them. The character data of a character with 0 retainers and 12 retainers is the same. Each time a new retainer is created a new section in the retainer database is partitioned and then linked to the creating character.

What you are asking for is an addition of 12 new limited use inventory slots to every character.

Foolish excuse on their part. It's not a problem in any other MMO.

I do NOT want tank gear split into 3 gear sets. It's hard enough trying to keep multiple jobs geared up, I don;t need 2 additional sets to collect.

That's... not what this is about.

Go take a look at WildStar or Rift's costume systems. The ability to save multiple outfits and freely switch between them is a glorious thing. Actually, there are a lot of glorious things about those two games' costume systems...

I don't mind sharing gear sets during the leveling stages. In fact, it is VERY convenient and practically encourages you to level multiple classes at once. Post 50 though, it's all about those end game glamours! I don't want my SCH and WHM to have the exact same look, and they currently don't. They are not only different classes, they are different healers. I had to acquire two sets of gear to give them each their own look, but that's how badly I wanted them to look different. It's the rainbow set, so easily crafted, but I'm not sure if this will remain so down the road. I dread thinking about using the same method with my DoH as they are all well on their way to 50.

SE has to come up with something. Many players look at glams as the true endgame for them. I don't think they have to break their backs to come up with something innovative to improve the current system.

They definitely need to do this. With so many glamours in this game this is a MUST.
