Yesterday's letter from the producer said Tier V materia, hopefully it's DoL/DoH, and given with the daily quests instead of a one-time on rank up quests.

As long as they give me xp so i can finally up my crafts i'll be happy, leveling from 50 to 60 is just sooooo annoying -_-
I'm curious as to what level the crafting will be geared toward. The Ixali quests started at level 1 and (in theory) even the toughest could be completed with a level 16 crafter. The goal was to allow DoM/DoW-focused players a way to proceed through the Ixali storyline without having to spend TOO much time developing a crafting class, if crafting really wasn't their thing.
Will Moogles also start at level 1? I don't think we can presume that everyone interested in completing the Moogle quests has already completed the Ixali quests, so they may not have a crafting class at 16+. On the other hand, leveling ANY crafting class to 15 is so ridiculously fast and easy (seriously, it takes about an hour, and you barely even have to leave the crafting guild), you have to have a pretty hardcore hatred of crafting for that to be a big deal. SE may consider a crafting class at 15 to be an acceptable prereq.
But if the Moogle quests are tailored to crafters leveling from 50 to 60, with an expected entry level of 50... That's gonna cut a WHOLE lot of players out of the running. So I doubt that'll be a thing. Or maybe SE crunched the numbers and found that hardly anyone who wasn't a crafter already even bothered with the Ixali quests, and no longer consider non-crafters to even be a demographic to try to appeal to?
Moogles and crafting, the worst parts of the expansion, coming together. Yay?
Unless this provides a way around the red scrip garbage, I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to bother.
I did a calculation with the caps of some pieces of the highest "all classes" crafter gear. Fully melded (for reaching the cap of that gear you need multiple grade 5 materia), it will be equal to red scripts gear (you need to meld the offhand differently for getting the exact same result).
I don't understand the hate I love the moogle quest looking forward to the dayleys.
I doubt the Aquapolis will be the gateway to V materia:
- The live letter already showed that players will be able to earn grade V materia through the moogle beast tribe
- The unofficial translation mentioned something about grade V materia as rewards from a few main story quests.

I hated scrips too at first too, with a passion. Then I actually did it and found how easy, non time consuming and efficient it actually is and I haven't gone a week without capping since. I hope they keep it as a thing.
Well being a level 51+ area I'd think crafters would need to at least be 50. For most people if they don't want to even deal with crafting they could easily pay people (I know Ive done it on my server) to power level by making leve items. 10 HQ per 5 levels seems to do it to 50. Then again they may cut em some slack but kinda the same deal for the sable mask, you needed all beast tribes maxed out including the Ixal to receive it, may just tell everyone to suck it up and either level a crafter or don't bother.
If the developers are sensible they will use the change to introduce DoH/DoL materia to the Ixali quests at the same time. Right now there's no reason whatsoever to do Ehcatl quests unless you're just starting to craft & gather.
It would be ideal if they also made some of the "not easy to get but not super rare" crafting mats available via Ixal or Moogle too. The rare ones being top tier Moogle goodies.
Moogle quests were confirmed to be for 50-60 DoH.
I hope there are not any garther quests to recollect items to craft something or I'm done, none of my DoL are 50 >_>
if its how we get grade 5 crafting materia I will hate moogles even more. its worse since its moogles holding something i need hostage.
If the Moogle beast tribe is anything like the Ixali beast tribe, then grade V crafting materia won't be the major thing you'll have to worry about, if you dislike them so much.
The Ixali beast tribe introduced Ehcatl Sealants, required to craft the Artisan's gear. The Moogles will possibly get a similar material, that'll be used in the 3.3 crafting gear recipes.
I hope we can get craft grade IV and V easier with the dailies. Prices were going crazy on my server!
I'm glad they made a generic and unique gear set for all crafts for 3.3, my inventory was going to explode.

Super Hyped. Especially, if these are as efficient at leveling DoH jobs from 50-60 as Ixali were from 1-50. Easy mode leveling.
What kind of surprise me it's people being happy to have a way to level up Crafter class... when the daily GC turn in give you almost 10 level in 2 week (ok maybe à little bit more if no luck star)

And currently mutamix is almost the best way to have some rank V crafting/gathering materia
Already got 2 of each (cp and craftmanship, gathering and GP)
Way more efficient than spiritbonding the red script ring ilevel 180
I wonder what it makes it so hard to reach level 60 with any crafting class. I maxed all of them in no time with quite no effort and just a few gil. Levequests and GC turn ins are more than enough. No need for a new crafting beast tribe.
Leveling some DoW-class is pain and takes alot more time and effort. I wished there would be some GC turn ins for those classes, too xD
I've been doing leves what are these GC turn ins? The only GC ones I've seen are still rather outdated preheavensward ones. Are they some where else but the GC base or are you talking about the collectibles, because those don't become relevant until 56.
Edit: I will also explain the appeal, at least from my perspective. Levels and other things require the use of materials you need to collect be it market board or gathering for yourself. The materials used and the finished product you turn it all represent lost gil. You can sell any part of the process for gil. The Ixal lacks this. The materials gathered through quests are easier, more gaurenteed get from momster kills, no absurd timers [looking at you rare nodes] on anything needed to be gathered. Then the materials and finish product have no value besides for the quest. So they are much easier to part with. It's a time vs. Time+gil investment.
The GC turn in depends on the level of the corresponding DoH/DoL class. If you reach level 51 with a class the turn in will change to the new HW recipes for this class.
The gc turn in are those that give you a shit ton of seal EVERY day and that are update 5 hours after the dungeon roulette/beast tribe
If you're unlucky even level 51 you can be ask for a lv49 recipe that give poor exp
But once you get HW recipe the exp is like... 5 time more !
When you're 58 with a star turn in you can get almost 90% of your level with 1 item
hw leves are worthless
Most of them cost a lot of comp and do not give good exp
(But they can give some really good comp and even blue script comp for culinarian)
