Lore/Eso rewards for the Feast and feeders

Hey everyone,

Since the Feast started we've been having problems with people being AFK or botting with the intent to get the Tomestone rewards it offers. This happens in light party queue, but also on solo queue.

A solution that has been gaining popularity within the community (and that I haven't seen suggested in this particular format here hence the reason for this post, apologies if someone already brought this up) is to change the rewards in case of a loss.

If the match lasts less than 2 mins (possibly 1) you get nothing. 90% of farmers in solo queue are healers and I've been paired with some of them...we go down in less than a minute, sometimes we almost make it to 2 minutes.

After the initial time frame without rewards, the amount of Tomes you get would increase progressively over the course of the match, possibly incrementing the value every minute or so, leading to full rewards for a match that lasted till the end even if you lost, I think this solution would be less punishing than completely removing rewards for a loss, but would make the Feast way less appealing for farmers.

A win would always net you full rewards ofc regardless of how long the match lasted.

This is not always the case. Yesterday the tank actually did put effort within the few minutes of the match, we were winning and things going great. But after he got killed, he didn't bother to leave the spawn. He would even ignore us in chat and say completely nothing.

I already suggested a solution in another thread: the winning team earns double the reward (40 Eso and 20 Lore) while the losing team earns nothing. This would work great since the winning rate for most is almost 50/50. In this case, they have two choices, either to put effort to win or not join at all.

Well maybe some RL issue came up. I had to do something similar in one match because something that required my immediate attention came up and I didn't even have time to warn the team. Most feeders I see don't put any effort whatsoever to win.

My point is, if you put in the effort to win a match the system shouldn't punish you for it. There are a lot of new players that started pvp with the Feast, they need time to learn but they are trying their best. Removing rewards from lost matches entirely would punish those players.

It is an option though, personally I'm fine with either of them. I'm just trying to come up with a solution to combat feeding that doesn't punish everyone else. Removing rewards for a lost match entirely would put many people off pvp, and the last thing we want (at least I don't want it) is for queue times to get progressively worst for the Feast. This would especially punish new healers, because an inexperienced healer is not going to win many matches.

Lol, we could clearly see him moving around in spawn so he doesn't get AFK kicked. Plus, he left the party immediately when the match was over. Even IF something came up, no harm in informing us. But it was clearly eso farming.

I get your point, but it's not necessarily 2 mins for the match end with a feeder. The rest of the party can be good enough to keep the match going for more than 2 mins.

As I said, I think the best thing is to reward the winning party with double the reward (40 eso 20 lore) and nothing for the lost.
So If I win a match and lose the next, I will have 40 eso 20 lore in total.
It's basically the same now, two matches gives me the same amount whether I win or lose.

Increasing the reward is the reason why it shouldn't keep anyone from PvP. specially since winning rate is almost 50% for most players.

I've seen people surrender in first 3 seconds of the game. I think u still get the tomes lol. Please SE fix this.

LOL, well ok then that's a farmer alright!

You were lucky though, if the farmer is a tank/dps then yeah, there's a good chance the rest of the team might carry on without them if they're good.

Personally all farmers/bots I've seen at the Feast were healers and trust me, the only way you'll last 2 minutes with a SCH bot that doesn't even pull out his fairy and just continually spams physick (or worst, doesn't even heal and just puts dots on people) is if the opposing team is really bad.

I'd rather see the rewards based on two systems: PVP rewards (wolf marks and pvp exp) rewarded on win/loss, and PVE rewards based on individual contribution. Things like damaging the other team (with a bonus if you dealt damage shortly before that person died), healing (But only if actual HP was restored, no points for overhealing!) and time spent with more medals than your starting amount all contributing towards an individual score. The score for full rewards should be low enough that you don't have to be a god of PVP to earn the full rewards, but high enough that you do need to show some competency to do so.

Basically, the idea is that if you want your tomestones, you have to actually play. And so long as you're doing that, you may as well play to win.

They need to get rid of the speed hackers too. One guy is outrunning my sprint while he's heavied. Not even trying to be discreet about it. Aether DC, DRG player, Gilga

That would explain, have seen it happen once or twice that someone would slightly outrun me while i have sprint up and he hasn't.

But only just slightly. Strange stuff lol.

Eso/lore are a nice consolation prize when you lose a game, though. When you're on loss #8 for the night, at least you can console yourself that you got 80 lore out of the two hours you wasted queueing for failure.

Something needs to be done about feeders, but making it so you only get PVE tokens for winning isn't really an option when you just get stuck in a losing streak because the people queueing in your "time band" don't have innate team chemistry.

I agree, i don't mind if people lose they still get tomestones, But the feeders, i've seen quite a few people being punished for it already, and that makes it feel just a slightly bit better when i get in a team and some herp derp noob goes like

"Just here for tomestones don't care if we win" And proceeds to feed. -> Report -> Copy paste his text + time -> Enjoy knowing he'll be punished most likely

Actually I encoutered just few times and once I even didn't understood if our healer just didn't know what to do or he was just trolling (ended with something like 8k heal and he was just setting DoTs on enemies...)
But all of them didn't had even the bronze tier.

I agree with the first post solution, but I would even suggest to apply it only to all the players that hasn't any rank, if it won't work and Esofarmers will continue to harrass the pvp comunity just go on and step by step implement ways to stop them.
Bronze it's quite easy to obtain for anyone interested in pvp (even if you are a new healer), but I doubt esofarmes will first try to get a tier to after afk and get tomes, it won't be rewarding for them.

Anyway there are TONES of solution for this problem, just pick one and set it up, after when the Relic rush will pass, you can even mind to soothe it or even remove it.

Seems like monday night is the worst for this i would see tanks just go in and dance and afk, when i called him on it of course he starts blaming others. Maybe add something where you have to do X amount of damage/healing or actions if the player doesnt meet that threshold they get nothing.

With all the issues Feast has, it sure makes me appreciate Seal Rock.

At least if you get two bad players in SR, the game is still recoverable. Not so with Feast most of the time.
