This scene was too epic! *SPOILERS*

I don't know how much of a spoiler this is but I felt I should put up a warning not to ruin the story for anyone yet!


But I just finished watching the scene with the Barracuda ships fighting against the Sahagin ships when I think Leviathen came up out of knowhere and wiped them both out! Crazy :) I think the graphics in that scene were crazy compared to the smaller cutscene graphics, they were really really good. I didn't blink watching that whole scenerio lol, anyway..

Why I am writing this is if FFXIV keeps scenes and storyline quests down that route, graphics wise, story wise, gameplay wise I think they will entice a lot of people to stay and play, and they will hopefully have a great game that will last for years to come!

Its a good thing you don't blink cause atm you can never see it again unless you youtube it with someone else taking the helm and suffering from lesser quality than the real thing. :P

Limsa Lominsa definitely had the best early mission cutscenes. >_> That was awesome.

That said, and I haven't gotten there yet myself due to charming mob placement w.r.t. the rank 34 mission (and not quite being high enough level), I've heard the last main story mission is pretty much a 'bring my brown pants' cutscene. :D

Let me remind you that "Fun" is not allowed in FFXIV.

This. I've just finished the L46 quest and I was left speechless. Too epic. It was kind of bittersweet, since I finished it knowing it was the last one.

Yes the last mission was a jaw dropper for me, i instatly began typing angry letters to SE and demanded more but I couldn't bring myself to smash submit so I just write > delete > write > stare > delete > cry. ; ;

What mission/quest is the OP referring to here, exactly?

the opening cutscene, if you choose limsa lominsa as starter city

@Inaaca - I don't know if your asking what cutscene I am referring to but it's not the "opening scene with leviathen" its later in the game when you enter the Barracudas fleets and Sahagin ships fire bombs at you while the barracudas are throwing bombs and firebombs at the sahagin and leviathen shoots out of knowhere and sends a huge wave to destroy the ships - though I don't know if they were completely destroyed yet :\

Ah, okay. That's what I thought of, but I don't remember the part about fighting other ships. o_o;

Edit: Oh okay, gotcha. Must be a Limsa only scene.

I /think/ it's the Limsa Lominsa mission directly before Fade to White. I don't regret rolling in Limsa on this character even a little bit. :3 (LL -also- has Y'shtola being a ridiculous badass and bullet-catching and basically not even trying to hide that she's not playing by the same rules, which I loved. >_>)

@Teakwood YES! I just finished that scene when she pretty much melted the bullet! lol the story keeps getting better and better ^^

I rolled Gridania, myself, but from what I've seen I gotta say that Y'shtola is probably my favorite of the main "guide" NPCs so far, both in personality and general badassery.

That being said, I don't regret starting in Gridania, but I wouldn't mind seeing more crossover of the nation NPCs. :`

Nope, no where in any section of the game is that creature defines as Leviathan, it does not even look like Leviathan from the in-game files and concept art. Also not to mention all Summons are defined specifically as a group in the data files and this creature is not part of that definition. The creature is stated as "Sea Serpent" by both In-Game NPC's as well as by the developers. learnthelore?

It's Leviathan. Its data files are right next to Ifrit and Titan. If that doesn't tell you its classification, I don't know what will. Try checking the 2.0 data files. The Leviathan concept art in there is similar to the "Sea Serpent".

I made myself a new char (Limsa) just for that Cutscene but I just don't know what Rank is it for :/

The new sidequests where you actually get to see all 3 of the GC leaders and why they started up their GCs are quite awesome. If you haven't done them you should!!!!

And I'm not talking about the ones to join the GCs or that long quest chain...to hear the speeches. It's the other side stories.

Ifrit m852, Leviathan m853, Titan m854, The big fish is m801, not even in the same range.

the Sea Serpent looks absolute NOTHING like Leviathan................... if you think it does you need to seriously get your eyes checked out, honestly...

@Viion - Sorry viion, when I said Levaithen previously I didn't mean it as fact, the sea serpeant merely looked like leviathen to me so that's what I called it, I didn't mean it WAS leviathen, I should of said sea serpeant cause that IS what they called it in the game ^^.

@Agoven - Wow, now I am excited for that scene lol!

Well they mentioned the Swallowtail Roam sea serpeant as "a" leviathan, and not Leviathan per se. Devil's in the details and all that.

Either way, while that scene's one of my favorites, I'm actually loving a lot of the storyline tied to the Grand Companies that will eventually lead to the incoming war with Garlemaid, the fall of Dalamud, and the beginning of the 7th Umbral Era.

I havent gotten to far into the Grand Company storyline yet but Im glad to know its going good! :D

Yea I know what you mean. I think they updated it with what they can do with a better engine and more powerful platforms from players.
In Final Fantasy VIII they couldn't do as much details as they do now. But I entirely understand that you don't like the dragon like wings =)
I like them ^^

I like the Limsa cutscene better than the level 46 one. The Level 46 one is way too over-the-top.

The acrobatics ruins it. For example, out of nowhere, suddenly everyone can jump around like Dragon Ball Z. It made no sense at all.

Besides that it was good though I guess.
