Can the KO animation get an update?

It seems hokey as heck that the same passing out animation is used on every race and in cut scenes when specific characters die. Why can't we have character fall face first or something else? Even NPCs that die in cut scenes should get some different flavor of death animation instead of recycling just the only one that is used by the players.

Like a long 1 min bloodcurtling scream, anime blood splash out the entire front of the body, stagger and try to stand on one knee, then land on both, then look like bowing on knees and an "urgh!" as we fall to the floor?

At the very least make it so that the death/ incapacitated pose is different for each races. Kinda like these:

Though I think some of them are used as the new doze poses now

It's hilarious when the whole raid wipes and I see everyone die at the same time, all in the same pose.

Feels like we're professional synchronized swimmers.

Well raids ARE synchronized jump rope/swimming after all! You can't break from the team!

Well.. let's see here. All races and genders share the same battle animations, share the same battle poses, share the same weapon stances and attack animations. And here we asking for different KO/death animation. Heck that one game that was released over 14 years ago and shares the same name just different order of number had the audacity to give each race and gender different poses and battle animations. Even different KO/death animation.

Well anyways, they're not suppose to copy from that game... ignore this.

Same battle stance and attack animations make some sense since you would expect similar training.

Eeeerrr.. No! Not all baseball players who took the same batting training don't hold the bat or stand the same way.

Baseball =/= video game with fantastical combat.

I will admit when I first started playing this game I was shocked and somewhat disappointed that each race didn't have their own battle stances and attack animations...something as someone pointed out, FFXI had 14 years ago. I liked how my Elvaan held his Katana and shot his bow sideways...explains why he had such poor acc.

I think male roe hold the warrior axe differently than anyone else but that's about it for any race differences in battle that we have :V I'd like a new death animation with a backflip before death.

Male Roe also holds the Lancer Spear differently. Also Lalafell Arcanists hold their books differently. I think that's all though.

The only animation I have an issue with it Lalafell NINs when they have their weapons out while running...

I requested this once. I called it The Quality of Death. I think we should just have a bunch of random death poses, so it doesn't look ridiculous when everyone dies in the same pose. I mean, we're not suppose to die, but it happens. At least we can die in style.

I've wanted variations on this and the damage animations. given the size and force of some of the attacks, barely flinching seems a bit off, even if it is for low damage.

As far as death animations, synchonized dying looks silly. In a perfect scenario there should be different ones based on how hard the last hit was, but even just changes in how we fall or collapse would be a welcome sight.

nah, the flinch is there for imps and you are right, it does change, the full animation only takes place for attacks that take about a third of hp or more(you would see a boss imp would nudge only a little from your attacks, but a low level imp would be reeling from the 1-2 hits it would take before going down. likewise with player characters) course this is why for large enemies or bosses with their loads of hp all you will ever see is something akin to fidgeting as we attack, even for our largest attacks(Nidhogg is a good example of this). That same thing occurs to us when we take minor damage, regards of if its a bee sting, a beastman spear or a magitek cannon blast to the face. I'm not a fan of it.

Rather than every race getting their own KO animation why not just add a couple of new ones for all races to use at random? All we need is some added variety and this would be easier than making unique ones for each race.

Ragdoll effects and explosion physics. Nuff said.

Reminds me of rag doll Lara Croft and swan-diving off the highest point possible.
