So who's fearing what they have in store for us Anima-wise?

Will Square show some mercy, considering the ridiculousness of the last step? Or are we FATEd (heh) to an even grindier step this time around?

My hope is that, like everything 3.2 has been so far, the new step moves towards not being the annoying grind that HW has become synonymous with. Even if it's a lot of work, it'd be nice to have a step that doesn't force us to run the same stuff 200+ times, for example.

My heart tells me, though, that we're going to have to buy Diadem-Favors with red scrips to gather etirdnaxelA, which are needed to melt 200 tier V materia to your relic.

FWIW, I'm actually hoping for a nerf of the previous step at least. It's a lot of work for a 210 weapon.

I'm not sure. I have a feeling it's going to be an over-the-top grind for like an i225 weapon. If that is the case, then I'll pass. If it's not so bad a grind and 235 I'll def do it. If it is something in between (230, medium grind or some other combo) we'll see.

I think its going to be light farming! Idk...lol but whatever it is I'll end up doing it like always D:

Its probably going to be 230, with 240 being the 3.3 goal (putting it alongside upgraded Lore weapons but still below Raid.) Materia won't be needed next step but personally I assume they will be for the 3.3 part. That said Tier V materia will be the ones least needed most likely, just near the end if its similar to before. Also won;t be any Alexandrite (and probably no equivilent to it.)

For tomorrow's specifically...I assume its going to be another grind more similar to Light grinding then anything involving actual items.

It's always going to be a grind. It forces people into content that they aren't doing for people who are still doing it

Assuming it's gonna be 230, not very. I'm in no rush for it

I suspect a return of Diadem, Gain 99 spoil tokens for 1 Alexanderite style item, which u then need 80!

I will gladly continue the next phase so long as there is no crafting, gathering, or materia involved

A million gil says that the 3.3 step is going to be incredibly expensive.

I don't think the best gear in any MMO should be easy to get, and I doubt I will ever think differently. With that being said, I'm more afraid of all the raging carebears when they don't nerf the early steps, and the next step takes longer than 10 hours to complete. Carebears can be very dangerous when they are frothing at the mouth.

EDIT: My prediction is 10 books similar to animus books, because someone datamined a set of 10 books when anima weapons first came out... I could be wrong tho.

I'm going to guess right, that's it's going to be just like the last one.

See how centurio seal is "kinda" useless other than getting the mount? Soon it has some benefit on it :rolleyes:

I'll do w/e it is without too much complaint. I tend to enjoy the relic stuff, even if it is just a mindless grind.

With them making tier V materia more accesable, my wallet has a very bad feeling...

But then again if it is a step to 230, and all the lore weapons will be avalible next week to the masses, maybe no grind. Just millions on materia.

The 230-240 will be more like the last step.

Materia probably won't be till the 3.3 part. Save up on your VA drops and you probably won't need to buy any.

I hear ya brother. I did the level 50 relic quests when I became 50 for my PLD class. The books have been already a stretch for me, I stopped at the materia. That was just not worth it anymore.

I have EVERYTHING ready for the post-book part for my Zodiac Weapons for my other classes yet I haven't gotten the Animus because... the books are just TOO much and TOO tedious to do for my other 8 classes 9 times each. I want to collect all the Zodiac Weapons before I work on my Animus Weapons next, but I feel so burnt out on the books.

I hope the next Animus part isn't as bad.

im sure it will be 230 and like atma books then 235, lights then 240, materia scroll.

Because A.) It can still be upgraded, so people doing such will still have a stronger weapon, and B.) Unless it ends up being REALLY easy you will probably get a Lore 230 weapon before a 2nd relic at the new stage.

It's far too early for a catch up weapon to be releasing imo though.

Agh ! I hope the prices for all the HQ crafted items for the last step go down! I have all the useless I identified items but I've been saving for the HQ crafted items and I'm so close D: I'm worried they'll spick tommorow when the next step comes out !

Considering the LORE weapon is easier to get than the relic, it will most likely be i230. In all seriousness, the LORE weapon takes clearing M4 7 times and just doing some of your dailies for a little over 2 weeks, not a whole lot of effort to get.

I'm fine with a grind - that's what I've agreed to with all this relic madness over the years :)

But I really need it to be 230+, with the amount of time, effort and money the anima took - having it outclassed by a simple Lore weapon would hurt. A lot.

Can't be any worse than when the community made speed runs mandatory for all levels of play. Compared to Mythflox, nothing can be worse. Even the current i210 step.

I stopped caring about the relic after about 10 unidentified pieces... Sorry, but i want to have fun, not dedicate my entire play time to a single grindfest that does very little else for my character.

Oh, I remember doing that. Never heard it called "Mythflox" before though. But I liked how relatively easy and quick that dungeon was. True I do like some challenging dungeons, but I like how relax it was farming for the Tomes during that time.

Especially when some of the Lore weapons have more desirable stats than their Anima counterparts.

They need a balance for this though. It needs to be not bad enough of a grind that people take it on, in addition to it being enough of a grind to populate the stuff. Either that or the reward needs to be niiiice.

Honestly I feel like they dropped the ball this time around for the Relic.

What would happen if it's either ilvl230 or 235 and its stats are only on par with the Lore Weapons. I agree with Kaurie, they need to find a balance with the Relics. Any reason why they aren't trying something similar to the FFXI Relics or what they did for the first part of the Zodiac Brave Relic?

I'm caught up so regardless of what it is I may still do it. I just really hope it doesn't involve hunting, I can not stand it and even worse is hearing all the crying that comes with it. Books I guess I'll be okay with, least this time I did a Tank instead of a DPS so Dungeons won't be an agonizing part of it.

this step grind should be something worth like choosing the stats we want
i really dont like the drg relic stats at all >.< stopped using it after 3.2 cuz the tome weapon is much better
and even look at how easy it is now to get a 210 weapon
a 40 min or so void ark run got me a better weapon than my relic

and no more crafts plz T.T

On the upside if it is materia, the weekly void ark drop can be traded for Tier 5 can't it? I only looked for a brief moment but not 100%

Knowing relics, it would be at least 50. Weekly VA would mean nothing, instead it would be a way to bring back farming the flash in the pan that was Diadem.

Doubt it will be i240 cause that pushes into raid area too fast. I am hoping for about 3 steps starting easier and going up in grind from there. ie, get the quest, i215, do a bunch of things that take time(1 week ish) i225 and last the grind going to i235. Makes it above the i230 lore weapon we can start to get in 8 days but below the i240 upgrade. Nicely balanced for grind between lore and raid until patch 3.3. Patch 3.3 would be the next step to i245 which was what they did back in 2.xx series around 2.3x with the nexus grind finishing before 2.4 when fcob came out and scob was unlocked. Letting you start fcob with a t9 i115 or relic nexus i115 weapon.
In the end I hope there is some content in 3.25 to do like the start of relic in 2.0 with Hydra, Chimera, Ifrit, Garuda and Titan.
