AST, melding piety and det as much as I can. Perhaps accuracy has the greatest measure when factoring straight DPS, but I'd rather meld something that has an impact on my healing output as well.
Accuracy in every nook and cranny I can meld materia in! Regardless of the healer job.
Edit: I lied. I forgot I meld 1 vitality materia in each (crafted) accessory to act as my own buffer while progressing through Midas.
Personally was thinking going crit and acc as I tend to go back and forth from Sch and ast
I'm gonna say det. I don't dps as much in my party comps (every now and then but lets face it I'm not a sch, and I'm not even a whm)
I'd say pie, but that seems like an honest waste with how much pie is already on all the gear this patch, so maybe mind or idk I'm sorta debating.
I understand I honestly can't decide as the new gear is role based so am trying to find a happy median. Amy ideas?
I main AST but I also swap to WHM and SCH but much more WHM I also tend to dps and stance dance so at some point I feel I need to put accuracy on. Any ideas on what to meld?
Parry and water resistance
On pentamelds I went Crit V then 4 Acc IVs. On everything else I'll be going Acc V. If my acc hits around 600ish I might consider putting in Vit/more Crit on an open Jewely slot. :D
Accuracy. Already have 3 pieces (body hands and legs) penta-melded with accuracy materia. Going to go for accessories next maybe with one tier 5 vit each and the rest accuracy.
I NEED ACCURACY DAMMIT..............
ACC only at the moment, we are just too low for even faceroll content. Missing in my SephEX opener was the final straw and well I'm just not going to risk it for Savage. Vitality isn't a bad idea in one-slot in crafted gear for Midas Savage progression either.
Yes we have slightly less PIE with this gear compared to Gordias Savage BiS, so melding more isn't a bad idea either for main healers. But we'll end up back at the same levels with i230 and Midas Savage gear.
I melded the 220 capping crit and a little det, and put full det melds on the 220 ring. Not going to worry much about acc, but I may put some Piety on something, otherwise just det and crit.
Got my scholar to 462 accuracy. It's the best, I've not seen my energy drain miss since patch, and miasma only a few times on Sephirot.
(Also a note to some comments I noticed: Astrologians don't really need to meld accuracy as it would only really help malefic II and Gravity)
I went for acc main (crafted ring and chestpiece) atm at 444 with Lore Ring 3 melds in the crafted Ring (RNG just hates me :p) Midas Boots, Neck. made 2 slots on the chest for sps because was scratching the bottomline on my to-be 220 BiS with Ariyala.
I main SCH, while WHM/AST are toonclasses but it works on them as well with sps/pie for both and attacks not missing too often.
I meld to Midas NM/Lore b4 upgrade tier IV.
Heard of the idea of getting tankring craftzed and meld MND V in the safe slot (free acc and crit on it) might be an option if I hit HP checks but only done Sephi and not yet started Savage to give an optinion on HP check.
I think i'will go full healing off healing as SCH/AST
So i'm not temps to meld accuracy on my crafted stuff
(Plus got already belt and glove pentameld... In crit and det)
I do not think tank ring + mind V is a good idea...
The loss is huge
Either in healing and DPS
...
One thing that piss me off... Is that piety is a "primary" stat that work as a secondary one...
I want to meld piety ! I want mana ! God damnit !
As main AST I will put 1 vit in each 220 crafted accessory for progression, then rest crit or det depending what is lacking and on gear since i will be mostly full on det gear out crit mostly or speed/pie if i lack some.
It is useless to get midas accessories since you can meld only one unlike crafted for 5 and even that I don't know if I will get 230's anytime soon...
I don't know if melding vit is good...
I mean right now with almost all 220 crafted stuff (being i217)
I have as much HP as a Monk or drg
And end up being the last one alive most of the time
Got already 474 accuracy on my whitemage.
And i love it :D
Mooooaaaaar damage!
I am at 465 accuracy now (and am not done melding yet). I also added some extra crit and spell speed. I play all three healers and it feels amazing barely missing anymore when I DPS.
PIE/SS/CRIT Never been a fan of Det.
What are you guys melding for the 230 lore?
At 360 accuracy, I was missing about 10-20% of my missable attacks in freaking Ex Roulette. I missed five Broils in a row on one of those stupid gremlins. There were a few times I used Bane and realized that Miasma didn't spread because it had missed. With the exception of VIT in the first slot of each accessory, I'm planning on doing mostly Accuracy.
Was thinking on the right going accuracy and on left going crit and det
Im going full Det and spell speed as ast
Crit is just NO dont want another rng
Det is awsome helps healing and damage
Spell speed because i like it and it also adds damage to dots and hots even if its small amount
Piety for ast ... U kinda dont need it especially with the ewer and aether changes i never go out of mp and i swear it will get nerf in future... Scary when sch and whm going out of mp and im still rocking it out as ast
Acc is also not needed for ast because u only be melding for malefic and aero only
Det and spell speed for AST is better due to all of our heals are GCD base with 1 instant essential dignity and relying on crit to heal is a no go for me
As ast im consently healing back to back with casts... I not got a fairy or instant cures or loads of cds at my disposal ... AST is a turret healer with buffs/debuffs (dots)
Wep>Mind >det >spell speed > pie/crit
Yeah healers didn't really get meld options this patch, they have to make up for the needed accuracy stat they got taken off for some reason after it had been established that it was needed.
At some point it's going to be pointless anyway. It's obvious SE will continue raising the ACC cap to a point where it will be impossible to even get close with melds because they are trying to remove healer damage from the equation for raiding. Doing this 1) puts more pressure on the DPS to perform properly instead and 2) helps extend the life of the raid since it will be harder to clear without spending a few weeks gearing up first. It's a win-win in SE's eyes.
So as a white Mage with mostly Midas gear and soon lore body and New primal weapon (hopefully)... What should I meld and where?
So far I've only melded a vit into a ring and piety into my belt. Wanted to sprinkle just a little piety here and there but there's not much equipment to put it in...
going for a pure DET / SS build on my whm, never cared for healer dps and it's not going to change anytime soon
SS is 732? ish and DET is around 462 after getting Midas 220 boots (might go crafted for the boots seeing as the midas boots lose DET over the 210 esos ones)
Det/Crit on my hq 220 pentamelds. Going from the Majestas' 115 piety to Sephirot cane's 0, i think i'll meld piety into the weapon. Sch should meld Acc/Crit this patch.
As gear is shared between healers and I play all 3, I'm going with Accuracy for now. I'm up to 500-ish. Not sure I'm going to go with fully melding everything, I'll decide in the coming weeks as I replace my temp gear and accuracy caps are better known.
I hadn't touched an expert dungeon in a week but it was extremely satisfying to not miss when I did yesterday. My accuracy was even pretty good against Sephirot ex. There still are a lot of opportunities for healer DPS even in the new Savage fights and I personally feel like missing globals is a bigger waste than not augmenting healing stats with melding.
Still wish they did something about our accuracy though because this is going to be slightly ridiculous next raid tier, and it takes a lot of options for customization from us.
The fact that I can't carry two of the same gear pieces really blows I am trying to find a medium and is difficult wanted to go DET/SS on WHM and CRIT/SS on AST but with not being able to carry same gear and gear being role specific it's a bit of a headache lol
Well, you did mention you like to dps and stance dance regardless of the job. So you should consider how much each point would affect you:
about 44 crit gives you a gain of 1% crit rate.
I have no idea about Determination, but shouldn't be too far off from crit if you compare gear with capped det or capped crit
About 25-26 spellspeed is a reduction of 0.4% casting speed or 62-65 for a reduction of 1%
You have 18 slots if you're in full 220+ gear (that isn't crafted). The ceiling of the secondary stats would be 216 accuracy, Crit rate, Det or Spell Speed. Obviously, you can't meld more on it if the stat is already capped, but let's forget about that for now for simplicity - Accuracy is probably the only stat that can reach the ceiling regardless of gear set, however.
If we'd assume the information provided earlier, the maximum gain would be:
570 accuracy. Estimated accuracy cap for Midas 1 to 4 is 557, 571, 585 and 600 respectively
4.9% crit hit rate increase
Let's just assume it's a 2.45% increase on average healing/damage dealt for determination
3.3% to 3.5% reduced casting time
I'm not going to draw a conclusion here. I'll let you decide yourself
Edit:
According to a reddit post, every 1% crit hit rate after the initial 4,95% base also increases the crit hit damage by 1%.
