While I love the winner design, is it possible to make the OnionHolic (Or any runner up) implemented at game as well? lol

I would have preferred anything other than a recoloured clone of the single most overused tank armour in the game. (Looking at you high allagan coat of fending!)
Many brilliant designs they could use, but they go with a boring clone. Reeeeeeeeeeally original.
Though i should thank my lucky stars that it was not the terribad goobue armour.
Best outfit won.
They know it'll be lapped up by the countless 'glamour enthusiasts' who love that particular...vibe. :p
At least the 'Templar' style armour was a runner up - I like that a lot and by the sounds of what is written on the page they intend to implement that as well. I think they'll do the same for some of the other runner ups.
I hope so. I REALLY want this one.

I liked this one the best http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/GearD...h9ot1p/006.jpg
I figured that the ALS would have been the runaway winner, but I'm perfectly OK with that. I'm glad that my personal fave, the plant armor one, got mentioned as a runner up. Grats to all the winners!
Lol, a boring one chosen.
I hope for the healer/dps competitions, no one submits a recolor of a current set like this one, else its not even a contest is it.
This gear is cool and good.
RIP the dream. FeelsBadMan

It wasn't exactly hard for the Allagan set to win when the rest of the competition was filled with mainly joke submissions, or just DPS and Caster gear with some metal boots. While I found it funny I couldn't understand how *Fantasy Revolver Ocelot* got into the finalists and while I think Gungnira's submission was very well drawn it felt like it belonged in one of PSO2's fan design contests more than FFXIV. Decent selection of runner-ups overall though. I just hope the next time they do one of these gear design contests there's a more fitting selection of finalists to fit whatever class or role the contest is for.
The winners set is lovely but I'd love OnionHolic's set as well >.>
Not bad but i would have picked the last one made by Beruru Beru
Super disappointed that the winner looks so similar to things we already have
Are you trying to tell me that this is a joke entry/DPS gear?

^LOL that's the best one.
Hm boring imo I hope they will add some of the more fun looking sets in the gold saucer at some point.
Loved the frills set, goobbue outfit and the one which looked like he was a child dressing up.
I absolutely loved the winning set and all the runners up. Unfortunately for some we were talking about TANK gear of course the plate metal look would look like so much of what we have, tanks arent supposed to run around in bikinis getting beat by 10 x enemies
I just want to say that they should put every single one of these in the game and just make the grand prize winner a custom chocobo. The winners outfit looks like it only would fit a SMN! JUST LOOK AT THAT UNICORN!!! I think they should of choose all of them or at least one armor for each class.
It was the best design. It fitted Lore wise. Looked something that the original FFXIV design team could pull out. It looks tanky (Proper Heavy Plate Armor) and it's something that can actually be implemented without problems. It was the best design and I'm happy it won. Although I liked some others as well. Would love to see the OnionHolic in game too. It's something that fits in game very well too.
Well...not my taste.
But luckily they released the legacy warrior armor recently, so I don't even have to play tank if I want the armor-y feel :3
A bit tinfoil-y of me, but I feel like they chose it because it'll be the easiest one to implement in the game. They already have most of the art asset created...the HA Coat of Fending. >__>
I liked the one that was supposed to be the Zodiac weapon version of armor the best. OnionHolic's super nummy fur-and-leather design was nice, too.
I dislike the Winner mainly because it's so simple and plain that it just looks like any other unadorned leveling set for around the late level 30's for tanking. It's unoriginal, about as plain as plain can be, and has no features that make it stand out. From a design standard, i'm disappointed in it and it feels like SE wanted to take the easy way out with something that has about as much color as Uncle Ben's Bleached Rice. I was hoping for something with at least some color to it other than WHITE.
Imo, the winner design is a bit boring since it looks like gear we already have. It's not bad, but there was more creative options in runners-up.
I love the winner :D. A lot of the entries looked more like a mage outfit and not something for a tank so I am kinda thankful that this one won.
Hopefully they will implement that Gobbue one as a glamour outfit for everyone. :)
The gear looks like an Allagan/Ironworks set. Like the stuff we already have within the game.
Little disappointed as such. (YOU NEVER SEE ANYONE WALK AROUND WEARING THOSE AS GLAMOURS!!)
Was happy with the design winner fits the game perfectly.
Gratz to the designer but I would have liked something, god forbid, different.
I mean if you were the judge would you really pick something that's already so similar to your designs?
I would have preferred the first runner up, it looks like it was designed on Belladonna, fitting with the lore.
a lot of entry was over the top or barely fitting either the role of tank or the lore.
it was a contest for make a generic tank armor, not a class specific armor, it's why the zodiac armor didn't win, too much paladin or the one where with a lot of muscle showing too much warrior.
We could have gotten an ORIGINAL DESIGN, but no, what about we get an armor with the almost the same design as another existent armor in the game? yeah that sounds good...I swear to god in every glamour contest the ugliest is always the winner. This was the change to get something cool and pretty but no, we get another generic in game armor, good job.

Out of the runner ups I would have wanted this one to be put in game. It's original, detailed, tanky, and unlike anything we've ever seen in Eorzea. I would have hoped that we get more variety compared to what is already available.
Also, I personally like my character to look feminine/decorated and with this winner there will still be zero outfits that give me that desired look without being "non-tanky". All level 1 glamour gear is made of cloth or leather, making them a perfect fit for any other role except tanking. Only as a tank do I have to pick between elaborate and role-fitting. however, the floral druid tank gear (among a few other entries) proves you don't have to sacrifice function for style or vice versa. This competition was the perfect opportunity to bring out something bulky but beautiful so I'm left a little disappointed.
This exactly.
Most boring entry won it seems.
Yawn.
I'm not really surprised though. More of the same has pretty much been their answer to everything. Oh well if I want good armor designs I can just look at Monster Hunter and be happy.
Out of all the Tank armor designs thus far in 3.0 the only one worth my interest has been the Berserker set.
I'm glad the winner is Japanese, so they likely won't visit these forums and read these comments.
Seriously, how insensitive are some of you? How would you feel if you were the winner and the only thread people make is one shitting on your design?
Also remember that this was simply a tank armor design contest. Not a "create the most unique glamour" contest.
