Has anyone tried from floor 30 onwards solo? Even with a group of 4 we only have like 15mins left at the boss and the enemies keep getting harder. How would you even survive to the boss?

I didn't make it past 20 alone as a Machinist, boss was three levels above me and final sting hurts.
I'm having a really hard time on BLM now that I reached floor 31. I haven't given up yet though, I think if I keep upgrading my aetherpool stuff through another run I'll get to the point where it's manageable.
Pretty sure healers already got to floor 40 but I heard they fail the "DPS check" on the adds.
I made it through the first 20 floors solo as a drk hit lvl and got something around 14 points in arm and armor, but been having trouble getting to the 30th floor.
that being said i dont think its impossible to solo, its just your gonna need to be lucky with the chests you get on each floor since you'll be needing to brush through a few floors rather quick while making sure you level up a good amount per floor.
another thing thats important in deciding whether a class can solo the place is healing, which most classes likely wont be capable of with just potions alone 22 sec between each potion use is tough to work with afterall.
Yes it's possible. Somebody manage to solo it.

cool , that AST for sure deserve my recognition ! :o would love see the video of the 41-50 tho :3
Floor 21+ on SMN wrecked me
edit; nvm I beat it with9 mins left & luck
I got to floor 27 on Summoner yesterday.
I died at the second boss twice, but got the hang of it the 3rd time.
I've died on floor 27 3 times now. The thing which gets me are the bird mobs which cast chirp.
No matter how far away you are, even in a different room, you will be put to sleep. It seems unavoidable.
After getting put to sleep, they kill my pet and then chase me. And they do a ton of damage.
Plus, running away from them comes with a lot of danger of traps and running into other mobs.
I might try again today.
I've heard of people that did, with varying degrees of success. No way I could do it with just a 60 minute time limit. I'm a "slow and steady wins the race" kinda tank. I'd be cutting it close even on floors 1-10.Quote:
Is it even possible to solo the deep dungeon?
Manticore orbs seem to have a high drop rate on 41 to 50 I imagine that helps a lot.
Today I got to floor 29 with Summoner, but the problem is my Aetherpool armor rating is too low.
It's only at +12 at the start of floor 21. But Aetherpool arm is at +20 (cap until floor 25).
When I reached floor 29, my armor was only +14, so I still die in a few hits.
I managed to take down a couple of the sleep-casting birds this time, but on floor 29 there were 2 in the same room, and then another one walked in when I was fighting them.
Didn't have any witching items (although I just realized I had a Rage item. I should have become a Manticore. What was I thinking!?)
Anyway, I will run with a group to get my armor to +20 and then try again.
Slowly getting the hang of floor 31+ now on BLM Solo. Gonna try to seriously beat it today.
Also in case anyone is interested, Floor 29 and 30 on my BLM

Machinist.
Floor 1-19 were no problem at all.
Floor 20. Got killed within 20 seconds o_O
One Auto-Attack took over 50% of my life, even with defensive buff active. Used healing pot, but then I got killed by its unavoidable AoE and the next Auto-Attack.
I think its possible when you have some selfheals like WHM, SCH, SMN and BLM. Even Monk have a higher chance to survive. But as Machinist, you re an easy target for the 2nd boss.
I made it so far to floor 27 on SCH. I need upgrades for my weapon though its the reason I cannot beat it because I only have like +7 upon entering and armor is like +10 and well the level 41 Palace Wivre two shot me if I don't have Steel active which is a problem so I definitely need more upgrades ><
Many times soloing becomes simply impossible based on simple fact that mobs spawn randomly in any level range what is designated to current 1x to 10x floor, so i had multiple times where on floor 11, 21 mob spawns 12 level higher then yours right next to you, a wipe is given, theres nothing you can do, no pomanders to exploit. That alone is shortsight of programming and implementation. Very fact that healer class is first to solo this type of content or almost all content that is in the game was soloable on healer class given patience proves that trinity type system in general is THE most shitties system ever sought in rpg gaming history. Crutch that healer has become in designing difficulty of content is so damn stupifying that my hate for healer class will never fade as their sole purpose is to double human error in resource managment called hitpoints. Given the trend why not even implement class that does not do damage at all but is sole manapoint generator for healers, that way atleast idiocy of healer being omnipotent class in rpg setting will go away.
It most likely is possible but a pain in the butt. The Deep Dungeon is full of cheap deaths if you're soloing it (land mines, enemies spawning out of nowhere...)
Err I don't know if there is any proof that another job has not soloed it also so you might be jumping to conclusions with your healer hate. You'd have to search around the player base to see if anyone soloed it on a different role.
Three posts above yours is a BLM soloing it and they are already on floors 31-40 and they seem to be kicking butt in general and BLM is not a healer....
Just fyi mobs do not spawn in a random level range...each mob type is always the same level (IE: Palace Toads are always level 22, Living Whelk are always level 18, Palace Uragnite are always level 20).
If you are getting mobs 12 levels higher than you then you probably did not kill enough to level up (imo you should be at least level 20 when you enter floors 11-20 and level 33 at least when you challenge the boss at floor 20). The largest level gap I saw was 21-30 floors which seems to have a larger jump in levels compared to 1-20 for an unknown reason. Palace Wivre is level 41 and I was level 33 upon initiation of those floors; 8 level gap. It can still be done though since the BLM a couple posts above has already successfully soloed 21-30.
Floor 40 Boss down on my BLM solo run. Video of (super boring) floor 39 and the Boss coming soon.
Floor 41-50 probably quite a bit easier than this...but a little break first!
Congratulations on your weapon but since I already have 235+ weapons, none of them are of interest to me.
It grants me nothing but a challenge which is why people like us are even doing it.
It's no use telling people it's stupid to do because it isn't for us. We're after a challenge and prestige and the feeling of accomplishment. Not some weapons with the ilvl being the same and lower as the ones I already have.
Also, Floor 50 cleared! on BLM Solo. It's not impossible (as DPS)...well maybe for MCH it is :v
I used high accuracy food because I started missing quite often. Once I used the food it had gotten better. As a Mage I also bought 50 Echo drops in case of 30 seconds silence(and it did help) Other than that I had over 200 of each Potion type and I prpbably used over 300Hi, 200 Mega and about 200 X-Potion. And only 3 Max potions since I didn't have enough HP for it's full effect.
Other than that 2 FC buffs were active but I'm unsure of if they're working. Heat of battle definitely isn't, Brave new World ...I dunno but most likely not.
The biggest challenge I can only describe as "Floor 31-40". That part of Deep dungeon is just very hard to overcome. The biggest DPS challenge is most often the level difference because of being too underleveled from the previous floors and the squishiness you get from that. That and the problems you get from a second mob spawning or running into you while you're mid fight as well as the trap that spawns multiple enemies and fkn Mimic (which is why I stopped opening bronze and silver treasure chests entirely).
cleared floors 21 - 30 last night on drk, had extremely lucky run where the first three floors i got rage pomadours and thanks to having saved my fortune pomanders was able to get alot of chest dropps and levels early.
I did up to 40 as SMN but I quit after bc it was just ridiculous & I wanted silver chests....which were usually mimics which on the first few floor WILL kill you unless you are a healer or have burst(not smn at 56). And the rooms would have like 20 enemies packed in there and I'd have no useful Pomamders & I'd get screwed or run out of time....IT JUST wasn't worth it.
I wonder if it would be easier to solo as a class instead of a job, with the increased variety in available cross class skills.
