A Disturbing Trend

On my server, anyway, especially at the adamantite node in Azys.

One person will aggro the mob and intentionally get it to aoe the clusterf*** around the node to interrupt other players mining.

I usually have to wait for 2 minutes for the griefing to end so I can mine, but it throws off my GP regen with the node times.

If you've opened the node then the aoe can't hit you. But if it still does then it is a bug. SE updated it quite some time ago so that aoes can't interrupt gathering anymore if you've started it.

Sounds like you need to report the players who do that.

Just hit the node. You can't be hit. They stopped that at some point in 2.x. As long as you don't aggro it you can mine without sorry.

Think it only works if you stealth first... But yeah stealth and start mining.

It works either way, but you need to be in stealth for one of the three possible nodes or you risk getting aggro (and it's still funny every time someone does)

Its griefing and reportable.

I deliberately aggro the mobs all the time, as a gatherer, and away from a node. I get spanked once, then they turn their attention to my rank 20 bird. While he proceeds to pound the crap out of these high ranking mobs, I just waltz off and hit the node, no stealth necessary. Then I'll go back and help my bird finish the mob off. Other people see this and skip stealth too, then often join in the fun. Revenge of the miners! :)

Interestingly enough, this tactic works for fishing too! I was fishing in the diadem once on one of the western island before I discovered the mob-less fishing areas in the east -- someone decided to try and be a jerk and tried to get a mob to blast area effect spells onto me while I was fishing for my pterodactyls. He would be flying just in front of me off the island to try and get the aoe to kill me -- he died midair instead while I was happily fishing away uninterrupted. ;)
