FC houses are only ones which get airship crafting and airship ventures regardless of S/M/L? I think that is the case and personal houses don't get them no matter the plot size etc.
I think SE should allow personal houses to also be able to craft airships for airship ventures. An artificial, petty, made-up lore justification for the exclusion could be argued because it is merely labelled 'free company airship' instead of just 'airship' currently...but from an equality and enjoyment perspective I dislike how people who spend the same amount of money on a house does not get access to it just because one is called personal and the other FC. If both pay the same amount for the property they should get the same features in my opinion, I think it is a little insulting to exclude someone from that house feature when they paid the same amount for their personal house as someone for their FC one.
If two people walk into a restaurant, one called Dave and the other John. Both order the same meal for the same price but John gets continuous free bottles of wine to drink with his meal just because he is called John while Dave does not, in my opinion Dave would have legitimate right to be insulted by that situation. It just doesn't feel right to me that both are not entitled access to the same features when pay the same amount. Maybe SE could implement a percentage deduction/reimbursement in house cost for purchase of 'personal' vs 'FC' because they don't get access to the same features as those paying same amount currently.

The reason FCs ONLY have Airships is because there is a large contingent of crafters/gatherers in this game. Those that were in an FC and did not like raiding felt left out of actually feeling like they mattered for their particular like of the game. So SE gave them a workshop and the Airship. This is why you cannot solo the completion of parts or Airships as a whole. You need a party. Now, it doesn't HAVE TO BE FC members ONLY. it can be anyone who is a crafter but, the idea was to give those in an FC something to make them feel like they mattered even if the weren't the type to raid. -

If you have a lot of co-owners of your private house, you get joint access to stuff like gardening and ultimately airships, whereas living alone just gives basic decoration rights. Same would apply to FCs - very small or even one-person FCs would not gain access to all the features.
With housing being a very limited ressource, that would set a clear incentive to share it with as many people as possible :3
But people would have my heaaad if that happened :P -

If you want an airship, make a one person FC and get one. The point of the Airship initially was for Diadem excursions which you could do with a party of, y'know, other players in your FC. It's why Hard mode is locked behind it. You can also queue for the Diadem without an Airship. It's an FC feature, not a housing feature. -

They do not need to give the personal house the same features but it shouldn't cost the same as the version with those features in my opinion. Also what's so bad about expanding it to allow inviting a group of friends to go with you on voyages who do not live with you. When you own a car it isn't the case only the people living in your house can travel with you in it unless that is what you want but other people will let others ride with them from A to B quite happily who do not live with them.Quote:

The workshop gives FCs something they can do together and that's important to a lot of us. The Aetherial wheels and the Airships should remain FC exclusives, otherwise there is absolutely no benefit to being in a FC, in fact you'd probably be better off going it alone. As people have stated above, it's an MMO; you don't have to cooperate with others but you shouldn't expect to get the same benefits that are earned by people who do. -

My opinion on the subject hasn't changed but I concede that I appear to be alone and without any support for the idea so I won't keep pushing it beyond this post. I continue to think that people with personal houses should either a) get to enjoy the feature of crafting their own airships and doing their own airship ventures (being allowed also to invite their friends to go with them on their airships without needing to be in same FC like expanding the non-FC diadem option already in game to cover also personal house owners) or b) not have to pay the same price as the FC version of a house if do not get to have access to the same features.
I do not think it is ideal to force people to make an new FC to get this feature because I am coming from the point of view of not wanting to leave a nice FC and splintering it/tearing friendships apart to form a new one just so can enjoy this feature...so I would prefer the feature itself linked to the owning of any house and not restricted to being the leader of a separate FC with in order to enjoy a nice feature of home ownership in my opinion. But like I said I have to admit I appear to be getting no support for my idea here which is very disappointing, such is life and I can't expect everyone to agree with every idea I have or everything I say.
Maybe another alternative would be to allow anyone in an FC to use an FC's workshop to make their own airships, do their own ventures and being tied to their character rather than the house itself...not requiring permission or stepping on other members (including the FC leaders) toes caused by the current limitations in order to do make use of the feature. Changing the restriction from limited number of airships an FC/house can have to how many each person can have if the FC/house has a workshop. Allow the members to benefit from their ships and not have to go begging for scraps from an FC leader even if you helped make ships in the first place. The airship linked to your character while in that FC itself, if leave FC your ship can cease to exist or be transferable like when have mogstation additional retainers...it still exists but cannot access it till pay again or in this case join another FC etc (either situation is okay with me). -

Frankly, FC housing and player housing were supposed to be separate in the first place, but for whatever reason they decided to just roll player housing into existing FC wards, at the exact same price. It makes no sense, but it's far too late to change it now.
I really hate the fact that there is a (fairly large) feature of the game that only a very select few will ever have access to. This could be a good solution to it. Perhaps they could make it so that personal airships wouldn't provide the same benefits as full FC airships, but it would be nice for regular joe FC members just to be able to use it. It has always seemed silly to me that most people will never interact with the airship system at all.Quote:
