2* hq macro (all nq mats/no rng skills) - Extremely high stats required

The second day into the patch I decided to see if I could create a 2* 100% hq macro using all nq mats & no rng skills such as hasty touch/rapid synthesis etc. Also I didn't want to use Maker's mark as it would extend the macro too much.

This is what I came up with:
Please note the simulator isn't 100% accurate & the minimum craftsmanship to do this is actually 1004 (I tested this & also tested 1003 which was too low), I only managed to test control for 1016/1018 where 1016 was too low & so not sure if 1017 is actually enough or not.

Without using maker's mark. Anyone think they can improve it? If on ragnorak I can give you 1M gil as a reward if you manage to reduce the stat requirements. (First come first serve)

Good god how many people even have those stats lol.

Also, seems like you'd only be able to pull this off with specialists because of crafter soul bonus. Maybe if you compensate with a mix and match of pure V over melds in both your tools. RIP wallet.

Even with Grade V overmelding everywhere, I don't think it's possible to hit the control needed.

I have the stats to use the macro http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/UFQ7 , it does require hq seafood stew though. I don't want to be the only 1 or 1 of a few that can use it though which is why I created this thread. If someone can help to improve it then more crafters could benefit from a macro like this too.

I just took at your apron. Jesus christ, that's insane. You could spend upwards of 100 million trying to meld that. Pretty cool that the stats are obtainable though.

I originally melded 4/5 melds to the chest, craftsmanship Vs were 3.5M+ & had cost me just over 74M. I attempted with a few more craftsmanship Vs after converting all the old i170 sets but had no luck. I then went to buy more later in the day to realise prices had dropped to approx 1M because of the moogle beast tribe rank up quest from rank 3-4 which gave it as a possible reward. Since prices were low I bought more and eventually penta-melded it with Vs which was awesome.

If grade Vs are going to be introduced like this then prices should drop & make it cheaper for people to get the extremely high stats required for this macro. Also in the future the macro may be improved so more people can use it too ^^

I might make a Maker's mark/flawless synthesis alternative at some point since the stat requirements will be lower. Considering it'll give 17 flawless synthesis steps though the rotation will be a lot longer compared to the current 22 step macro above.

You don't need to overmeld any V's to get these stats, actually.

EDIT: I realized I had the melds for a completely different piece of gear on my body! With the right melds, you don't need to sacrifice CP at all, so joy! Also, you can still hit 1018 Control using a Grade III Control as the 5th meld on those pesky non-ring accessories! (or you can use a Grade III Control as the 5th on the main/offhands, which is probably better)

Interesting.... If I meld craftsmanship to my chest and finish making all my mainhand and offhand i195s I'll have more than that much Craftsman and CP without any soulstone or additional melds on my main/offhand (they would be blank) using onion soup. I melded one V materia to basically all my core gear except rings and then planned smart IV melds in slots 2 and 3, and III melds in slots 4 and 5 and was able to hit those marks.

Really? Pretty sure you can't come anywhere near 1004 Craftsmanship, 1018 Control and 474 CP with the melds you mentioned, as well as using non-control food and no soulstone. The second link I provided is the bare minimum melds to hit them, and everything, including MH/OH's, is pentamelded with V's in every 100% slot.

I agree with you. I put V in all my guaranteed slots and capped pretty much almost everything except chest and tools. Tools I only did IVs because there's so many to meld. That said I ended up with around 1036 craft, 945ish control, and max CP (with soul). No food.

I put craft on my tools to test out new macro possibilities but I may remeld some control if there isn't a worthwhile craft threshold. With the unknown of upcoming 4 star, I just feel safer running with higher craftsmanship though.

I decided to work off the other minimum melds and I slightly edited the Ariyala build to fit 1007/1001/480 (for the rotation above). I removed as many Vs as I could, and in the end it would only need 10 Vs; 1 Control V and 9 Craftsmanship Vs (as they're the less expensive ones between Control and Craftsmanship).

I am sure those stats can't be reached with the meld you described

even max control meld (without soul stone and melding in tools) can only reached 937 control before food buff

Corrected my post I meant craftsman and CP can be reached without a soulstone or main/offhandmelds (which are core to making the rotation function). You cannot hit the control at the same time without a stone, food buff, or something extra.

NOTE Below post is defunct since Brands have a 10% chance to fail (which was a poor choice by SE)

Here is a different approach using the same number of basic touches, ingenuity II and innovation. This would require the same super high control (1017) but is going to require much less craftsmanship. And less CP. The skill lineup is much different though so you would need a macro lineup to swap cross class skills (if you don't use one already). UNFORTUNATELY this also won't work since the brands only have a 90% chance to succeed... so much for this approach

Although this does require less craftsmanship. All brands have a 90% success rate which may make this a little unreliable at times. Mathematically speaking there is a 72.9% chance of all 3 brands will succeed. If someone is slightly off the craftsmanship requirements then this is an alternative if you don't want to rely on hasty touch though it does mean you lose the item if a brand doesn't work instead of maybe getting nq instead.

The simulator isn't 100% accurate & there's something wrong with Ingenuity. Ignore everything apart from progress skills & we get the following:

Progress needed is 1436, MM gives 473 leaving 963 progress left. We have 4 careful synthesis 2s being affected by ingenuity so we need each careful synthesis 2 to increase progress by 241 (963/4 = 240.75)

My craftsmanship is 1011 however even after using a hq emerald soup (increased craftsmanship to 1086), I still couldn't get careful synthesis 2 to increase progress by 241+ & was at 239 until I used the +5 craftsmanship fc buff (craftsmanship now 1091). Unfortunately the original macro as shown below is the only reliable macro so far

I'm slightly confused by that one though, doesn't the result say Progress 1433/1436?

Oh poop you're right I forgot about the stupid brand 90% issue. That is the issue which always broke brands for me. So that will NOT work.

Ahh, I see. In that case, I suppose Espritduo's Ariyala build is the way to go; mine was based on that rotation that doesn't work in the end.

If there's a way to further optimize it to remove IVs from class-specific pieces, feel free to tinker with it.

Granted, in a way we "lose out" on 6 CP for other kinds of crafts so this is more just to optimize this build. There's not even any need to meld IVs in the tools with this. Another variant if one didn't want to meld Control Vs in their tools would be to meld +4+4+4+4 in each instead of +7+3+3+3.

@Katalyna If you have exactly 1087 crafts you don't need that extra careful synth at the end. 10 extra durability to play with.

Heres another modified version of it with elements, which will drastically reduce the needed stats, bump the Cp-requirement up by 1 to 425. Notice 2 Things:

1. Ingenuity I is used and since the simulator cant make the difference, the craftmanship 921 is too low. My Guess would be around 940-960.
2. 1 Hasty Touch is in there, which can be replaced with startingquality(+1000?). Due to CP restraints we cannot replace it with an BT.

i arrived at the OP's sequence while piddling at work (as i am now) last week in advance of finishing my tools this past tuesday. maker's sequence to 100% is long of course. havn't had any success getting more than the Muscle Memory > (ING2) 4xCS2 sequence with anything using name/brand.

which is disappointing.. not giving up yet. if its going to happen i think it'll be around 1025 crafts to get all progress with something (no muscle memory) like SH2 > ING2 > Byregot > Name > Brand > Brand > CS2 > CS2

Oh Maria interesting. So you flipped back to using mucle memory at the start to shave off one brand (saving an SH) very smart.

I now have 1006 Craftsmanship, 988 Control, and 430 CP base on my Alc (with specialist) and decided to test this rotation out with some Camphor. It works! Even with no Good procs or HQ mats at all, it still hits 100% HQ and 100% progress with no grade V overmelds! Huzzah, HQ Luminous Fibers for all!

The reality is these stats are not hard at all to meld for, at least on your specialists, with the plethora of sources for Grade IV's now and the periodic Grade V dumps from the moogle rank ups. I would definitely suggest melding with an eye towards this, since traditionally control has been the pain in the ass to hit cap with and this build heavily stacks control without really skimping on Craftsmanship all that much either. And there's always Baked Onion Soup if the Craftsmanship requirements for 4-star ending up being so ludicrous that this build doesn't meet them (extremely unlikely).

Because if it's the latter then I've toyed around with a build that tried to maximize melds on shared pieces, minimize melds on tools, kept in mind to not use Soul of the Crafter for the stats boost (so that way even non-specs can use it) while also avoiding any V melds that weren't on 100% success slots. I used your old build as template, modifying the melds accordingly and I think I have something decent to hit exactly the stats required.

Keep in mind this is probably even more able to be optimized by turning, say, +4 Control and +2 Control (both on fifth slots) into +3 Control and +3 Control. Depends on the price materia goes for and all and if you aren't afraid of melding possibly more expensive materia on tools.

You only need 474 CP, so you can give up one CP IV if needed. And while that build meets Craftsmanship, it's a bit low on the Control which needs 1018 to hit 100% HQ (my 988 control was without food). Should work fine with just one HQ mat though.

And after using these stats for a while, I'm loving what I can do! I can 100% HQ 1-stars with no food and no HQ mats. I can 100% 2-stars with no HQ mats, and 100% even 3 and 3.5-star with just one HQ mat going in as long as I get 2 goods during Maker's Mark (or use 2 Hasty Touches if I get no goods). Goodbye RNG! (until 3.4)

Ahh, yeah, you're right. Somehow I missed the food. In that case it'd be pretty hard to get the stats without Soul of the Crafter, might need some more Vs even.
