I am Elon Salver, and i was a Str tank.
I will miss the joys of speeding up dungeons, carrying bad dps, and soloing bosses as warrior. Hope we will meet again someday, beloved pure str.

Press F to pay respects.
I will miss you all of my brethren and sisters.
I'm so ready to forget them. >.>
Good STR tanks were a great addition to any dungeon, but the bad ones made my healing life miserable, far more than bad VIT ones ever did.
Good tanks will now no longer need to pack two sets of gear, and their damage, while lowering somewhat, will probably end up being comparable to pentamelded accessories (but without the massive gil cost associated with them). Overall, I think this is a much needed and welcome change.
Yeahh.. Bye-bye "tanks" that cared more for dps than actually tanking >_>
...and blaming the healer if there HP goes zero! Im so sick of this BS!
soo many rage quits Ive expierenced because of that!
My name is Mugen and I am/was a Str tank. May my Slaying accessories rest in peace. (I don't play Mnk or Drg lol)
Yeah, I am glad they are gone. Their personal DPS might not change too much, but man, I can stay in Cleric Stance longer now that I don't have more HP than the tank, and I can do more damage as well.
May my slaying gear rest in peace as well.
And lol at healers thinking this is even gonna remotely fix a tank that doesnt cycle cooldowns correctly, as this will just work to make bads even slower in dungeons.
R.I.P slaying accessories on tanks

I think you overestimate the "slow" part. Damage difference is likely not going to be noticeably different with the bad tanks, so I doubt it'd be much in the way of being slower... unless you relied on tank damage for content (which outside of progression, you really shouldn't).
While it won't fix bads (Really, will anything? If someone wants to be bad, they are gonna be bad.) it will mean they can have more hp and deal their ideal amount of damage too. They will still get a damage buff for wearing VIT just like they did STR (though slightly lower then 1:1), but now they only need 1 set of jewelry. No more needlessly expensive overmelded jewelry for you guys. CELEBRATE !@#$%^
Oh don't get it twisted. I've supported this change in the tank forums since someone thought it up. It's necessary and a good thing. However, the problem is that it will not fix tanks and make them somehow more durable. A couple K HP in the lvl 60 environ is not gonna change a whole lot.
if i recall DPS will only be lowered slightly. seems liike people here think the vit/str changes meaning they will lose a ton of DPS. if anything i would think its a good thing. you get more health and lose a little but of damage. and no more of those fabled healers not liking vit tanks. (p.s. no more making fun of vit tanks)
My thoughts :\
Could be bad healers too, but I don't mean to judge either player. Wasn't there, so can't say.
I know from my experience as a healer, that I never once had an issue with STR tanks. I have had issues with tanks pulling abysmal damage (most likely VIT tank, but I didn't check). It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
We had a fun run; prior to 3.0, it was a small niche group of us. Started with a slaying ring to go with the fending ring, then a crit/det earring here, a pentamelded bracelet there. Finally saying "eff it, let's dance!" and using a Hymn to drop all those allocated points into strength. Honestly, 3.0 killed it for us, became so mainstream and commercialized. All the hipsters started buying up the pentamelds, flogging non str tanks with lines such as, "do you even Slay, bruh?". When I saw the Pepsi ad with a Str-decked Warrior I knew then the dream was over.
Fellow Pioneers! I salute you; we took the game and flipped it upside down. We were the rebels, defying Loot roll reqs and gearing through Greed, making Healer's sweat a little before commencing, showing the world, "We are the few! The Proud! the Right side Parry-less!" and though what we accomplished will fade into history, we will never forget the way we told the institution to go eff itself: We are FFXIV Tanks, and we don't need your HP padding!
Bye bye to all of the excellent STR tanks who could stance dance with great skill, hold aggro and manage cooldowns <3
I'LL MISS ALL OF YOU
OP is salt. With time comes changes.
R.I.P. crafted melds 2013-2016
My static called me the Off-DPS.
Who knows if that title will be retained.
At least I got a 10K fell cleave on Faust before it was over. My fending accessories are ready for me to have a massive amount of HPs.
Never had problems with str tanks if good the new thing I've seen is tanks with PvP gear that runs pve dungeons and suck at it >.>
Good riddance hate STR Tanks.

RIP 14k Fell Cleave.
good bye and good riddance!
Thank god statics will now only have 1-2 players fighting for STR accessories instead of 3-4.
They are not going anywhere tho...
Depending on actual balance, probably you will see tanks still using some slaying accesories to make up for fending stuff that has parry on it. Any stat > parry.
It makes me sad as a healer main to come into threads about str tanks cause I know what I'm gonna find.
Other healers claiming it was the str gear that caused the problems.
Instead of Oh, I don't know, the tanks skill level or shocker, the healer themselves.
On topic however, I don't really mind about the changes. As a healer nothing really will change and I'll continue to do my normal thing in dungeons. I guess I'll have even more time to DPS now probably though.
Thank you good STR tanks for speeding up my daily duties.
I find it ironic that there are alot of people that hated str tanks. We were revolutionary to our role. If it weren't for us VIT tanks may not have seen dps improvements and the situation for vit only tanks may not have been as noticeable by SE.
Sometimes I think some people think STR tanks needed to be healed more then VIT tanks.
I actually need less healing as a STR tank, since my self-heals heal me for that much more with the extra AP. Having more VIT doesn't magically make me take less damage.
Actually seems to hold hate better IMO had a friend play full vit gear keep losing hate, suggest add some str gear although he went full str. He did nothing different for how he plays and keep hate just find with me dpsing and not having to use shroud :D /shrug
