I know that there has always been a backlash with us players wanting more variety with things pertaining to seasonal events. We always want new glamour gear, furniture, food, barding, or minions. Instead of giving us only a few items at a time with little to no variety, why not have these seasonal events give us crafting recipes? At least 5 different kinds of items to make every time there's a seasonal event. We could get vanity weapons and armor based on the event, but let us craft these things on our own! Each year people get displeased with hoping that the next event brings us something unique.
So why do we not get crafting recipes to make things instead? It would make more work for the dev team, but I'm pretty sure that us players would be more than satisfied. We have the Highland gear and barding, so why not make more recipes like that for the seasonal events?

Even though I'm new, and don't have crafters up very high yet, I would be on board with this idea. Other than the summer event and the halloween event, I've been rather disappointed with events so far. They're WAY too short in some cases and/or the rewards are lackluster. I did enjoy the anniversary event though, which actually made me tear up a little. But as long as I could buy the recipes and hold them back in storage until I could use them, I wouldn't mind this. :)

Yah so you crafters can get even richer by outrageously pricing the new seasonal items, no thanks. I do not find crafting fun so do not do it and some of the price for the glamour outfits is ridiculous. Don't need even more items for crafters to gouge us on.

Also please, any event that has asked for something to be crafted is like a level 10 craft. It takes like 10 minutes to do that if you really want an item. -

I like this idea. The events have well-defined aesthetics about them, and so putting some 1* and 2* glamour recipes up that match those aesthetics would be a fantastic idea.

It can easily be made by a lvl 15 CUL but I made a batch and was handing them out for free after I saw some of the prices ppl were asking. I wasn't the only one doing this and you wouldn't believe how salty some ppl got.Quote:

Instead of event gears, they can give us event mats, so we can craft the event gear ourself.
Like during the first seasonal events at the start of 1.0, but without the bells.
Example:
Dream Tunic (1.0 recipe for Weaverer lv 10)
1* Dream Tunic Materials (event mat from starlight 2010 event)
2* Dormouse Fur
1* Cotton Yarn

If they made the tradeable seasonal items low level crafts (like the fish fry was), it would mean that the price on those type of items would come down. There's also the problem of bloating the crafting recipes. There were complaints from the OCD about not being able to put a shiny checkmark next to Battered Fish as soon as the summer event was over.
(not that I disagree entirely, I think seasonal event recipes like Battered Fish should disappear from your list once the event is over)
If a seasonal event encourages people to explore other facets of the game, I'm all for it. Low level stuff that binds to you when crafted or even when gathered. The price gouging I've seen by crafters during holiday events always seems... petty. -

I missed the housing event for the Starlight Celebration :(, I was upset there was so little to do for 2015 Starlight Celebration T_T. Please bring back the interactive seasonal events! Not just crafting, just involving different aspects of the game in the event is awesome :).

I don't think its so much as backlash that players wanting more for seasonal festivals receive but rather a bit of reality check.
The truth is that while they are small and tend to be quite minor things, they are also likely make quite a small impact into the resources used to create content. To make more elaborate Seasonal festivals it would mean we would get less content elsewhere. New outfits made for a seasonal festival means outfits not being made for the next patch. The dev team cant pull new content out of no where. Something has to be given up for us to get more variety or depth to seasonal events.
I am totally with you that bigger seasonal events with more depth would be really welcome but not at the cost of what we get in actual content patches. The seasonal stuff simply isn't worth that.
That said some festivals have been more involved than others. Even the likes of the last Little Ladies day was a lot more involved than this years Heavensturn. I could do with seasonal events which encouraged a bit more involvement. -
