Hi it's probably at least 12 months away considering how long it took 3.0 after 2.55 but does anyone know anything about ETA has Yoshi or anyone mentioned about it anywhere?

Will likely have more news at Fanfest, though I wouldnt expect the release date to be outed until the last FanFest takes place.
My money's on end of Summer 2017. We still have at least 3.4 and 3.5 to go, which will involve the third and final part of Alexander, as well as the final part of the void ark.
3.4 Will be around Fall, and 3.5, mid winter (Just speculating).
Dont tell anybody else but they said it is for certain coming out next year.
Since they aren't far from the original schedule, summer of next year is a good bet.
We are literally at the 1/2 point and it's been 1 year. We finished 3 patches, and now we got 3 patches to go. So I'd assume no earlier than this time next year.
I'm not too fuss about 4.0 tbh. Just want to enjoy current contents as much as possible before major new patch/expansions.
I came from about 3 month break and there is a lot to catch up including relic new trial etc. I've seen people with 5+ 230 relic and I don't even have one yet. it makes me feel like I am way behind.
The release date shouldn't be too different from Heavensward, other than hoping they lower the content drought we had between 2.55 and 3.0, another like that between 3.55 and 4.0 and you will see many people taking breaks.
3.4 will probably be somewhere in early/mid Sept to play with Legion which is end of Aug, maybe a bit earlier if they really want to compete. After that with a 3 month dev cycle 3.5x will be around dec/new year or right before JP fanfest which is at the end of december.
That leaves the expansion maybe late winter or in spring depending on how long they want to drag on 3.5 like they did with 2.5x, or they could pull a wow and make us wait an entire year. Who knows.
Code:2.0 8/27/2013
2.1 12/14/2013
2.2 3/26/2014
2.3 7/07/2014
2.4 10/27/2014
2.5 1/19/2015
2.55 3/30/2015
3.0 6/23/2015
3.1 11/09/2015
3.2 2/22/2016
3.3 6/07/2016
If we keep the pace in that list,
3.4 would be around September, 3.5 around December, then either 5 or 6 months wait for 4.0.
If we're lucky and they meant what they said when they said they want less time between expansions, perhaps we get the expansion in less than 5 months after 3.5.
6 months, 2.5 was split in two, ending with two very lackluster patches (2.5 and 2.55) instead of a single big 2.5 patch.
By the time 2.55 came out most people burned through 2.5 content, including 24 man raid, and 2.55 added nothing in terms of replayable content, just the ending of the story.
Think he mean 2.5-3.0 which was 5+ months. 2.55 wasn't a huge patch but it was a good story one that most people believed (YoshiP confirmed) was supposed to be at least 4-6 weeks shorter than it turned out to be. (It was better to get the expac right than launch a month early).
WoD was the only real repeatable content added in that era. There were no extreme versions of Chrysalis or Steps of Faith. There was no much desired Ultima:Extreme (there is STILL none of this which is just plain sad). So yeah there was a large content drought at the end of the expac. This is nothing new in the genre, but we hope that YoshiP & Co. can live up to their promise to reduce this fact next year. (ie it would be awesome if we could see this expac come late March 2017 (but realistically it will be April/May)
Except 6.1 was 4 months after 6.0, and 6.2 was 4 months after 6.1.
Did you mean that the time between 6.2 and 7.0 is gonna be around 14 months?
OT: I'd expect 3.4 around mid-September, with 3.5 around early December.
4.0 release depends on if they're gonna split 3.5 into two patches, similar to 2.5. I guess 4.0 ends up at round May 2017.
This doc has info on how long each patch took to release plus more stuff: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=504071179
Why would they release expansion 5 or more months after 3.5? That's a lot, it was 3 months from 2.55 to 3.0
We will probably get 3.55 to so 4.0 should arrive 3 months after 3.55 releases.
2.55 was not a full patch. It was one of those small ones. 2.5 to 3.0 was a looooong wait lol
Personally, I want them to fix a lot of the old stuff. I don't want to jump into another expansion with the same issues. At least dedicate one patch to just QoF fixes.
Iirc, didn't they say a while back(like, back during 2.3 / 2.4 or so) that it might not always end on x.5, that it could be longer or shorter? So technically, it could end in 3.6+ or they could surprise us and throw in the final VA and alex in 3.4 and end it there. I doubt the second one, but it's just an example. Then again, they've also said numerous things that they never actually did (FC/personal housing prices different, roaming primals etc).
Whenever they decide to give us 4.0, I just hope it feels more like an actual expansion, rather than paying $30+ for what equaled to a patch, which was what 3.0 was. Maybe add something new, rather than just one and done dungeons where we sit for 3-5 months doing the same 2 dungeons at endgame.
I would be very surprised if they did add a 3.6, considering there's only one part of Alexander left, and they won't do a Mhach raid for both 3.5 and 3.6.
Since the Mhach raids are typically used as a way for players to catch up, I also can't see it being added in the same patch as the final part of Alexander.
The only thing that could be possible is SE splitting up 3.5 into two patches for MSQ reasons, similar to 2.5.
After 3.55
3 months from now- Final Alexander added
6 months from now - final void ark added
9 months from now - Pre-expansion story
12 months from now - 4.0
If they follow their same patch cycle, it'll be that.
If by "pre-expansion story" you mean the story arc tied to 4.0, then that'll be starting in 3.4 (3 months from now), not 9 months from now.
2.4 started the Ishgard story arc, leading up to the release of 3.0 and ending in 3.3, 3.4 will likely be similar in that regard.
Yoshida has admitted the expansion will be revealed in Fanfest Early 2017.
I could see them revealing a job in NA fanfest, another job and the theme of the expansion in JP, and the name, date and any leftover info in EU.
