A GLAMOUR THATS REALLY NICE THAT I CANT GET!?! I DEMAND IT TO BE MADE pUBLIC FOR EVERYONE!!!

In the live letter there was mention of SE looking into making the outfits available in other regions, but as far as I know no specifics have been announced.

That being said, I'm so willing to pay someone in Japan to go to 7-Eleven 14 times just to get that glorious maid outfit. I mean, I'd rather not have to, but MAID OUTFIT.

I didn't realize the codes were going to be region-locked. I had mistakenly thought that they would only be sold in Japan, but usable anywhere.

This. It's a promo with 7/11 in Japan. Since 7/11 is owned by a Japanese company, it'd wager that's why it's JP only. Demanding like this, is rather childish and will probably be ignored or deleted.

The thread was obviously pretty childish but the principle isn't. This is a Japanese game but we all pay the same subscription. It's unfair not to give everyone else a chance at getting the outfit too unless they're going to create EU/NA only promotions as well as the JP ones. I don't see why me living in the UK should mean I'm missing out on something when I'm paying the same amount as everyone else, and that goes for everyone too.

As I'm 99% sure someone will quote this and use the word "entitled", I love collecting things and I'm disappointed I can't get this item. I don't think I'm "entitled" but I believe SE should treat their player base fairly and give everyone equal opportunities.

@OP - Are you serious with the level of rage here? It's a glamour. A glamour they've already said they'll look into ways to bring to the US/EU market. It's not as easy to do a promotion like this here in the US as it is in Japan, since the country is physically much larger and many companies only have a regional presence. For example, I can't remember ever seeing a 7-11 in the twelve years I lived in Pennsylvania - Sheetz is a chain of similar stores started by locals that basically has a deathgrip on that market.

So yea. Give em time to figure it out.

Seems like bait... But this topic opens an interesting discussion. I think this is the first real promotional rewards that weren't tied directly to a purchase with SE. I am curious to see what they end up doing, and I also hope they bring it to other regions. Inb4 GameStop promotion or something silly.

So, correct me if I'm wrong but Japan, China and Korea all get special (and fabulous looking) region locked gear, and North America, Europe and Australia get nothing?

While I'm not one of the people who want this particular outfit, I did like the Chinese and Korean dresses & this is the sad thing about all of it. If it's made available to us it will more then likely be put on the Mog Station, & even the people who say they want it but don't want to pay for it will end up paying for it. And then the vicious circle continues of SE giving us stuff that's gated behind the Mog Station instead of putting it in-game cause they know people will still buy it if they want it bad enough. :(

It would be better if the item code is not region-locked and that everyone can get the item with just visiting a 7-11 store in japan, regardless of their account.

But as a battle challenge prize during the next E3 and Gamescom will also be nice (time to train on Sephirot).

You already pay a month subscription for pixels. The way I see it, if it makes you happy and gives enjoyment it doesn't matter if it's digital or physical.

Well, not to argue semantics, but I more pay the monthly subscription for the experience of playing the game.

At least, I'd like to think that. I do spend a lot of time and gil working on glamours...

I mean it's hated behind 7/11 in Japan so you have to pay no matter where you are.

This maid outfit isn't nice like in some other games, but if people want it, I hope they add it for them!

The fat white chocobo though is quite nice, would buy that one if possible :)

i did a small bit of digging on the JP forums.
and after i read a thread about it (i used google translate so yes its not exact on grammar and wording, but gives at least the gist) some JP players are actually jealous that the US is getting some other way to get the maid/butler outfit. some posts even said they would have preferred it on the cash shop.

Once again, it needs to be said... if not for the OP of the thread (who might be trolling), then for the folks in it. This is a business deal, and one that is almost guaranteed to be temporarily exclusive due to the fact that Yoshi-P stated they're looking to get it to everyone else. Business promotions like these are often temporary contracts. If 7-11 in America (don't know if Euro areas have it) doesn't want to participate, or any other business for that matter, then it's going to be a waiting game.

YOU WILL FIND THIS GLAMOUR AVAILABLE TO YOU. The only question is "when?". Chances are, it won't be for a minimum of several months, depending on how long the promotion will run, assuming the result is Mog Station for people outside of Japan. For WoW, with their Mountain Dew promotion, which was only available to US players, it took a few years until it was made available in-game. I sincerely doubt we'll see this be made obtainable in-game though, because unlike the WoW version, these goods aren't free of charge to obtain during the promotion. It's very likely that trying to get them from the 7-11 promotion is going to cost you A LOT more money than it will for everyone else.
