It's great they listened. Just wished we had fought for 50 tokens now instead of 99 tokens :3

Suddenly I regret spending ~150 THEX tokens on ast+blm weapons to level gsm desynth while I was futilely farming for that bird.
Oh well. The grind is on. I can totally farm it some more without going crazy. ... Maybe.

Hopefully this will give more activity on Thordan ex queues. Wait times can go over 500+ mins even with a tank friend. >o<;;

I threw out my ravana and bismark tokens, now I am a sad Au Ra.

Considering this change is only applied to the Bismarck, Ravana and Thordan birds, it's likely that we won't see something like this at the release of a new primal.

I'd imagine that the Sephirot and Nidhogg birds will be purchasable/have a higher droprate in 3.4 or 3.45.

On top of that the patch notes also meant the drop rates are being increased to. Falcons for everyone!

can I ask why you have this opinion? I'm just curious.

They only added the exchange to the older primals. ( Ravex, Bisex, Thorex ) Of which they also increased the drop rate. I don't see the harm.

The mounts were a nice filler in 2.55 actually the only thing I had to do. Considering I traded my 250 ravy token just now for GC seals OK ravy will be some farm but the moment they add Sepp n Niddy to that I won't even have to TRY to get them because I have token...
The farm used to be fun and timefiller which is now gone for me.
Also the feel of achieving is no longer there it's only grind that primal for 99 kills you will get a bird one way or another...

Getting a primal mount was never an achievement. It was difference between your luck and the guy next to you.

I kinda agree with this, but I also agree that adding the x99 was a good thing. They did it at the same time as increasing the drop rate, so eventually the birds will drop at the same rate as the current ponies, and I don't see people needing to farm x99 ponies in order to get that. The BIG problem I see for this is that they only added the first 3 primals (which is a good thing because staggering of content), yet the absence of the other two is only superficial as people now know that they will be there and can just save the x99 tokens until SE release the other birds (rendering the content staggering pointless)

By the looks of it they only add it when the content is obsolete anyways. 99 kills is still quite a bit of farming/work. It's really just bad luck protection. Eventually the birds will drop so often and easy to clear in unsync (like the primal ponies now) having token turn ins won't even matter.

In one way it isn't but in another way it is.

I got a few of my birds with luck...but others I had to do close to 200 runs to finally win it. It does take a lot of effort if you try to battle the RNG to collect them all.

I consider it an achievement that right now I own all 5 birds they have added. I had to do 181 Sephirot to finally win it on the 16th bird I saw. I had to do 176 Ravana to win it on the 15th bird I saw. I had to do Nidhogg 103 times to win it on the 9th bird I saw.

Bismarck and Thordan I got lucky rolled 98 and 99 respectively on the first bird I saw drop for them. 34 runs and 2 runs which was obviously very lucky.

So in total I did 393 runs of all of them to get all 5 birds. That's a lot of work imo...so I consider it a personal achievement that I stuck with it to get them all even though they nerfed them now.

It isn't just luck...you might get lucky and you might not but if you want them bad enough and luck isn't on your side then it becomes a perseverance achievement. So just because someone has a bird doesn't mean they were just lucky...you never know how many runs they threw themselves at that primal to finally win one.

Just started Bex bird farming a few days ago and already tired of the rng, so this is good news.

Would be cool now if they would remove the drop from the loottable, so whenever i see a primal mount i would know that guy did clear it 100 times and not just got lucky with one kill or bought it.

Probably in later patches, as people are still farming them actively on many servers. It seems they did the oldest ones first, then as time goes on, the others will have tokens.

I never said I was against the 99 tokens turn in for them so if you are assuming that about me you're very wrong. I am actually happy they added that way to obtain them so that more people can enjoy the mounts. Having a set amount goal that you have to get to to get a mount will motivate more people to do the fights and get them.

It still isn't all luck though no matter how much you keep saying it...if luck alone somehow makes you actually take the time/effort to learn and go into the fight at all then it would be all luck. If you never went into the fight at all you have zero chance of getting one. Going into the fight over and over and over and joining/making farm parties everyday takes effort too which is why you cannot just claim its 100% luck for everyone.

I think you misunderstand why I consider it an achievement considering if you look at my post I never said RNG is an achievement. I said it was my own "personal achievement" that even though I kept losing rolls over and over I kept persevering and making the effort to join and make my own farm parties so I could collect all 5 birds. So you trying to tell me what my "personal" achievement is....is kind of pointless? It's personal. If you don't agree no problem, but I don't see the point in your response to me. Personal achievements are subjective. It's not really something you can refute or argue.

It's not happening, nor do I want it to happen. It's that high to discourage people from grinding the mentor roulette, as that would defeat the purpose of mentor roulette. It is simply a reward for mentors who worked towards it, much like the commendation rewards

I haven't been able to work up the resolve to do so much as a single extreme primal fight (ARR or Heavensward). More content that lies beyond my reach :(
