FATE FATE 14, please add some interesting activities into the seasonal event!

Really disappointed about almost every seasonal event encourage players to complete the FATE and get the rewards... Really boring... Is there any good ideas to add in the seasonal event? I think there are lots of ways to make the seasonal event be funny and interesting, but now, my friends and me is really tired about see FATE again in the next moon faire and we are hardworing to gather the medals in Youkai Watch activity every night. We start to play FF14 since 2.0, and only very few activities are not related to the FATE... Almost crazy about FATE FATE 14. But I love this game OTL.

I am getting tired of people posting new threads to complain about the same thing other 50 threads have already complained about, but i have to deal with it.

Really tired of people that comments to say something useless that won't make the debate continue.

Divide the opinions, suggestions etc. into x threads and the only outcome will be that we won't get any attention from devs.
And I am pretty sure SagaSoluna wouldn't post something like this if there wasn't second thread with the same opinion on the first page too. .)

Making the same thread 50 times does not make "the debate continue".
People just repeat the same that has already been said 50 times over and over ad aeternum for no reason at all.

If he had provided some new insight or a new idea, or a new way to express what he thinks i could understand your reaction.
He just made a complaint that could simply be a reply to any of the other bazilion threads about this subject.

So i am not "stopping the debate" because there is no debate to begin with.

Better idea. If you know the topic is just the same thing and don't want to worry about it then why post in it? Problem solved. End of discussion.

While they went a bit far with the yokai-fates I can see why they include fates into a lot of seasonal events: It gives you a feeling of doing this event with a lot of other people - and it is even logical that you're not doing this alone! (During event quests that you do on your own and that require you to do one specific thing I often feel a bit... weird when there are 40 other people standing around, doing the excat same thing.) It includes the event into the world - when properly done! I remember the first moonfair of 2.0 - it was a fate with bombs making their way to Costa del Sol and you had to stop them. It made a lot of sense that that would be a fate - rather than you going to one spot, spawning your three bombs (while 40 other people are also doing that at the same time...) and be done with it. Its a way that makes those events really have an effect on this world - rather than just having questlines. Granted the mini-games during eastern or the letters from the christmastrees did something similar, but for some kind of events - just like the moonfair now - fates actually fit in kinda well!

I would love to see more quests like the one with the talking frog. I want to see more scavenging hunt type of quests, you get few hints and the players need to go in the zones and find those items, no help on the mini-map, only the hints that you get from the npc and a appetite to hunt them down.

It's been an week since Yo-Kai event started, and zones are already quite empty. So I am pretty much doing this boring event FATE-grinding alone. :(

We will see with Go Go Posing Rangers ! (meh, where is my tread ? snif)

Honestly a Fate Grind event for worthless glamour rewards isn't all that interesting to me and if it's that dead already then I suspect others feel the same.

I think I have done all the quests in this game (aside from some EX), is it a new one or did they add it this in 3.3?

they do fates becaus is easy because fates already exist , they dont even created specific fates for yokai (like DQ or FFXIII ...) is the most lazy route ...

No, its still from the 2.X era - was a really, really cool riddlequest which proper riddles - getting the broom-quest after that was a bit "meh" because it was so easy compared to Winebaud!

I wasnt refering to the Yo-Kai event :) I was more refering to events that get fates actually for that event - they face the same problem that after a week they run a bit dry but since those events only last 2-3 weeks normally, its not that bad, I'd say...? Thinking about some easter-fates and moonfair... I'm actually a fan of seeing those events actually happen in the world (Spriggans appear? Ofc we need them running around! Bombs attack? They should do this even if I dont interact if a certain spot)

You are right. I m not that hate about fate. Just want to see some new things.

maybe square should have used new event fates instead of old ones but instead of doing these nerfed atma droprates maybe they should have done the book phase style fates which spawn every 3 hours or something, that way you would have to had done only 1 fate for every weapon (or 1 for first weapon and 13 for the last).

Considering the amount of events that were fate-based, it is no wonder many are tired of it all.
The person that does the events needs to be more creative :/

Just to point this out, for fairness sake: We had new things:


Eastern: Mini-games (okay, also fates but you could choose to do only the games after haven done everything once)
Anniversary-event: Nothing to do but the quest... but getting that pretty cool secret room!
Little-Ladies-day: we had maps last year (that you could earn by doing a "daily"), this year it was this voting for your favorite (+quest for that)
Christmas: I suppose it was two years ago when we had to collect letters from christmas-trees?
Halloween: While that does include some sort of fate its different because those fates get special mechanics etc.
Moonfair: I suppose it was last year (or the year before... oh dear, I'm getting old...) when we had minigames to do aswell!
Valentines day: Fortune tellers this year, exchanging chocolate the year before, several quests before that...

So, we actually got plenty of events that werent only a fate-grind - and yes, those were cooler than just doing fates for hours and hours, but I can well understand that sometimes fates are just easier to be put in, which is sad... still, gotta give the devs that they're trying to give us new sort of things - keep THAT good work up, guys! :)

Some people seem to forget that we're actually getting events with new ideas - and its sad that that seems to be forgotten as soon as we get some fates again because they couldnt come up with a new idea or didnt had enough time to develop something :( keep in mind, that we're getting two more events soon and we dont know what they're gonna be like!

The summer event you're thinking of was back in 2014, when it was treated as a festival of sorts. Last years was just fish and chips on the beach (or do a FATE).

crafting instead of FATE can be something the OP want (because no FATE involved during crafting). The mats can be farmed from enemies or from a bell.

I don't dislike the summer event FATEs, but they could be more like the summer events of 2011 and 2012 (killing enemies with emotes instead with the weapon).

Oooooh yeah, right! Sorry, I'm really getting all those events mixed up! I just wanted to point out: events are a LOT more than just fates - and people seem to forget that as soon as one or two fate-events happen...

... aren't the FATEs the exact same thing as last year?

Players have the right to want change to events because yes some have been "different" but a higher percentage of the events we have had, fates have been involved.
In a sense it's recycled content, which if one would want could just go play Destiny

Ultimately this forum is poorly moderated. The moderators should insure that threads like this are all merged into one. We'll get this one and probably a couple more about the same thing... especially after the event starts.

My guess, Because if the devs add instanced content to events then people will whine about not accessing it when the event expires. Plus the events are usually for level 15 players so the content has to match. The last thing about this is that the devs might consier special dungeons/trials for events to be a little too much/waste of resources.

Maps are a different story since they are not instanced.
