They are still very solid healers in WD. Very hard to kill even if all they do is spam aspected benefic.
Easier to kill now if you know proper strategies against them in WD.
Healing reduction is noticeable, however with the 30% nerf to tank damage it's not so bad.
Ran 9 Wolves Den/ The Fold (stupid change) matches and won as an astro. Its really easy honestly. I think Scholars seem to be a bit tough to take down though. Astro's will probably remain a pain in the ass as long as they have that insta cast heal as much as it does.
edit: going on 12 wins now.
it's pretty easy to solo an AST now if all they do is spam one button

I havent pvp much in 3.2, So I was wondering if Noct is still dominant stance even with nerf or are we seeing people use Diurnal ?
I like them AST is Number 1 healer in PVP, those shield and kite-ing style make them the hardest to kill. WHM is Number 2, and ScH is 3 butt its really close right now. the bole and balance can nuke or save a players life.
What about Frontlines?
Still pretty stellar if you ask me.
Almost cant be killed in the fold im worried for the feast
I think they are more problematic in the Fold instead of in the feast (assuming 4vs4), because their annoying skill pattern are all already up at lv 50,
they already have Aspect Benefic, Essential Dignity, Sinastry and Lightspeed.
They will gain Celestial Opposition that is nice and Collective Unconscious + Time dilation.
SCH will gain Indomitability and Dissipation and Deployment tactics, the WHM gain Tetragrammaton, Assize and Asylum.
To me the other healing classes gain far more useful abilities compared to the 52-60 Astros abilities.
(I'm not sayng astro will suck or WHM/SCH will be OP, I just see all the healing classes reducing a gap)
Also with 3.0 skills, DPS gained more powerful burst option, so actually I'm not very worried about it, I'm very curious to see how it will be!
Personally don't think ast is too bad in WD anymore to deal with. Definitely noticing more fluxuations in hp with the Noct gimp. Still seems to take at least 2 people to focus a skilled one down, but its definitely more balanced now. Been jumping on em alot more in FL too...you can really feel the difference now.
Ran my first Seal Rock as an Astro since the nerf. There was a difference, obviously, but I could still survive kiting 3 dps and a tank no problem (with no raw destruction, obviously). Retrogradation + Celestial Opposition is still as handy as it was before, of course. :)
AST in Feast = OP imho.
If you have a AST in your team your odds (if he has half a brain) increase dramaticly. In such a small party its very easy to stay alive as ast and keep everyone else alive.
So far i've lost most of my matches against the enemy that had AST healers, and not because they were outrageously good.
Yeah AST in 4 v 4 so far seems a bit too good still. They are able to get shields around so easily and spam them so its harder to kill someone. I still think its because they don't need to cast to make a shield which makes them so good this may sound extreme but i think they should add a cast bar for that maybe not as long as a adlo.
Nerf power of tanks in pve (specially warrior) and now other nerf in pvp!? im so furious, what the hell is thinking SE? who wanna really only protect and tank in pvp are probably paladins but DRK and War must doing more damage they nerfed them so much! i hit with two fell cleaves a dps and only down his life pool at less or a half of his vitality! i guess only play dps in pvp since now, tanks and war's especially died, i'll never enjoy like before only because SE wanna fuck and wrong designed mode, in a few weaks probably pvp content are already dead again
I kind of want them to make Nocturnal not allowed in 4v4. Just make them use Diurnal.
They are the most annoying to try and kill ._.
So ya...go AST...I will follow you until the fight is over, but I won't be able to kill you xD
As an AST, I have to say I was very surprised to be able to tank in Feast. Noct. Field, Retrograde, Opposition, Lightspeed. I'm almost untouchable (well almost)
Is Ast good? I would bet money that Sch and Whm get a pvp buff or Ast gets a pvp nerf.
I guess it is possible that every single AST I run into is an absolute master but I doubt it.
Yea, I expect to see AST getting hit with the nerf stick. We just have a good tool box to heal while running around.
One of the bigger issues is that SCH and WHM have resources (cooldowns) that make them vulnerable when they run out. AST can still perform amazingly even after running out of every cooldown.
ASTs makes Feast games go stale. I seen Culling stacks went to 5 stacks when theres 4 AST and still no deaths.. ZZZ
At least for White mage, it's gradual - Regen and Surecast can help stave off damage once both teams have blown their loads. Scholar falls off a cliff the second its last cooldown runs out, and it's made even worse by the need to use Dissipation as part of your throughput salvo.
I'm actually having (limited) success as Scholar by telling my teams to play really defensively, and to let the other team make the first engage, but it's a strong uphill battle. I'll have games where I outheal the enemy WHM or AST before even factoring in shields, but it's still not enough to keep people from dying - there are large chunks of time where I have no ability to assist my team outside of a single Surecast.
Scholar was amazing in Seal Rock because the length of time between engagements allowed Aetherflow, Equanimity and Mana Draw to be up for almost every fight, but Scholar's always been hard capped around 3:30-4:00 of combat and fights in Feast can last upwards of 5. Toward the end of that, the only way a Scholar can compete is by being way better than the opposing healer.
I wouldn't rely on Regen to save someone if I was stunned, silenced or sleeping. If the enemy team wants that person dead Regen won't stop them, it'll mostly counter DoTs up to a point. Also if i'm not mistaken SCH should have access to Surecast as well.
I can see WHM being the most unique healer in PvP right now as Assize is bugged allowing us to be the only healer that can kill their own teammates.
SCH and WHM both have access to Surecast, but i'm talking about way late into a fight, when there's only rotational damage going out. At that point, Regen & Medica II are both very potent at keeping you alive long enough for something to come off of cooldown, and SCH's equivalents (surecast Succor & Embrace) really can't hold a candle to it.
It's even worse because SCH has to sacrifice its regen effect toward the end of a heavy battle, and that has a minimum cost of 45 seconds + 2600 mana to get back.
e:
Mana permitting, WHM's fail state is Regen on 4 targets and a Surecast (for either Cure II or Medica II) within the next 30 seconds.
My fail state is Surecast for Adlo, Succor or (theoretically) Summon, because the button I use to match Benediction or Lightspeed reduces my long-term healing healing ability by at least 33% (and often a lot more in practical terms).
So many times now I have taken an AST down to next to nothing only to have them right back full HP again. SCH and WHM are lucky to do that once while AST just keep doing it... while running. Its like fighting a restro druid during TBC.
If their team groups up and I can toss out dots/aoes at everyone it seems to mess with them. Other then that adrenaline works pretty good on them :)
