Since Valerian and Baldur weapons exist...

Short answer: not quite but a place called Valeria MIGHT have existed at some point in the history of Hydaelin.

Long answer: while the dev team loves to gives these little nods to previous Final Fantasy games (and in this case, Tactics Ogre) lorewise, they can only use the names or assorted "looks" (like the Valerian equipment) but the place itself isn't its Final Fantasy counterpart. So, we got a Doma that (as far as we know) doesn't resemble FF6 Doma and a Dalmasca and Rabanastre that certainly won't be their FF12 counterparts. Hydaelin is its own universe and isn't connected to other entries.

Generally speaking you will sometimes find locations that share the name and are very similar to locations in previous Final Fantasy games but they aren't the exact same place. FF14 is it's own world. The same applies to the locations in Othard that have FF12 names.

The weapons and region OP is referring to are actually from Tactics Ogre.

I'd say it's just a fun reference. The Heavensward artbook claims that they have many people working on XIV that works on the LuCT PSP remake, and that they all have great love for it, so that's probably why they did it.

. . .Though where's our Lodis?

Oh I know. My point is that is likely a place with the name that might even be very similar somewhere in Hydaelyn but it won't be the same location because its a different World.

Just like Crystal Tower, it's an obvious homage to III with its boss and enemy placement but its still its own thing in XIV's world, unsure if Cloud of Darkness is XIV's version because it exists in the void. I gotta ask though, I think maybe the answer is obvious model recycling but Vanadiel goblins are in XIV are they going to be an MMO FF staple race now?

Stuff like the i160 gear, CT, Doma, etc. are usually just references, some less blatant than others. If there are locations to be called for example, Paddra, Nabudis, or Nifilheim, then chances are its not the same places as in XIII, XII or VII

Baldur is also a figure from Norse mythology and thus is ultimately meaningless as a 'Ogre-series' reference (the FF series freely takes names, and stories from real-world mythologies and religions around the world). But the Valerian reference is just that, an 'easter egg' style reference to another very influential game series (it should be noted a significant portion of Atlus's staff who worked on Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre worked for Square on FF Tactics so this reference is even more intentional as fanservice, but not actually canonically linking the two games together as part of the same world.

As others have already stated, FFXIV is it's own unique world which is not part of any other fictional world, from the FF series or otherwise.

Well, considering the spoken races of FFXIV were directly based on the 'enlightened' races of Vana'diel from FFXI, it's probably just another fond callback to FFXI and not necessarily a 'staple race' (remember creatures called 'goblins' are a reoccurring FF monster race since the very first FF game, but with wildly differing appearances and natures).

Having said that though, I remember SE did once plan to feature a specific FF creature design as a deliberate reoccurring monster, in an attempt to make it a 'traditional' FF creature like chocobos and moogles - the FFXI mandragora. Despite like the goblin the mandragora was already a reoccurring enemy throughout the FF series, FFXI's specific mandragora design also appeared in FFXII thusly for this reason, however it seems this idea was later dropped as FFXIII did not feature them, although ARR does, but most likely for the above reason and not simply to re-establish an idea of making them a 'reoccurring monster design'.

But now I'm rambling again so I'll shut up now and let someone else speak. :p

FFXIV's Cloud of Darkness is just like FFXIV's Crystal Tower: something that looks very similar but has basically no relation in function to it's Final Fantasy III counterpart whatsoever. In FFXIV, she's a voidesnt who existed long before Allag discovered her, in FFIII she's the prototype for Necron: a cosmic cleanup crew and manifest force of nature, in this case born when Light and Darkness fall out of balance, basically a Space Whale Aesop. (And being the mastermind behind Xande's antics in FFIII is a retcon added to the DS version because the Sakaguchi Final Boss fell out of vogue after the early 90s.)

I meant more of less that particular type of goblin from XI now is now going to be a re-accruing design for MMO specific Final Fantasy games should there ever be another one.

apparently Palace of the Dead is in Eorzea soo...

I'd say at the very least, a Valerian proxy did exist at one time in Eorzea

would that make Anima weapons, a Cursed Weapon/ SnapDragon equivalent than? hmm..
