It is necesary. This is reaching a completely insane level. Hours and hours of wait, lots of DF pops, but always peope forgeting click the commence button. Queues restarting after one didn't click commence. Hours waiting to enter a raid and no tools to avoid this. Just wait, wait and wait till all the 24 guysclick the commence button.
This is most a vent post, but also, I will suggest this. For desesperate problem, desesperate solutions.
Automatic commence for those who don't click the commence button after the 45 seconds. It is always 1 or 2 players. We can go with this two guys AFK, It doesn't matter due to the terrible low level required. We can go just inside with those AFK. I don't care if this two guys are all the run AFK (The system will kick them or the party will do it). Of course, onyl f there are few AFK, if ther eare too much, it has no sense, because mechanics like Atomos need more a lot of people.
But, I think is necesary. This cannot continue. Hours waiting, duty finder poping all the time, but lways one or two person don't click it and all the queue restart from the begginig. Players who wait and click the commence button being punishing because AFk people forget they are in a queue.
14 pops, always 1 fails on click commence.
And this is for the Oil... Have to do this 3 times...

Unfortunately what if one of the people that don't click is a tank and the slot/slots never gets filled. Now granted that the content you're referring to is baby cakes, faceroll over the keyboard easy. There are parts where, because the developers don't want multiple jobs to do the jobs of others, without a tank it can become problematic.

I don't really understand the way they queue people for raids and dungeons. It seems to me that when you have someone not accept that the queue system reshuffles you back into the system with an entirely new set of people as opposed to keeping the current group together and simply adding whatever role failed to accept. At least that is what my experience seems to show.
Very frustrating when 23 people are there and one doesn't accept and you then find yourself in a queue with less than half that number. -

It's actually beneficial, mathematically, to find new members from scratch.
Here's a hypothetical: Let's say, for simplicity sake, 16/24 people are available and queued as two parties. Then a 6 man party and a 2 man party queue up. But the 2 man party has one member AFK so they fail to commerce.
If they kept everything there, then you'd only be seeking two people (either a two man party or two individuals). It would also restrict those two as whatever roles you are missing.
So if a full 8 man party queued, or a 5/3 PSU split, or 4/4, or 4 pairs of 2 that don't have the missing specific roles you need, they would automatically be ignored because you're looking SPECIFICALLY for whatever failed to commence.
The current system would just match the available parties to try to prioritize the people who queued the earliest. -

Oh and to add: the only way "saving the party" would work is if you couldn't queue for multiple duties at the same time. Because if you have almost everyone for one duty but then fill up another, what takes priority?

I'd be for it, I am sure a fair amount of people are clicking that "In progress" button for the towers. Even if you go in with half a group those who are AFK will be kicked or booted and I can only assume quickly replaced with the single people going solo. However also as stated, they are fairly easy and could probably be done with just 16 people now if it wasn't for some gimmicks like Labyrnth and the pads.

WoW had the best system for this, in LFR if all tanks were ready it would go inside even with 2-3 less dps and 1 less healer and automatically add new members that are in another queue without the need to have the "join party in progress". This way you didn't have this stupid spam taking 2 hours to make a faceroll run.

It really feels like this system changed somewhere recently. I remember in the past it would pop and someone would withdraw and the queue would stay nearly full and within seconds it would usually pop again. The withdraws would be annoying, yes, but not cause too much extra wait time. Now when there's a withdraw the whole queue resets with all the spaces empty and I have to start the wait all over again, it's like I'm shuffled back to the tail end of the queue instead of staying at the head where I was.

Yes, the DF algorithm was modified for 3.0 I think. So, now works in a different way than ARR. But seems, that we are aware off, the queues resets everytime someone withdraws, making the queues longer than before, at least for this content. Like I said in the post, the duty pops mutiple times, 5-10 minutes after register, then 10 minutes between pops (which is a reasonable time), but people withdrawing make the rest of the players start from beginning again.

Also, for those people who spam withdraw because they're not getting in progress. Stop that. You're causing other people to have longer queues / get thrown to the back of the line.
