SCH stat weights anyone?

Does anyone have a lead on the 3.2 scholar stat weights?

I've been told Ariyala's weights are 2.?? and are extremely out of date and not usable :(.

I'm trying to not only figure out BIS for my current position but figure out long term BIS and plan all of my melding to make sure I can make the as8 acc cap with BIS and melding.

You can arbitrarily assume crit is the better stat to get and ss=det.

SCH isn't a sustain healer per se so crit really won't contribute to overhealing

It's really more about dps and not healing though. Yes crit adlos are nice but for dungeons as well as raids scholars dps 90% of the time and ariyala had det > crit > SS :( it's difficult to figure out what's best to do and include acc materia calcs with huge gaping holes lol.

Crit>SS>piety>det

I should probably explain my main concern

Ariyala has the stat weights at:

Crit - .204
Det - .325
SS - .178

I have been told these stat weights are from 2.?? And have been deflated since with the launch of the new expansion and that they are much much much lower at this point. Couple this with the probability of SE adjusting the weights themselves to alter the meta of scholars, as well as scholars mainly dpsing instead of healing, everything just seems like a big blur to me :(.

Determination got nerfed in HW, so it's much lower value across the board for all jobs. With the exception of maybe blm, Crit is top stat for dpsing across all jobs so far.

SMN and SCH are almost the same class. You can use their Weights for DPS. I added the term "overhealing" to my post because well it's a "major concern" for some players.

CRIT>CRIT>CRIT>CRIT>CRIT>CRIT>CRIT>CRIT>CRIT>DET>PIE/SS.

Pie's not too important unless you're spamming Adlo (do not spam adlo), so really just take crit due to it's increased scaling allowing SCH to double dip (150% crit value+crit scaling value which is improved again). Det's better than SS on sch, plain and simple because it increases healing amount.

Just arbitrary select every piece with crit and call it bis.

I would love to follow the crit logic again but everyone was saying that before HW and I followed it, until I saw that det had a higher stat weight than crit pre HW, so I'm just trying to be more cautious at this point :(.

Stat weights are nearly irrelevant considering how small a difference you can actually make to your healing through secondaries. Even if you could meld solely for one stat (you can't because of stat caps) and even if you had several gear choices (you don't) weapon damage and mind make up far more of your actual throughput making them the only "real" stats in the game aside from accuracy (assuming your doing content at a level to need to dps and not playing casually). So with that in mind:

accuracy - until you have enough. This is the only stat that has a meaningful impact on what you can accomplish during a fight and substantially impact the throughput you have, though it is dps.

crit - shields more often is a better real world result than slightly stronger shields regardless of stat weight which is why you prioritize this over det.

det - better than SS since you get a sort of double dip usage with the crit shields and you have so few HoT to make stronger via ss.

ss - more or less useless because you can't put together enough to provide a meaningful benefit in scripted fights with predictable damage.

pie - if your gear is at level for the content you are doing then you should have enough, even dpsing. If you are running out of mana, look for people making mistakes causing extra healing, and look at your own choices of heals during a fight before adding piety.

I imagine they are similar to BLM. You are a turret DPS.
I would guess SS>crit>det.
But you might want to prioritize crit because adlo is awesome.

You're only really taking healing into account. Most of the time, a SCH is dpsing a lot.

Doesn't change much. By the time you invest the slots you need to meld accuracy the amount you can invest in the other stats is very minimal and I would say that by once you weigh the healing and dps benefit of crit versus det that crit is still the better stat in real world performance.

From what I've mainly heard from the high end raiding community they get some PIE to make sure they can keep shields up for the difficult times, but after that it's a question of more dps over the whole fight (det) or bursty damage (crit) and it sounds like det is being leaned towards a little more.

I'm honestly confused why you even started this thread. If you're just going ignore what almost everyone is pointing out, why would you ask the question in the first place.

The question wasn't to see what everyone's assumptions on what stat to prioritize are, the question was if anyone had any leads on the actual stat weights for scholars.

Nobody has nailed down firm stat weights for dpsing on sch, but oyou can check Dervy's blog on wordpress to get a better understanding of why everyone is saying crit. https://dervyxiv.wordpress.com/stat-weights/

edit: Just to clarify Dervy's stat weights are where the stat weights on Ariyala's tool come from. When he get's to healers eventually Ariyala's tool will reflect his numbers.

get all the crit gear you can, slot it with accuracy

Depends on your group how well your stats are weighted, in my opinion its follows this:

1. Crit
Affects damage, heal and your fairy(ss-buff). First choice to max out since it also scales exponentially.

2. Determination
Affects damage, heal and your fairy. Scales linear, however due how low you're on DET naturally, it becomes a better pick.

3. Accuracy
Affects only damage. This excludes Bio II, Bio and Shadowflare and is for Miasma, Aero, Broil and Energy drain. Can only be capped by sacrificing Crit, or DET to reach 450-500, looking at BIS with Savage Drop. Depending on your Group its the better pick over DET.

4.Piety
Mainly affects the amount of adlo, succor and resurrections that can be casted, heavenly dependend on group. My Suggestion is around 750.



Reasoning for this Order:
You're in first hand healer, not dps. While it is true that you contribute significant into DPS, you should lessen the burden of the healer or tank after you finished casting your dots or energydrains, because the spam in broil is only worth 170 Potency with a most likely chance to miss. If you're a good Team, that should allow the Tank to be in DPS-Stance and your Mainhealer to be weaving in one or two dots, which will do a lot more potency than you could possibly put out with just broil-spam. This depends on your group, so your mainhealer/tank might not be comfortable to dps or simply cannot.

An example would be Hummelfaust: You put up all your Dots and the 2nd double Panzerschreck is coming. In that case i sacrifice my fairy, indomability the first AOE, ignore the 2nd AOE and adlo-spam the MT. The MT and mainhealer uses pot and burn the remaining % down instead of your Broil-spamming. to check out fflogs, this is our %, notice how high every healer and tank is.

Which is a common misunderstanding is that your DPS is all that matters, you should let your Tanks and Healer do some DPS if possible, because if you only DPS why not go as a DPS-Class instead?

For me it is acc till cap, then crit. And my question is what would be better det or a ss?
Since for 240 boots and neck we have only ss or det and I'm not sure it's worth loosing 20 ilevels for secondary stats.

I get your reasoning. But right now in raid content whm/astr does at least 70% of all heals if not more, while another 15+% are done by the faery. I do spend way more time doing damage then healing, and that's why I meld for acc cap. While my partner doesn't, his spells are more costly and have a chance to miss unlike mine.

Because of those 15% healing that my pet does, those 5 (1-10) times in a fight when extra mitigation is needed and the most importantly because I actually can drop cleric and heal when shit happens. I don't only dps, but dps is what I do most of the time and that's why I think I should gear for it.

Accuracy and Crit is all that matters to me.

Pretty much accuracy to cap then crit from there

Acc(to minimum or slightly less for food to buff)> crit > SS dots for days and you can slip in broils to minimize clipping with faster casts, spell speed also affects fairies> det (only because det is often paired with piety this cap.)> piety

Shave piety for a dps increase. CRIT FOR DAYS (around 1k or higher if you can reach your SS goals). Have at least 550 ss (my goal is 670 and my bis hits over 700). Use baked pipira and have less than minimum acc or use creme brule. I still have about 50 more piety I want to shave off. Treat X-Pots like a skill and eat them like crazy since they are so easy to make.
