Just for Fun; which sadisic choice would you take?

Disclaimer: None of these are Jerkass genie questions and will not bite you in the rear for either decision (much).

1. A tank that stays in tank stance /w full fending the entire run or a healer that never touches cleric stance.

2. An Ice mage or a BRD/MCH that does not use WM/GB.


3. MNKs that only do DK-TS-SP and stay on the rear, or a DRG that only does full thrust combos

4. a BRD that only does straight shot, or a MCH that never uses reload.

I'd rather have a fending tank over a non-CS healer
Hmm. Probably non-WM/GB range because ice mages are utterly pathetic with damage
Don't know enough about MNK to make a judgement here.
MCH that never uses reload... at least RNG may favor them.

I'd have to say that Option 1 is the least sadistic option, so I'll take that. A tank in full fending who plays tank acceptably can still hold aggro and fulfil their primary role effectively unless undergeared. A healer that doesn't touch cleric stance can still heal properly. Neither of those examples compromise the core function of the role.

Options 2, 3 and 4 all appear to be examples where players are through deliberate action or inaction compromising their primary role. So I definitely would say that Option 1 is the least sadistic, and therefore the best 'option' to deal with.

Option2, Ice mages are not even using half their core capability; Bards that don't use WM are losing 30% of their skill based damage output; similar for MCH, so these three all compromise their core abilities.

Option 3 & 4 are similarly about players who are not even plying their primary role properly.

You're missing those with knock back abilities, so: WHM with Fluid Aura, MCH with Blank and SMN with Garuda

I'm fine with both depending on content, but I'll pick the Tank.

BRD wouldn't have Empyreal Arrow or Iron Jaws or Sidewinder so I guess the Ice Mage.

At least with the latter, I can ignore it. If it gets to the point that it's detrimental to the party, le kick. The former? If it's not slowing the run by a noticeable amount it's fine. If they're balantly not being receptive to advice, I really hope they aren't expecting a carry, esp at level 60 dungeons (which you should at least by that time, know the general mechanics)

I'd go with MCH. If the WHM isn't doing without cleric stance, it's less effective than if the MCH was doing it without GB. Gaurda only does it if the SMN runs up to them (assuming sic).

The tank, easily. Since most dungeons are a series of mid-to-large AoE situations punctuated by three single target situations, the AoE damage a cleric stance healer can bring will generally outpace the damage gained from a tank going "full DPS" (with really good WARs being a notable exception, since they can do that really sexy Bloodpath+Berserk+Overpower thing).

The BRD/MCH that doesn't use WM/GB. I'm pretty sure an Ice Mage gives up like 80% of his potential DPS, while a BRD/MCH only gives up perhaps 20% of hers by not using WM/GB.

This one's tougher, but I'm inclined to say the MNK, as they're still buffing their damage by 10% from DK and 15% from TS, as well as still gaining GL3, which should equal out to more damage in the long run. But that one does require some math without the positional bonuses.

The MCH, easily. They would still be using a wide variety of their skills even without Reload, whereas a Straight Shot-only BRD would be giving up DoTs, Bloodletter, etc etc.

A healer that doesn't cleric at all is cancer.

I don't even notice what accessories tanks wear so I'd be fine with that.

Second is hard, but I guess the bard/mch
I'll take the monk.
And finally I'll take the machinist. That's still more damage than nothing but straight shot.

A Blm can actually hit around 750 or so if they use enochian and accessed blizzard IV, moreso if they use cooldown. The deficit on BRD/MCH is a bit more apparent when they're losing out on their exclusive abilties, and especially BRD'S TP effiency and MCH's wildfire bursts (where ricochet and gauss round has a much higher value)

How about a healer that heals in Cleric Stance?

Every time in parties prefer the healer going sps>heal?:cool:

1) Tank. Because I'm less likely to notice it and they're at least still pushing buttons, as opposed to a healer sitting on their hands half the time.

2) Brd/Mch. It's slightly more complicated due to the loss of WM reliant skills, but I'm pretty sure they're still doing better than an ice mage.

3) Drg. If for no other reason than the fact that I main monk and would, therefore, be personally wounded by watching that far more deeply.

4) Mch. Same reason as the tank, really. He may be doing it wrong, terribly so, in this case, but at least there's some effort going into it.

4. The MCH, they'll likely do better damage than a Straight Shot only BRD if RNG favors them.

1) Tank (Unless the tank is a full fending full time Shield Oath PLD who also never uses Goring Blade and Royal Authority)
2) BRD/MCH
3) MNK (The DRG's DPS will be considerably worse)
4) MCH (I'm pretty sure the MCH would do better under those constraints)

These are masochistic options btw
