Ya but can we pay just the amount that the game cost? i think i remember saying they allow us to do that sometime fall.

Maybe, maybe not. This kind of payment for the moment feels more secure. The fact that we can pick up pre-paid cards for all sorts of other games to pay for XI and XIV is pretty convenient as well...At least, from my perspective.

ya they said later we allow to buy the amount of crysta we want so that should also is a + and they said they be other type of payments.

Which methods in particular? Did they say? I'd like for Square-Enix to make a limited set of pre-paid debit cards like they did with XI when it first came out. It'd be a nice collector's item. Though, it probably won't be used or released until the PS3 version hits the shelves...Hmm...

It's funny because I just found this out by accident because I wanted to take screenshots of my character from XI when I found out I had to merge my POL account with my SE account again. I was wading through the pages to see if there was an alternative payment type and lo and behold: PayPal emerged. :D

It be nice if they bring time cards they said none in particular just saying they adding other type of payments methods. It be nice if it's time card every game have them now at days even F2P games so i don't see why not.

Yeah, I used Green Dot a lot over the past couple of years since the banks are making me paranoid. The only downside was that they charged me a good fraction every month, BUT, they never charged me for overdrafting.

Well, people are ill at ease sometimes when sending money directly to a company. It's the fact that they have to re-enter the information from their cards manually that sometimes they forget who they gave their information to and when. Having PayPal there's convenient since loads of websites use it and since it's backed by those who established eBay it's pretty much guaranteed to be secure.

Hmmm weird! Maybe there's something you have to do to make it appear? Like log out from SE account and log in again?

I just logged in after seeing this thread, and I saw it.
Have to first select 500 crysta, though. Then the 2 options showed up.

Crysta isn't available in some countries, I meant a lot of countries, actually I meant it's only for JP, US and a few European country, not the rest of the world.

I paid for Crysta with Paypal oh say..... Back in October last year...

But I'm EU

I dunno what it was like for US so if this is new, then it's one hell of an improvement over Click and Buy (I've used them in the past and it was so frustrating I just gave up)

I'm in the U.S., and when I go to Register/Update Payment Method, it just gives me an option to adjust my ClickAndBuy settings.

Maybe I need to unlink my account on the ClickAndBuy side first? But they say that can take up to 7 days.

When I go through "List Options Continued Automatically," the only options it gives are ClickAndBuy and Crysta.

Hummm, i got a third option when selecting Ultimate Play option, i can just put my credit card info in there and sav for future times to pay for crysta, and i have the paypal and giftcard option!! But i do agree with other post, i rather just do a direct pay to SE, but these options are still better than previous.

I was so pumped up when I saw this screenshot!
I went to try it, and... well... not worked as intended.

I still had the ClickandBuy option, and if I can't pay with PayPal for Crysta, that means that I can't even play, because ClickandBuy doesn't accept Swiss credit cards. STOP HATING US SO MUCH!

I even tried to add some Crysta going in the menu with the button "About Crysta" and pressing the button "Add Crysta to my SQUARE ENIX Account", but once I've selected for example 1'000 Crysta, the next page got me a result with an error 11000 saying that I got in that page not correctly. Whah?

Please SquareEnix, I want to pay you for your work and my enjoyment. You can't allow this to happen, it's a d*ckmove to refuse money from clients!

I've been using this payment method on FFXI forever. ;) It's why I never actually bitched about ClickAndBuy. Did people somehow just not look hard enough for this?

The paypal part is to only by the Crista or whatever it's called right? That whole path still bugs me because you end up with some left over every month. I just wanna pay my re a curing monthly fee right into SE big golden pockets. But all in all I say it's a great start to have pay pal open to us for payments.

Given that they're thinking of discounted price you may not end up with left over -- That's only for FFXI where base price is 1295 Crysta a month (+ additional 100 for each character), that's when you end up with left over, XIV has different rates as well as payment periods.

aye there's the rub it's November guess what is coming very very soon Pay to Play which they said would be end nov/beginning dec. 'Tis not too far off. Alas these months have gone by so quickly!
