Id rather just have lvl 60 Wolves Den if im gonna be honest here

It would split the pvp community up even more between frontlines wolvesden and feast but
Honestly. Give me level 60 Wolves den. I miss it.
60 wd would be the superior game mode to feast, but i'm also a purist. all things considered i can understand why SE went the route of feast as it's going to be more appealing for the casual crowd. that said, it's still far too weighted for that end, so i think an in between of some sort is probably best.
I miss no names in PVP and not having to double-check who someone is referring to when they use the 5,000th fantasy name I've seen that day instead of "BLM".
I still play old Wolves' Den, though, and I've brought a few new players there. If we have healer and tank we haven't waited more than 20 minutes.

I'm down for this. More maps is not a bad thing in a game mode that you play repetitively. It's nice to have variety. I would also like to see WD raised to 60, also for the sake of variety. I'm not losing any sleep over it though.
I think they said there where more maps coming but i could be wrong

I used to love running Arenas back in my WoW days. Used to tear up the 2s bracket with a buddy of mine. We ran a troll tank comp. He was a Prot Warrior, I was a Blood DK, back when you would gain Vengeance off of players in PvP. Was rather amusing to be juggernauts of death.
It seems to be the general consensus ... now.
Honestly, I kind of find it funny that WD advocates are coming out of the wood work after so long, because I really don't remember seeing them all that often back before Feast came out. In fact, I don't even remember seeing them back when Secure/Slaughter were in their heyday, especially not in-game. The forums always had a few die hards lobbying for WD, but queue times were pretty terrible. Fact is, the game mode was about two steps shy from being completely dead on a lot of servers, and it was like that for a reason (several, if we're speaking honestly). Even if they bumped it up to 60, I doubt it would stay alive for very long. Repetitive death matches are nice and all, but they weren't enough to keep people interest when 50 was cap. I don't see that magically changing now for the just for sake of nostalgia.
Feast would be absolutely dead in the same amount of time if not for the ranking and "rewards". Its not really a fair comparison as I believe if they had added ranking to WD many players would've played it more. But instead they turned into a tedious grind for pvp ranks with no rewards and eventually bad matchmaking. The game mode wasn't the problem it was SE's flawed vision of pvp
60 wd would nedd to have balance because the older one was anything but
I'm not so sure.
This could be just because I haven't had nearly as much time as I'd like to play recently, but so far I haven't gotten at all bored with Feast. What you called "gimmicks," I call depth of gameplay. I've been enjoying the added layer of tactics. Having to actually think about what I'm doing while I play has gone miles for helping the matches feel unique rather than repetitive. I can't say the same in WD, and I know for a fact I'm not the only one. There were a lot of complaints back in the day that it was just the same thing over and over again, and that was a fair complaint because it was true. Every match went the exact same way (Kill order: Healer > Dps > Tank). Each match was just a race to see who had the fastest Dps, and that gets pretty dry after a while.
You're definitely right that ranks and rewards make a HUGE difference, though. Even back before HW, pretty much the only reason I played extra matches of WD was to try and salvage my winning percentage. Pre-made groups made that nearly impossible (another major flaw with WD), but at least I had a reason to queue up. Compared to that, Ranks and Rewards are a substantial improvement, but we'll have to wait and see if they keep people in the loop. Honestly, most people will not average higher than silver rank, so I'm not sure if Rankings will be the main reason people stay.
This, in particular, crushed queue times. I understand why they did it, but they really shot themselves in the foot with this one.
It propably works pretty well in premades but in solo not so much when you are onlyone pickingup medals. But then again i dont care about feast at all anymore so it doesnt matter if good or bad, i only play tank in pvp so after 30 or so feast matches where i was onlyone pickingup medals, thus rendering me unable to do anything for rest of the match made me lost all intrest in whole mode.
There's a fairly simple solution to that: you just stop picking up medals.
I get where you're coming from because I only play as Paladin in Feast, but it's not written in stone that the Tank has to pick up every medal that hits the floor. To be frank, you really should never be picking up so many medals that you have to run out of combat. I used to play like that, and I found that it either removes me from the fight or causes a loss because of a late game upset. Now that I've been playing for a while, I almost never go past 4 stacks of Heavy Medal, and I'll outright inform my team in the chat box when I'm no longer picking up additional drops. It keeps me in the fight, and it dramatically reduces the risk of suffering an irreversible upset late in the game by stacking all the medals on one person.
This has also works out just fine in solo-queue (which is all I've played). Someone inevitably picks up whatever I leave behind, so there's nothing to fuss over.
Holy crap! you actually get peoples in your team that reads the chat? oh well it doesnt matter as im not big fan of arena modes anyway as they lack static objectives like flags etc(pls SE next pvp addition should be 24man CTF mode!)so i only do feast for challenge log exp till im r50 and then i wont touch it anymore unless i can get my friends interested in 4v4 light party because solo que is definition of unfun in all levels.
Doesn't really matter if they do or don't lol. After 4 stacks, I'm not picking up more (unless it's the last medal for the win). The notification in the chat box is more of a courtesy (usually something simple like, "4 stacks. No more"). It's just to let them know that I've stopped, and that if they want to win, they're going to have to start splitting the load. If they don't, then they have no one else to blame but themselves. So far, I've never had anyone reply to it, but I have noticed my teammates jump on fresh medal drops quicker after they've been informed, on a few occasions.
On the side note, Capture the Flag would be a fun game mode ... I'm not sure I'd be down for 24 man though. That's a cluster f*** of screen trash in an MMO, and it would inevitably fall down to a free-for-all. I also don't want them to have ANY excuses to bring back that god awful GC system that murdered queue times for Frontlines. By comparison, 8 versus 8 would be a better option.
Damn I feel like I'm the only one who actually likes the The Feast. For all the annoying stuff it has, I'd still rather play it over WD. Getting your healer killed and just sheathing your weapon wasn't fun at all. I think elimination is just a bad rule set in general. The gimmicks in Feast are not really in a good spot right now (LB, crates, heavy medal) but those are all easy number fixes. Wolves' Den was just chase an AST around nonstop, unless you played at the top percentage.
You're not alone. Even with it's drawbacks, I still prefer Feast to the abysmally boring and repetitive matches in Wolves Den. I think a lot of people are putting on blinders right now and forgetting why WD died in the first place. Everything looks prettier in retrospect, I guess.
Once again thats not why it died lol. It might have been a small reason but it wasn't at all the main reason. What about the repetitive feast matches? where they are all 8min of hot potato and an lb at the end to win it no matter who was honestly winning. Yea I don't think blinders are the problem it's just gone through some terrible adjustments in the past week mechanic wise and the map is abysmal. Competitively speaking WD was miles ahead of Feast.
WD didn't die because you didn't like it. it died because MM was horrible and all but ensured that no new players could ever try it, while also ensuring that the people who did like it didn't get to play it. that's not even mentioning morale which arguably had just as negative of an impact as the terrible MM system.
Repetition wasn't a "small" reason for why it died. It was a pretty big reason for why it died, and it was directly related to several of the other reasons.
Firstly, no one wanted to heal it, because the entire game mode might as well been called "kill the healer," because that's all that ever happened. Secondly, distinct playing brackets for PvP rankings limited the queue pool. That pool of players was made even tinier, because the vast majority of players didn't play enough to rank up to max rank, causing a staggering of ranks across the player base. The reason players didn't rank up was because (you guessed it) it was repetitive and the player base lost interest within the first few weeks. People seem to be forgetting this, but queue times for Wolves Den started to stagnate and die before Secure was even released. On my server, you were looking at 30 plus minutes per match in just the second month.
The only factor that contributed to the death of WD that wasn't related to it's repetition was the Morale system, which slammed the door in the faces of casual or new players. Most people like to attribute that as the main reason it died, and that's fair, because it made for a pretty unwelcoming environment. That said, morale is given more credit than it is due, because barely a handful of players achieved max rank before Secure came out; so, not many people were even running with PvP gear until Frontlines was released.
I don't have this problem, because I do not stack all of my medals onto one player. An instant comeback via LB's is rare when you don't put all your money in the same bank. I'd recommend tying to split up your medal drops across the team instead of letting the tank take them all, if this has been your main issue with Feast. The fact that you even have that option means that Feast is far less repetitive than WD, which literally had only one option ("Kill the healer!").
When it comes to maps ... I'm not really sure what you're expecting. It's an arena game mode. They put you in an arena that sports two spawn points and a couple of walls. This should sound familiar, because WD was the exact same way. Short of changing up the background scenery a little, there's not much else that SE can do about it. At least in this game mode we have some actual scenery, as opposed to WD which put you in a circular stone room that was identical no matter which direction you're looking in.
I never said that I didn't like WD. I enjoyed it, and I queued for it often. Even when I got trounced by Morale players, I still queued for it. I just wish that I got into as many matches as I tried to queue for. The match making truly was terrible. However, MM is definitely not the only reason queues died. If it was, then they wouldn't have died so quickly. People weren't even at max rank before queues exceeded 30 minutes on my server. You can blame the terrible MM or Morale all you want, but for queues to die that quickly shows a spectacular lack of interest among the players.
I had thousands of matches in wolves den when it was first released for many months of great gameplay (i played a lot lol)!!!! There was constant action and fast queue for several months!!!!! Many friends made of team mates there !!!!!!! Feast is awesome as well I have something in the works to post soon !!!!!!!!!!!
