Fairy Glam

Hi there! I was wondering if like the future Glam Egi the SCH Fairy will also get new Glam?
I'd love to see new fairy for us poor Scholar! :o

Or atleast, if we could put on them some dress, new particle effect, etc...

I don't want a Carby, I want new fairy like the future new egi glam.
Or new clothe, color set, ect ect, because I have always thought SMN is one step forward in therm of style (better clothe better effect on weap)

I wanna dress my fairy up as the evil moon from Zelda glaring down at all of the lalas.

The thread isn't just about carbuncles. It's just that SE PROMISED SMN more Egis. I'm just hoping that when the first SMN goes live that both SMN and SCH get carby back, SCH sharing in SMNs' fortune. After they have devoted enough resources to glamour for SMN and feel that the SCH community (and possibly MCH) would react fantastically to more glamour options, like palette swaps or a male varient, they could dedicate additional resources to those projects.

SCH never really had Carby in the first place Arcanist did. And once you decided to become a SCH you lost all connection and ability to summon him. You lot need to stop saying you want SCH to have him back because you never had him in the first place. Also if they did allow SCH to summon caby as a healer they would have to recreate new animation and call him a different kind of carbuncle maybe even change the colour of him. I doubt SE will do this since it will take resource from something else maybe to make this happen and if they did that then they might as give SMN new real Egi's instead of a crappy glamor. This has all been lazy work from Yoshida team. They really didn't think the hole Egi and Fairy's through properly. I think they expected SCH and SMN to be happy with what they had done. *sigh*

I wonder if they'll ever make use of that one fairy from the artbook that has feathery wings (like a mini angel). It was really cute! (They may have actually used it, I dunno. I dont play SCH but maybe its in a questline somewhere)

Don't forget only reason why they are giving SMN Glam system is because they had originally promised new Egi's. They then went back on their word and players got pissed of. So SE decided to compromise but giving SMN a glamour system. Which is in my mind a poor man choice and it's less work for them instead of them having to design to EGi's with new attacks and new animation. They went the lazy route on us.

Just because I'm a healer, doesn't mean I'm not an Arcanist. Scholars are EQUALLY built around the Arcane as SMN are. Bio II, Miasma, Bio, Bane, Eye for an Eye, Super Virus, RUIN? Any of these skills seem the same? You are an Arcanist at your roots. Its not like when you became an SCH you were like.. Whats a Carbuncle... Never heard of that food before!

Ruby Carbuncle, has traditionally been a support Carby. An Opal carbuncle could easily be a healer. But yeah your input is noted and thanks for the bump.

Then I HIGHLY advise you to not google that. No joke.

Anyway, I'd like to think Pet Glamour would utilize our minions in some way. Much like Verminion, each minion has a type. If SE used that system to divide which minion would be suited for a particular pet, I'd be happy. Why not utilize them?

The heck kind of argument is this? ACN is the base class to both SCH and ACN, both had it, both have the right to have it again in the future. I'm all for SMNs getting egi glamours and stuff but all I've seen is whining and moaning about how they're not 'new' summons and if a SCH dare say he/she wants even the carby's it's like they insulted their mothers . _. They're getting a whole egi glamour system but I've seen most summoners here just complain and complain and jump on any scholar/mch who says they want the same :#

Actually, Blackcanary is correct in that SCH has NEVER had access to Carbuncle. Not ACN. Not SMN. Purely SCH access.

SMN gets to use Carbuncle before they do their job quests. Summon and Summon II still summon Emerald and Topaz Carbuncle respectively if you haven't received the Garuda/Titan-Egis. SCH on the other hand instantly get their summons replaced by the faerie; in that sense, the SCH job has never had carbuncle, nor does it have the right to it.

I know why they did it but like you said it is very lazy and I am pretty sure we will never get new fairies either therefore I think SCH should get the glamours as well.

I just don't understand why it's so difficult for them to do something right. I think they should just stop being lazy instead for using there resources on flying mounts or making everything fly. Give SCH new Fairys with new abilitys that are balanced and give summoner new Egi's with new abilitys that are balanced. Don't care if it comes out in patch 5 or 6 just as long as it's done correctly.

No, I knew that summoners got to use Carby's a little bit longer. The fact stands that ACN is still a part of SCH as well as SMN. ACN has Carbuncles and every person who has ever EVER wanted to become and has become a SCH has used a Carbuncle. The same as SMNs want to use Carby's cuz their's got turned into Egis is the EXACT same reason SCHs want to use Carby's too. Just 'cuz SMN got to use Carby's for a few more levels doesn't justify throwing out the window the fact that SCHs *DID* use Carby's, even if it was just in ACN form. :(

You seem to be funding it hard to understand, SCH was never able to use Carby. When u first used the job stone you was not able to use Carby.
That's what we are saying/trying to explain when people say

" Bring Carby back to SCH."

People need to stop acting like you was able to summon Carby when you became s SCH because you didn't. You never had the spell to summon him as a SCH. Now I would I understand if that spell was avaliable when u first use the SCH stone. Then suddenly SE made it so u could no longer summon him. Like they did with SMN. But you couldn't and they didn't do that to SCH. So why should SCH get something back that they never had in the first place.

Now that we've cleared up those errors in reading, again I state, ACN was a part of SCH. Do SCHs magically stop becoming ACN once they get their job stone? NO. That's why it's called a base class. Did ACN use Carbuncles? Yes, they did.

What you're saying is every SCH somehow magically skipped the first 30 levels and never got to use one and isn't an ACN but okay. Yes, gods, I understand SMN got to use them a bit longer, but Carby's are first and foremost an ACN SUMMON. ACN isn't just magically summonless until you unlock SMN, Carby's are an ACN thing. Isn't every SMN and every SCH an ACN?

I forgot that when you become your job, you forget everything your class quests taught you, even is if it's fundamental to the class. People should stop using their dots. Delete physick as well. Those belong to arcanist. Those are arcanist skills. You are afterall, a scholar now. You shouldn't be using any skills from that class. You forgot how they worked remember?

My mistake.

They could have introduced fairies in two parts, but the current lore works just fine and scholars having the real carby would cause balance issues early on with summoner.

For the Lore maybe a new memory part or something like that and tadaaa new look ^^? That'll be cool.
I'd love to see Eos with a new haircut, or a Fairy Tsundere Glam *o* !!!

This "SCHs should get this because SMNs are getting it too" argument is silly. They're different roles, with different identities. The SMN identity is that they can call forth different Pets (Egi) into battle, which SE aim to represent via this glamour system. Right now SMN has 3 Pets, so does that mean SCH should've got Summon III as a skill too? No, because it's set up to be a different Job and not something that has to have parity with SMN all the time.

Can you suggest what balanced new abilities a new fairy aspect would have? Eos and Selene cover support and healing pretty well and SCH really don't need more mitigation. Its the same reason they didn't add new Egis. What would be the new Egi's speciality?

That's not lazy. Its the basics of class design.

Personnaly I don't want a new fairy and new skill (maybe laaater in the futur if we hit lvl 70-80)
I just want glam Eos or Selene With a new fairy look. No egi no carby, just new look or effect for my dear fairy <3

When it comes to Egi's if you are saying that it didn't come down to a lazy bad design then I don't know what to say. They should of never promised new EGI's if they knew that the 3 we class Egi system was all we where ever going to get. I'm not a dev but I'm sure if they wanted to put more effort in to the thought of the Egi's they could of. When it comes to new Fairys I can't really think of what a new one would be use for lol. But if SE want to I'm sure they will find use of a new fairy and will make one.

I never understood why people wanted new egis over better egis. The current ones are poorly defined as is with minimal gameplay impact. They're just kinda there with very little mechanical synergy.

This is kind of how I'm viewing it. What would another egi really get us, 'cuz they pretty much have the bases covered with a tank for solo play, a caster for ranged, and a more powerful melee. Titan gets minimal use as is. I'd rather they improve faeries/egis and give glamours. Encouragement of transition/more fluid transitions of summons in battle would be nice.

That would be a good idea. I just hope they did do something for scholars too

Maybe they should give Scholars a Valkyrie "fairy" that is focused more on attacking the enemy and shielding allies to prevent damage rather then heal.

Combine with a release of a pet glamour system and they can release a Lenneth reference glamour that would also server as a cross promotion for their latest Valkyrie Profile game. Could combo well with the release of a glamour outfit that is Lightning's Valkyrie themed armor from XIII-2.
