I just finished the ARR beast tribe quests yesterday, and today went back to purchase all of the minions. I decided to make sure I had all the HW ones as well (which I finished a while ago) and noticed that the Moogles only have one minion you can purchase. All 7 of the other beast tribes offer two! Why were we shortchanged on the Moogles, and is this going to be corrected at any time?

Maybe because there are already several moogle minions from previous content, and the designers either couldn't think of another, or didn't want to flood us with yet another slight variation on the same thing?
Though that theory is hard to credit considering the number of mounts we have based on the same old unicorn model... -

Probably because we already have the set of Primogs as well as the Delivery Moogle. I'll never say no to more minions though.

But yeah, there are alreay several moggle minions in the game - thinking of how they only come as promo-codes it would have been cool to get one from the beast tribe... same goes for a moggle outfit, kinda - pretty sure we didnt got one because it was a reward from last years(?) fanfast stream (...that you had to pay for)

Moogles gave us a dragonet (which, honestly, I was hoping for as I was doing the quests. I didn't look what the rewards were prior), it didn't have to be a moogle of some kind. A mini of the mount, or a smaller version of the drake we used for quests, or even one of the dragons we spoke with. Not that I would say no to a moogle minion, since from what I know, the only ones in game are bonus code rewards only (meaning you spent RL money on them).Quote:

Lore-wise, the other beasttribes' minions were one of the "good" faction, and one of the antagonist faction. Moogles didn't really have that; they were working more to prove themselves rather than fight against their oppressive, primal-influenced kin.
Won't disagree that a second red or white colored dragonette minion would have been nice... -

Maybe they only get one because not everyone craft. We already get a dragon minion, and a dragon mount, through the MSQ, so yeah.

The Moogles are an oddity because unlike the other two tribes in Heavensward, they were not created for the expansion, they existed as far back as 1.0, and minions of them (Vanilla from the CE and the 2 Merchandise ones) also existed at this point. They are also unique as there is no conflict with other moogles, as in there is no tribal infighting. As such there is no need for a 2nd set of Moogles and thus no need for a 2nd minion.
The Dragons on the other hand already have 3, but the other common thread for the BT minions is that they are clockwork replicas, mammots. Which Midgardsomnr is not, and Banamut is no longer available.
My guess is that we will return to the 2 minion per beast tribe formula unless the new tribes inclue the Qiqirn (one crafted minion, so a similar case to the Moogles), or the Goblins (which have 2 minions already, including a crafted one. so, no minions?) Mamool Ja are the only existing Beastmen/non-spoken not to have minions. -

A collectors edition, a soundtrack, etc. So that's reason enough to include a moogle of some kind. Even if they make it "worse" than the purchase bonus codes, that's fine. But to have no way of getting a moogle minion in game without spending money OUT of game, that's annoying! Especially when there's an obvious gap.Quote:
